For real people there could be laws, i just dunno what it got to do with gamers and adult content.

Games, and everything, got the price "worth it to them". If a price is to high it simply will not sell sufficiently, with all of its effects. There are many factors playing a role, scarcity is one of them; although adult games are not per se rare, ONLY the good ones... those are really very rare.

Often i see a 10 hours, non adult games, going for 20 or even 30 coins, especially metroidvania games with a high popularity and some other games can offer several times this playtime for lesser money. It got nothing to do with "how much is inside"... rather if those buying it are sufficiently valuing it which can happen to any game for different reasons.

So far they just deindexed these games WHILE sorting them manually. Those games they deindexed also still can be downloaded (at least those I tested). However they went from approx. 17000 games tagged "adult" to 47(!). So there is a whole lot of games that MIGHT get affected. IN opposite to what has claimed I personally am not aware that they actually reved games from those they have deindexed. Do we have examples (other than No Mercy which they removed months ago because of the screaming lunatics)?.

That's like this ideally. But market self-regulation to the best outcome for the customer is quite a wishful thought. It does it slowly, badly and partially.
Sometimes things stay overpriced or, more rarely, underpriced, for external and debatable reasons and "wallet karma" do not really reach. Sometimes it's just out of stubborness and the seller is likely to be hurt as well in the mid-long term, but still doesn't change their tag!

I mean "rare" in a specific sense (not quantity wise: we're drowned in it since it's easy to make mediocre tit-pics and hope to float along a bit of - mild- shock value to make up for the so-so content). It was never "them" and "the others", a right for some and not for all is not a right to begin with and it's gonna undo itself(unless the difference of possibilities is soundly grounded in different situations, of course). I definitely got no grudge because this matter is very individual and is able to affect any entity; toward women rather in some broader cases hate-love or love-hate, because i am prone to love them as my natural destiny, despite many issues and differences that may come out, and with, it. So, it can be a struggle but a struggle i love to take, because it is worth it to me. Anyway, this is purely personal and not bound to the "adult game matter" affecting the gamers in general, beyond my personal world.

In general any group, be it women, men or something in between including non binary, got a lot of bad treatment in this world and it is as well very dependable on the personal circumstances and location. The struggle or bad treatment may differ in many aspects but everyone can potentially be affected by it. I feel it is important to look from every angle toward this matter, never become stuck on a fixed point of view.

What i want to know more specific is, how you draw "your line"... perhaps those levels in order to decide "what is as a purely artistic expression acceptable" and where is the point... the level, where it becomes not acceptable anymore. What is actually the core matter, the expression and act itself, lack of expressed or clearly visible consent or everything at once?

Well, if there are so many issues world wide related to this matter, did everyone fully agree on those terms or was it rather a thing certain groups was demanding? If not, guess everyone will have to sit down together in plenum and check it out why those rights are not going as smooth as planned. As well rights are not granted, they are given... and in usual if some groups are asking for certain rights they may have to give something back in exchange, some other rights. It may not work very well if most of the rights being asked for are actually rather one sided. Although, in a patriarchy men usually are the ones able to attribute more rights to them and in a matriarchy it is obviously reverse order. I do consider it perfect if there is some sort of... rather rarely seen, balance.

We would not even discus this matter if not... it is not even being "moved" into adult games with certain demands and effects.

That statement is wrong on two levels:
1) You are assuming that people who play these games do have the actual urge to do these things in reality.
2) If the very few people who actually do have the urges to act out on them in reality would not have these games, dolls or whatever - they would act out on them in reality. Not having these alternatives would not stop the urges.

However - the devs are not aiming at the very few disturbed people, they aim for the majority of them who is pretty normal. Just read some forum threads in f95zone which is one of the biggest adult gaming forums. Even those who enjoy playing rape and domination games are extremely normal. Some even played them while their partners were with them ... they know that they are playing a game.

That's wrong as well. Tha majority of people attracted to taboo things IN GAMES are just curious. There are some victims of rape and/or abuse who do use these games to regain control - to cope with the traume - and they do help. You can find those comments in the mentioned forum as well. The majority however was not a victim to anything.

