Fortuk: I dunno, it's a GOTY edition released 2 years after launch. A game's price dropping like that eventually isn't very sudden, especially since it's meant to get people warmed up for the sequel which allows for the use of your savefile. That's why you always need to ask yourself whether the price is worth what your getting at the time that you're buying it. The lack of an upgrade path for the extras is annoying though.
Agree with you about a GOTY Ed being reasonable around now.

I think what's really done them in PR-wise is the extras. The lack of upgrade paths to those higher tiers has always been viewed badly. Now they've provided a cheap "get all the swanky extras" pack to late adopters, but left those who've already bought the Hero or Champion Eds out in the cold unless they choose to buy the whole game again.

And it would have been so simple to fix too... If they'd just put the extras in as goodies with the free Deadfire Pack, everyone would have had an option to get the complete deal (albeit at different prices depending on what parts they bought and when).

I really don't understand. I own Poe, white march 1&2. Why would I want to pay £27 for this?" It's already a total mess with different versions of the game. Will ignore this, and forget about the second one.

Maybe because you get free dlc that is actually a upgrade?

Why does it want £27 for this free item then?

What? I got it totally free and did not pay a thing.
For some reason, if I try to purchase the Definitive Edition, it actually tells me I already own Pillars of Eternity, Deadfire Pack and Royal Edition (I do have them) and won't get another copy. So, maybe is not a different entry but a pack?

Could someone who has purchased this new version post a screenshot of its content on its library to compare? I've attached the contents as Royal Edition + White March Expansion Pass + Deadfire.

Link is in the first post, goes to definitive edition, buy for £26.29.

Ah, I see what your talking about, that's not what I am talking about. I want to know why the definitive edition, which contains bits I own, and a free item costs £26.29!

Why did gog keep putting out this total nonsense they know is just going to piss off their customers. It's every post now, they are just making fools of themselves.

Thanks, so indeed this Definitive Edition is a pack of Royal Edition+Expansion Pass+Deadfire.

Will we, who own Royal Editions + all the expansion content get the Definitive Edition for free?

It definitely would be nice, having everything in one (or less files) than the original Royal Edition.

Based on this if you have Champion edition + White March season pass the following is not included:
Collector's Book
Cookbook
Guide
Concept Art
Novella

Might be different for other editions but nothing that really make a big difference for me any way. Pillars of Eternity isn't the only game that has a messed up upgrade system. I have two copies of Witcher 3 on my account.

Thanks for posting this. I have the Kickstarter Champion edition. I have a few things that aren't in your screenshot. I have everything in your screenshot except the guide.

Judging from the post above you, if you add the free dlc you have exactly what you get if you buy the definitive edition.
This doesn't seem to be like the goty edition of witcher3 where they repackaged everything.
