2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

We're experiencing issues with the Cloud Saves backend servers. You might notice some "Failed to sync storage" errors while syncing games.

All your local content is unaffected, and all changes made will be synced automatically once all issues are resolved.

BKGaming: Anyway, apparently a butch of games got updates for the overlay
Yes, a few games received minor updates required to support the overlay.

avatar
BKGaming: and for some reason "Starbound" is giving me a server problem message when trying to update but the other games updated fine. Must be something on GOG's end.
We've removed the broken Starbound update, so the game should install/work fine. There will be a new minor update in the coming days to fix the overlay.

Poddy30: Experiencing exactly the same problem as Nebelchen123. Witcher 3 just maxes out the Ram and network bandwith and doesn't start.
It would help us debug this issue if you would create a new issue in our bug tracker and attach your logs:
http://mantis.gog.com/bug_report_page.php
(instruction for the logs are on the bug report page)

hubacek.jakub: I was already using cloud sync for Witcher 2. After update to 1.2.7 today, there is no evidence about cloud sync. Where was "Saves synced" (or something like that), now there is only "Installed". Did I lose my Cloud Sync feature ? :)
Good luck and thanks for what you created :)
My previous post about cloud saves server status was lost on the previous page, but the storage servers experienced issues today, and we've taken them offline to perform maintenance.

Cloud saves servers are now coming back online, and the system is restoring syncing functionality to all games and users, but that's an ongoing process.

In the meanwhile all your local data is available and you can play games and make new saves. The cloud backup of your data is safe, and syncing will be restored once all servers are online. All changes made locally while serves were offline will be synced automatically, without any additional user actions.

Grimlock: Not sure if it’s important enough to open a Mantis report so I’m going to post this here.

The GalaxyComunicationService is crashing every time I start Shadow Warrior Classic Redux since I’ve updated to 1.2.7.
After that there is a little graphical glitch with the menu to select what you want to play (the main game or the expansion) but it’s possible to start the game.
We'd be thankful if you'd post a bug report. :) Thank you.

About TW3 not starting from Galaxy Client for some of you - as a workaround please run the game directly from the executable. We'll investigate the issue.

To find it, you can use MORE -> Manage installation -> Show folder

MathieuC: Exactly the same problems and results. A lot of data are send to galaxy-log.gog.com and witcher 3 doesn't start. I will use the bug report page later.
We've already received logs from a couple of users (thank you!), and we've been able to reproduce the issue. It affects only a small number of players. We're working on a fix.

Poddy30: Report sent but uninstalling and reinstalling gog galaxy seems to have resolved the problem for me :)
We've release GOG Galaxy 1.2.8 a few minutes ago, that fixes the issue.

ThuNd3R15: Hi :) I've got the same problem with the witcher 3.My pc just freezes when I launch it from the gog galaxy client and the only solution is to restart the pc....If launched from the game folder via exe...it works just fine. Please fix it :)
GOG Galaxy 1.2.8 fixes the issue, just restart GOG Galaxy to update to the latest version

Coreda: Bug: after changing the Notification settings to display on the bottom-left rather than the default bottom-right Galaxy doesn't change its behavior—the notifications still display in the bottom-right.

Tested this on half a dozen updates to games I had pending which displayed the desktop notification when completed for each.

See attached image showing the settings changed. Using Galaxy 1.2.8 (the latest version).
Hi Coreda,

Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce this issue on my machine. I understand that the issue ocurred for you for notifications on your desktop (not in-game notifications). If so, then we would greatly appreciate you filing a bug report (following the steps outlined in the pinned post at the top of this thread) so that we can track the issue down.

Thanks in advance :)

Coreda: Should this be filed under Client or Overlay under the new issue Project drop-down menu?

Also, which logs should I attach? There are dozens.
If it's happening in Galaxy or on desktop please select "Client". If it happens in-game than please select "Overlay".

As for the logs, please attach all of them, you can just compress the whole "Logs" folder.
Hey,

we have released a new version of Galaxy.

We have added online statuses in Friends Activity on Game View, so you will be able to check who you can play the game with nearly immediately.

The release also contains a fix for screenshots, which in some some were a bit broken.

Also Chinese simplified was added as languages with limited support. 你好 everyone :)

Pond86: So is there no way not for Galaxy to see a certain folder. As I have two GOG folders (one for games, that I dont want Galaxy to see, and the other for Galaxy.) Galaxy sees them both (despite me only telling it to use the folder I want it to use.)

I don't like Galaxy for non-achievement games as Galaxy tends to crash and hang alot when I have alot of games listed in it.
When you install a game - game will register itself in Galaxy so it's indexed.

You can close Galaxy Client, remove C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Storage\galaxy.db file, start Galaxy Client again, and then import your games with scan&import function (top-left logo menu) on the folder you want.

edit: also, we're aware of Galaxy acting slow when having hundreds of games indexed.

4-vektor: Hello!

I don’t know if someone else already asked this question, but I would like to know why Galaxy seems to be unable to import game folders or even recognize games that were installed using the offline installers.

I already had this happen several times. Two that I remember and just installed recently are Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves and The Witcher: Enhanced Edition.

I just installed Witcher and Galaxy tells me it can’t find anything in the game folder. For Galaxy to work with Wicther I would need to uninstall Witcher again, reinstall it via Galaxy, which means I have to download 9 GB of data with my rather slow connection again... This is rather annoying.

Is there any reason why Galaxy simply does not recognize several GOG games that were installed using the offline installer?

Thanks for your help.
I have 3 options for you:

1. Top-left menu icon -> scan & import -> choose parent folder of where the game is installed to

2. Library -> The Witcher: Enhanced Edition (go to Game View) -> MORE -> Manage installation -> "Import folder..." -> choose folder of your game

If those 2 didn't work, then something is wrong with the installed game instance, or Galaxy Client have some problem on your machine (you can file a Mantis report with logs).

3. Library -> The Witcher: Enhanced Edition -> INSTALL -> Choose parent folder of your game folder.

Check if it starts to install inside the same folder, or it creates new one with similar name. If it's the same folder - it should download just the differences (or nothing :) ). If it's different folder, you might cancel the installation, rename your full installation game folder to one that Galaxy created and try again.

bakagringo: Seriously. What's up with all this tracking?
Google tag manager and google analytics calls are done by gog.com website to gather statistics - you can block them - in the website code we detect that you're blocking it and respect that (nothing will break).

Other google things may be parts of YouTube videos and re-captcha for logging in and redeem page.

You could enable connections to presence.gog.com to make yourself "online" for other users and to see their status (yes, we're thinking about new privacy options).

"CDN" ones are there for us to make game downloads quicker for everybody. Blocking them may break something.