Speaking about those very few who actually are using these games to cope they don't only use these games they also have psychologic guidance. Nobody is forcing anyone to play any game ... even if they exist - it's still a CHOICE to buy and/or play them.

The adult games are not at fault ... you are blaming the wrong things here. You are paying the price for some peopel thinking that they could dictate the world what's right and what's wrong and the payment processors hyaving too much power and doing their will. That is the problem. Adult content is just a scapegoat.

So they said that less games are considered adult, thus *actually reducing* censorship warnings? Plus hoping to discourage them (on the surface) by not showing they have it (so offering them "cover", or at most creating some inconvenience that some aficionados can easily go round by manually doing a list of links (giving them a fake "forbidden" allure in the process)..

Is this "No Mercy" gonna be the new "Rule of rose", that is something that would never rise to fame if someone would not call it out in disgust. Are they actually Barbara-Straisanding the titles that are most controversial (and possibly in bad taste)? That's definitely another way to circle back to the opposite outcome..! And older producers, especially in television know it so well. They thrived on it in the nineties ("Parental advisory, explicit lyrics" and then edgy teens flock to get a CD that would likely be ignored without the -advertising- warning label)

The fall of itch.io is indeed worrying, I really can't see GOG making a stand and if anyone was interested in seeing the rest of the Rance series here... yeah, you can kiss that goodbye

No, they just deindexed them so that they have time to check them manually to find out if they could be considered to be okay according to the rulesof their payment processors or not. It is a temporary and ongoing thing. We still have to wait to see how many games will actually be removed in the end. However in opposite to GOG and Steam on itch it would mean that the download links for those who bought the games before will be gone as well.

That's actually exactly what happened with this game. There are far more extreme games out there but the collective shout group was informed about this one and started to aim at it. They attacked it on Steam - and the dev who did not want to fight or harm Steam decided to remove it. The only way to get it was itch.io and a few days later it was removed there without any announcement (download links and even discussion links also removed). Now they retracted even further to subscribestar which is not as well known as Patreon but you could call it very niche ... and now it has been shadowbanned there as well. It is a manhunt - nothing more. This group won't just say "okay, if it is only accessible to adults we are fine" they also won't say "oh, if it is only on this store it is fine" - they simply want those games to be eradicated completely. Modern book burning. They affect not just gamers but also the devs creating these games to pay their bills ... and who believe it or not ... also often have families.REAL people.

You made some few interesting points I didn't think about, but have to agree to disagree on a few other things just mainly how I feel about those types of games in general, and we'll leave it at that. At the end of the day I got too caught up in this, and I'll just going to leave everything be.

Also I found out something about that Collective Shout group I think everyone should know about and you all can just google it. People dug out some old dirt and turns out they harbored and promoted some rather disgusting and disturbing things in the past that was largely almost forgotten about until the internet reminded everyone.

Honestly most groups that behave even remotely like Collective Shout has such things they have done if not worse like they are trying to seem extremely good as a result when it cases the opposite affect making them worse with how ''try hard'' they go and usually whatever a group goes after is related to the thing they had done or had helped a being get away with or otherwise

On topic of censorship, the Online Safety Act and the Digital Services Act have just hit, making a ton of sites start requiring users from Europe to perform age verification to access (as in, scan your face, submit ID or get out). Social media also started geo-blocking posts until you do the same thing. Seen reports from X and Discord.

Smaller sites and forums with no funds to ensure such functionality are of course forced to cease operation in Europe.

So was doing research on why other thensome out of teach higher ups in payment processors why they often bend to the demands of people and threaten to cut ties ... its because the fact happened around 2018 or so where companies even payment processors that can't keep tract of what people buy can get sued and has lost for how the legal systems of pretty much every country has deemed it where not just the one putting content of specific kinds are at fault .. but also the site itself and the people who buy said things .. or pay for the service that allows access to such even if the user never knew about it nor touched it and same for the payment processors or the site owners and staff..

Its basically a issue that goes back to how laws are written that needs properly updated or specific laws put back in place and better written
