The power came back on! after 34 #$%% hours.. Was a hell of a time though:

1.)Woke up yesterday morning at between 4am from the sound of the neighbour's generator turning on, which I knew meant that the power was out.
2.)Want to leave early to avoid traffic for a class I wish to attend but find that I cannot open the motorized gate (of the people I'm renting from) due to the power outage.
3.)Wait anxiously for them to wake up.
4.)Go to class, but cannot keep my eyes open.
5.)Buy a Nestle Bar One and decide to come back home to capture some Zzz's before I start working.
6.)Find 3 workers on the roof of my flat with big-ass hammers fixing something.
7.)Nearly bust open my head against the gate while pushing it open.
8.)Choke on the Bar One.
9.)Hours tick away with no power with me desperately needing a coffee.
10.)Decide to drive to KFC for a burger and a coffee and return home.
11.)Find that the lady at KFC did not put the lid on properly and spill half of the coffee on the ground while getting out of the car.
12.)Throw out 4/5 liters of freshly squeezed naartjie juice that I spent hours making over the weekend because it had turned sour.
13.)Try to leave early again next morning but find that the owner had locked the gate.
14.)Wait anxiously for the owner to wake up.
15.)Make a very irate call to the local municipality.

....

Power on!
Needless to say I'm going to buy a big bottle/box of wine for the weekend. Sauvignon Blanc if I can afford it :P
Also, I feel like playing Transport Tycoon 2 or the original Prince of Persia...

edit : I always feel uneasy about being in a sombre mood due to some annoyance or inconvenience. After all, I could be in a country with a raging civil war :P

or I could be knee deep in water messing with electric wiring (Jeesh TinyE) ... glad you're still with us though
