My best purchase - King of Dragon Pass - I bought it without knowing anything about it, and one of the few games I ever bought at full price. I feel like I mugged both GOG and the producers...

I bought Hotline Miami on a whim, having zero previous knowledge about it, and it turned out awesome.

Then again, I also bought Fahrenheit, i.e. the worst game ever made ever.

TheTonyOne: Whelp, this is a decidedly NON political thread I'm posting, seeing as this is something I actually know about.

In any case, my biggest regret is the Realms of Arkania games. They're not bad, but I won the third one from GOG, and bought the first two to complete the series. My biggest problem with them is probably how many game mechanics are not explained, even in the manual.

Probably my favorite purchases are the Baldur's Gate series or Freespace 2. They're just good. Baldur's Gate manages to make me feel like I'm a part of the story, even though I dislike the Infinity engine due to the Icewind Dale games (Long story), and Freespace 2 is just great in its own ways.
My biggest disappointments are Eador:Masters of the broken world and Legend of Grimrock. The first one was full of bugs and overall i really liked the original game more (also, i probably won't preorder again because of this game). The second, i felt the gameplay was pretty bad compared to the older dungeon crawlers i like.

The best purchases are:
Anachronox (lost my CD !!), Space Rangers 2 (sadly not being sold here anymore), FTL and the blackwell bundle.
I discovered space rangers and all the wadjet eye games thanks to gog and i'm happy i have ^^
REGRETS:
Roller Coaster Tycoon 1
King's Bounty: Crossworlds

FAVORITE:
If I had to choose 1, it'd be Ground Control 2

Regrets:
- Alone in the Dark 1+2+3. I know that they're old games but I didn't expect that the controls would be that bad.
- Beyond Good & Evil. The boat portions gave me a headache and there were many of those.

Favorites:
- The Blackwell Bundle
- Trine

I thought I'd regret but ended up loving - None. Well, not on GOG.

I don't regret any of my purchases on GOG, because I'm very selective in what I buy, and I love all of them. But, if I have to choose one of them, maybe as an "impulsive purchase", that would be "The Blackwell Bundle", and not because I don't like the games. The problem is, I bought it the first day it was released here, and haven't played it yet (I always want to play it, but end playing something else...), and since then it has been in so many bundles by now (DRM Free and Steam)... (:P)
Regrets:
- Assassin's Creed : Directors Cut - you have to block the game from accessing internet :(
- Fahrenheit bad controls
- Postal 2 Complete

Favorite
- Broken Sword 1 - 4
- Outcast
- Deponia 1 & 2
- Duke Nukem series

Play it asap, it's really great !
Probably Gorky 17 - a game I still want to work, but is just plain broken on multiple machines. Every machine, in fact, that I or anyone I've tried it on even owns. That's pretty much against GOG's mission statement right there, but I guess they have no way of fixing it?
If it is okay with the OP I'd like to throw another option in here, best game you thought you'd regret but ended up loving.
No regrets on purchases.

Now, some of the free games, on the other hand... I don't think it's possible to have "regret" for something I didn't actually buy, but some of them have not held up well.
I think Darwinia is the only game I've bought here only to find I didn't like it. I don't "regret' it though since I got it in a 5 for $10 sale and the other games I got were good.

Not sure which I'd categorize as my favorite. Perhaps Deponia, even if it only barely agrees with my laptop. :)
The worst - Capsized. It doesn't work on my PC.

The best - this choice is hard, but there are good games like Botanicula, Incredible Machine, Papers Please, Torchlight.
No regrets :)

Many of the games I've bought, I played years ago and the nostalgia is still there even if the game didn't hold up as well over the years as I would have liked. The newer games, and the games I hadn't played previously were recommended highly here on GOG...and so far I have not been disappointed. :)

Hey that's actually a good idea...
And i'd answer FTL to that :p
