Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 25% launch discount until November 19, 11PM UTC.
The acclaimed isometric RPG now finally in a complete package that includes every bit of available content: Pillars of Eternity - Royal Edition, White March Part I & II, plus the Deadfire Pack. Dive into the sprawling, fascinating, and reactive world of Eora and discover how Obsidian turned a nostalgia-fueled project into this award-winning modern classic.

Those who don't want to fully commit can instead get the PoE - Hero Edition, White March Part I, White March Part II, or White March Expansion Pass for 40% off each until November 19, 11PM UTC.

NOTE: The new Deadfire Pack DLC is included in Definitive Edition of the game, and is free for owners of all others Pillars of Eternity editions
Also, the Royal Edition and Champion Edition of the game are no longer available for sale but will remain in people's libraries, as normal.

novemberist: This is what you get, when you purchase PoE: Definitive Edition without having owned PoE before
So you even got the preorder DLC?
avatar
Reglisse: On Steam if you own POE+ 2 DLC you are updated to the definitive edition for free.

Can we have Definitive for free on GOG too?

Yepp, I think GOG should step up and solve this mess.
Bought DE and found no DE installer.
I think GOG must make installer for DE, that will contain all of DLCs and be installed at one pass.

Really? So what exactly does DE provide, a bunch of installers for base and expansions?

I already own the royal edition and season pass.

Where is my free definitive edition, GOG?

The Definitive Edition gives you what you already have, no single bundled installer or anything else.

I know. I want a free upgrade nonetheless.
The same happened with Witcher 3.

Not to mention that I want the extra goodies that Steam buyers got for free now.
The question is probably how definitive the definitive version really is.
Finally. Every game gets a definitive edition or a complete edition when its past its time of life. Thats always how its been with Paradox titles and to be frank with most other companies. And the price drop is reasonable since the game is already old. I mean early buyers will always get screwed cause they are overhyped and buy the games to soon.

I was even thinking that 25% discount is not even worth it.

I'll wait for even cheaper.

Tarhiel: Actually, when you look at the screenshot, those installers are more compact (less files), that would be definitely worthy of owning, although I am surprised they didn´t bundle The White March together with the base game into one installer.
avatar
Cusith: Actually thats cause the post is on the linux download which has the game in a single download.

Also a fun fact the dlc for linux don't seem to need updating, while each new release on windows puts out new dlc installers
Damn, so that´s why, thanks for pointing that out, I didn´t noticed that :)

No problem. In the next sale where the game is included (probably within six months) the discount will be at least 50% on the current price. At least that's what one can expect from other experiences.
