Of course you also can do it with sed only. :P
options=$(xgamma 2>&1 | sed 's/^-> Red \([0-9.]\+\), Green \([0-9.]\+\), Blue \([0-9.]\+\)$/-rgamma \1 -ggamma \2 -bgamma \3/')
(probably you also will have to apply the double space fix for GOG's forum "optimization" mentioned by shmerl above)

eiii: Have you had a chance to also try Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway meanwhile? As it seems to be the easiest in the series I'm still interested in the game when it runs with Wine.
Had no chance, but I've just tried to make quick check for you. Unfortunatelly, something seems to be wrong out-of-the-box.

Thanks for testing it! "General protection fault" doesn't look too good though.
Bought Metro 2033 and Last Light during this sale.

2033 runs very well under DXVK (v1.0.1), sometimes has a few flickering surfaces (nothing game or immersion breaking), Performance is roughly about 80-85% of Windows, On my GTX 1060 6GB I can play it at full details except
TXAA. FPS is on Average around the 75 mark and sometimes it goes even in the 90s, there were also a few dips to mid 60's. FMVs also work.

Issues: Audio can crackle, to resolve use either FAudio or Install DX9 runtime and override xaudio2_7 to 'native'.

It is great overall, I'm a few hours into it and it's been smooth sailing all the way. A pity about the lack of native version on GOG but at least it's worth it on a discount.

Haven't tested Last Light.

Tested on:

Debian 9 with Kernel 5.0.4
Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB / Drivers v418.43
Wine Staging 4.2 + eSync (TKG)

Has anyone tried the Sudden Strike games with Wine?
Can someone test this?

I've tested both games and they work fine: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/forum/topic/3812/page=1#r22481

Very good!

Have you tested GOG's files with the Linux ports as well?

Thanks for that!, I forgot about this engine since I never had the games, I won't have that excuse from today :)

I've tried. It works, however in my case it was necessary to check "Emulate a virtual desktop" option, because switching a resolution (menu and gameplay seem to operate on separate settings) caused some display issues (part of screen was not visible). "Emulate a virtual desktop" resolved the problem, but forced me to play in window-mode.

I haven't noticed such problems in Crossover 18.1.0. However, screen scrolling is a little fast, even on slowest setting.

Regarding screen scrolling - same here, I've reduced it to almost minimum. But it's rather game's fault, not Wine issue. It just seems to be poorly implemented, no smooth transition, scrolling starts full speed when edge of the screen is touched.

You both are talking about Sudden Strike 1, right?

I bought the first 2 games (the 3rd is rated garbage on WineHQ), but only have tried Sudden Strike 2 so far. It runs without any tweaks. The scrolling speed also is a bit high, but acceptable in the lowest setting.

Yes, SS1. I haven't tried SS2 yet.
