HypersomniacLive: Good day peeps, hope everyone's doing well.
Good afternoon, Hyper!

How are you today, any improvement with your back?
avatar
ddickinson: Did anyone decide to pick up a game form the weekend promo?
Nah, all of it's a bit pricey for me. (and a lot of the games on offer probably have system requirements so high they would fry my laptop)
When I saw the forums down this morning my first thought was:

"What the hell did DD do now?"

I just ask women if they remember rotary dial telephones.
If not then they're young enough for me. ;)

l0rdtr3k: I was thinking of getting Blackguards but I decided to go back to being Gold on XBL.
What does "Gold on XBL" mean?

Hi!

Hope you're having a nice weekend.

No and i probably won't. I'd rather buy something from the 5 big releases...

Hello. Doing mostly fine here :) - how about you and your back?

This! Often needed for online multiplayer on the xbox...

I got the regular version of Ethan Carter.
1.) It starts the Steam client when I run it.
2.) It runs like crap even though my machine specs are plenty high.
NOT a good buy. :/

I think that is what is putting a lot of people off. Are there any that would appeal to you if they were cheaper and could play on your laptop without cooking it?

I though that Owl had finally struck and taken all the stars. :-)

But what if people remember a lot of the old technology but are younger? I mean, I have used morse code, but I am definitely not that old. :-)

How are you today, I hope you are doing good?

*big hug*
Well i actually managed a kill Sniper Elite is infamous for....oops...poor enemy...it wasn't even intended...

Yes. There are mentions of that in the forums but no answers. I sent in a ticket.
Regardless it runs unplayabley slow.

Good to know...that's really annoying. I also own it but haven't played it yet. Would be nice if they could sort it out...
Any idea why it runs so slow.?

That's understandable, especially given the high specs and price the games in the promo have.

That is not good, and something I would have thought GOG should not allow. I wonder if they even check the games properly? Did FEAR not have some DRM files that install if you press multiplayer?

I never liked the look of Ethan Carter, but then I am not a big fan of walking simulators. I have played Mind Path to Thalamus, Lifeless Planet, and Montague's Mount, but all DRM on bundle sites, as they are normally too expensive and especially not worth the price, especially Mind, IMO. Lifeless Planet was my favourite of the three, and Montague's Mount was okay (ish - more bad than good).

More badly developed and poorly optimised indie rubbish? :-)

Tired from work but OK today.
If you remember rotary phones in actual use GB must be way behind in technology.
I was like 5 when they disappeared for good here.

You're welcome.
Yeah that the main problem as i'm interested in some games from the promo....

Maybe. It's one of the best looking games i've seen....so wouldn't be surprising if they messed up the optimisation...
