Here's hoping that most people have already figured this out on their own, but just in case: 16 hours of motion capture data for sex scenes does not equal to 16 hours of actual in-game sex. ( This could be good or bad news, depending on your personal expectations. :D ) This is the total amount of capture data, for all of the actors of these scenes combined, possibly also including scenes which were never used for the final game.
I doubt sex scenes will be much longer or more elaborate than in the previous game, but you will probably have more options for potential partners, perhaps even including male characters... ? And I figure they probably wanted to provide several variations of the actual sex sequences, so you don't see the same thing every time. Since they're going for a bigger, and more open world this time around, it makes sense that they're trying to provide more content and options to the players, apparently including the sex!
Personally I kinda like this element of the Witcher series. These games have always been aimed towards adults, not just because of the violence, dark themes and sex, but also the mature style of story-telling. They're not meant for kids, and I think the sexual themes, along with the gore etc. suit the dark, medieval Fantasy setting well.
At the end of the day, I suspect the majority of these scenes will be optional once again, so it's up to the player to decide whether or not they want it to be a part of their game experience -- 's all good.
