WineHQ AppDB link: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=787&iTestingId=16697

Distro: Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit
Kernel version: 4.13.0-32
Graphics card: AMD RX 480 8GB
Graphics driver & version: Open source, with Mesa 17.3.2 from Padoka's stable Mesa PPA
Wine version(s) tested: Wine 3.0 (with CSMT enabled)

Install notes: Install & play.
Run the game from/create a shortcut for "Jazz2.exe"
Must disable DirectSound in the game settings otherwise it will freeze.
How well does it run: Almost perfect
Details: When playing in windowed mode the credits are not displayed when quitting (display output is blank), aside from that it seems to be perfect, as long as you make sure that DirectSound support is disabled so it doesn't freeze. Have not tested multiplayer.

The game runs at a maximum of 640x480 resolution (800x600 for JJ2+), however you can resize the game window. Note that the game will stretch if the correct aspect ratio is not maintained though; I recommend using something like Zipplet's windowsizer tool to resize the game window automatically while maintaining the correct aspect ratio.

Wine wrapper
I have put together a Linux Wine wrapper for this game. For more information, see the release thread in the game's forum: https://www.gog.com/forum/jazz_jackrabbit/jazz_jackrabbit_2_for_linux

Graphics card: AMD RX 480 8GB
Graphics driver & version: Open source, with Mesa 17.3.2 from Padoka's stable Mesa PPA
Wine version(s) tested: Wine 3.0 (with CSMT enabled)

Install notes: Install & play.
Run the game from/create a shortcut for "Game.exe"
Run "setup.exe" to configure the graphics settings before playing
How well does it run: Perfect
Details: Have fully played through the game using an earlier version of Wine, there were a few random crashes but those could just be issues with the game itself - they were only a minor nuisance anyway. The game still seems to run great so far with Wine 3.0. Tested with the widescreen fix.

Widescreen fix:
There is a widescreen fix available here: https://thirteenag.github.io/wfp#mafia
To use it you'll need to add an override for dinput8 (native, builtin).

As requested by Gydion, the md5sum of the widescreen fix I used is: e1ff285758598041e7be44d7189f8ba9 dinput8.dll

Wine wrapper
I have put together a Linux Wine wrapper for this game. For more information, see the release thread in the game's forum: https://www.gog.com/forum/mafia/mafia_for_linux

Thanks. Would you also note the hash of the widescreen fix? Also, is the GOG version not 1.x?

Why the full DX9 PlayOnLinux override? Previous, old tests worked well with no overrides.

because I couldn't get a single dll that fixed this:

Ah, OK. Can you also install the POL xact component? That correctly calls regsvr32 on the xaudio DLLs unlike the POL_Install_dxfullsetup. Assuming it still works that will simplify what you need to do under Wine to replicate what POL did.

There will be no consideration for games you don't own. Take that somewhere besides this thread, thanks.

You might just get what you wish for: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/a-linux-version-of-open-world-rpg-seven-the-days-long-gone-is-a-realistic-option.10979

There might be a chance they will port it to Linux, it is not 100% yet but at least there's talk of it.
Game: Virginia
Version: GOG 1.02a
Installer MD5:
- ecb89dc566723476e5bafd75698d8b4a - setup_virginia_1.02a_(12081).exe

Distro: Linux Mint 18 Sarah MATE 64-bit
Kernel version: 4.4.0-109-generic x86_64
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics
Wine version(s) tested: Wine 2.20-staging, CSMT disabled
WineHQ AppDB link: Virginia

Install notes: GOG installer throws some runtime error, as usual, but installation end successfully. No libraries added, pure Wine.
How well does it run: Perfect. No issues.
Details: I'm using budget laptop with Intel Pentium CPU 3550M 2×2.30GHz + integrated Intel HD Graphics on board. It was necessary to reduce resolution a bit and turn-off some fancy graphical features to make the game's performance acceptable. The game has been completed without a single issue.
