Research efforts by Grargar and others have uncovered that many titles are now regionally priced in the catalogue. As an American I never noticed this, but it seems like the regional pricing kicked in today with the site update. These are the affected titles discovered so far:

1954 Alcatraz
Always Sometimes Monsters
Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs
Blackguards Special Edition
Blackguards: Untold Legends DLC
The Book of Unwritten Tales
The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles
Broken Age
Broken Sword 5
Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav
Deponia 3
Gods Will be Watching (likewise the Special Edition and the DLC)
Gomo
Gone Home
Guacamelee! Gold Edition
Hatoful Boyfriend
Luftrausers
Memoria
The Night of the Rabbit
OlliOlli
The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief
Shadow Warrior (2013)
Space Run: Fast and Safe Delivery
Surgeon Simulator: Anniversary Edition (DLC)
Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter - Special Edition
Wasteland 2
The Whispered World: Special Edition

I would like to get your feedback, and most of all, clarity from GOG as to whether these changes were instituted today, or have always been the case.

Here is the master thread on regional priced games, and the associated GOGmix.

You can also view all the regional priced games on MaGog. This should automatically pick up any games added or changed to regional pricing.

Props to the people who are helping to track down these titles.
Pretty sure this is new. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was $19.99 for me until yesterday, today it's $16.49.
While I don't like regional pricing, I do like the new way of dealing with it via store credit. Way better than gift codes for some fixed games. For this move I tip my hat to GoG, since it is closer to an actual refund of the regional difference.
Now the next logical functionality (on which they are already working) will be the ability to refill the store credit directly. And later the ability to gift store credit to someone else. :-)
This basically negates what a lot of people in the 'Last Chance' thread are thinking, that Nordic is leaving because GOG isn't willing to do regional pricing.

But then why is Nordic leaving? Was their regional pricing too much to take?
GOG should give a way to recognize regional priced games from the catalog with the amount they're making you pay more and a way to filter them. It shouldn't be users job to keep track of that.

By the way, are you still getting American prices?

Their pricing being too much seems hard to believe when some of Daedalic's games are $26.29 for some and $10.99 for others.
basically looks like "You will have regional pricing whether you like it or not" wonder how long it will be if they continue down this path before they remove the fair pricing policy.

Dont think ill bother much with GOG from now on, except DRM free not much better than steam atm

No, today's change fixed that. EU prices now.

I'm fairly convinced that the fair price compensation is a temporary measure to ease people into the change. Probably 1 or 2 years down the line some games will not have that option because doing so would 'negatively' affect GOG, together with some pity statement so people can rally behind GOG over it, and then somewhere later it will be removed entirely.

Yes I'm a skeptic ;)

Let's hope that doesn't happen...
I'm surprised how many people still think gog "backed out" of regional pricing entirely, after that "back to our roots" piece, which basically said "we'll do our best, but allow it where necessary".
If that was TETs last shot, he went out with a bang alright.

Does it mean all of those games are distributed in retail as well? I'm surprised they are. For indie games using pure digital distribution should be more common.

Yeah, that was masterful. I wouldn't be shocked if the majority of the GOG fanbase still thinks they're not willing to do regional pricing when in the Back to our Roots statement they reaffirmed the exact opposite.

Even now Nordic pulling out is being scratched up to a loss 'because GOG isn't willing to give in on regional pricing' by a lot of people, when in fact they did months ago.

Oh great, living in a city where many people get 400€ per month for a full time job in a country that has the horribly expensive EU pricing I can't describe what I think about it.
GoG will lose many Germans.
