Fever_Discordia: Is he GOG version still not working right?
I found this thread on the actual Running with Scissors forum where they're saying that GOG weren't very helpful with patching their games, which is sad...

tinyE: That is the problem with old threads. :P NOW Postal works great but back in September when I posted that it wasn't. I actually made a joke a couple of months ago when the UPDATE came in that the game was going to be too easy now that you could actually control your character. :P
Good, good, glad to hear that dummies are firmly back in mouths on all sides and stuff's working right!

The thing I didn't like was the patch also fixed the "spinning corpses" bug which I really enjoyed.

Spinning corpses? I can hear them all the time... rotating in their graves...
You ever kinda regret a GOG purchase for reasons other than the quality of the game?
Sometimes I pick something up on GOG by itself and then end up with the Steam key from a bundle about a week later - Yeah, DRM free but that doesn't make it feel a whole lot different when you're actually IN game
Happened to me with Rune, IHNMAIMS and a couple of others, not a huge regret but a bit of a niggle

Also when a spanky new HD version comes out before you even thought about getting to the old one you bought - realMyst I'm looking at you!
My favorite buy might be The Banner Saga. I got it on sale for $16.00, but that is still a bit steep for me. I played through it in 3 days and loved it. Well worth the price.

My biggest regret might be Eador: Genesis or Eschalon Book 2. I haven't finished either game, as they both turned out to be a bit of a grind for me. They aren't bad games, they just weren't very compelling for me.
Biggest regret: Deponia, didn't like the humour, characters, puzzles or anything.

My favorite one: King of Dragon Pass, totally blew me away with it's charm and uniqueness.

toxicTom: Does this thread smell strange already? Ah, nvm:
Ha-ha :D It's okay. It lingered for a while (stealth-pumps will do that), but now it's finally left the stratosphere.

I don't really regret the quality of any games I've purchased on here. The only time I will regret a purchase is when it's broken to me, as Capsized is. When I know I won't touch it again.

Other than that, I've really loved absolutely everything I've bought on GOG :)
biggest regret knights and merchants..god awful game
Regret Buy: Cossacks Anthology. It's a good strategy game, but it has no heart or "mojo" as I call it, this is a purely personal feeling though. Not sure if I'll ever finish this series.

Favorite purchase: NOX. The moment you finish the game, you'll start over with the next character.

That and it's impossible. :P
Deus Ex: Invisible War.
Surprised to see that the 'most helpful first' reviews here on GOG rate it 4/5.
Even if it wasn't named Deus Ex it would be bad for me.

Best: Fallout series.
Favorite purchase is Fallout and Fallout 2, because that's what brought me here in the first place.

Worst... probably the few RTS games I got on sale. I hate playing RTS games so I have no idea why I occasionally buy them. I want to like them I guess, but I just don't.
i bought commandos ammo pack by mistake. it supposed to be a gift but i got it for myself.

i absolutely despise the game. while some of my other impulse purchases like Myst are of questionable value to me, this game im sure i won't ever play.
so its sits on my shelf remanding me of my failures in life.

fav:
hard to say: MoO 2 is an amazing game to which i want to come back every year even tough i know that i played it enough. Fallout games are great too. F2 being my favorite game of all time

but if i had to choose: my favorite purchase is PST. it sits on top of my digital shelf between baldur gates games and ICWD games. nameless eyes starring at me everytime i open My Account. yeah. i think thats my fav. purchase on GOG.

My favourite purchase without a shadow of doubt is Dust: An Elysian Tail. So much so that I've bought and given away roughly 15 additional copies to other GOGlings.

My biggest regret? Probably Enclave. It would be Daikatana, but in getting it I got other good games at a much cheaper price so it has some validity. Enclave just blows.

I've got 262 or so GOG games and I don't regret buying any of them personally. They were all so terribly cheap overall that if I divide the total amount of money spent over time by the number of games it would work out somewhere around $1.50-$2.00 per game. The way I think about it is if one of the games turns out to be not so good after playing with it for an hour or so or even a few minutes and I decide I don't want to play it anymore, it was basically about the price of a cup of coffee and easily in the "who cares" category. If one game in 2/3/4/5/<whatever number> turns out to be a kick ass game that I get dozens or hundreds of hours out of in entertainment, my total dollars expended per entertainment hour average balances out to the point that no matter how I look at it I'm getting a tremendous amount of entertainment value for almost negligible cost. It's hard to regret anything when you look at it smoothed out across games like this.

Another aspect though, is that with so many games I haven't had a chance to even look at a number of them yet too so it's hard to give an overall judgment, but I'm pretty happy with what I have nonetheless even if a lot of it is sight unseen. ;o)

My favourite purchase so far that I've actually played would have been Torchlight but I believe I got that for free in the freebie promo a long time ago. The Witcher and The Witcher 2 would be among my favourites also but I am 99% sure I won them by stroke of luck in game giveaways or promos also. For a game that I'm sure I paid for though it'd probably have to be ArmA 2 Combined Operations.

It'd be interesting to see how I answer this after having a chance to play all 262 games though hehe.
