I suggest Zniw Adventure and Pilgrims

Indeed. I stopped at the desert part, but just the memory of it still makes me anxious.

You would think that Cat Quest 1 would be extremely family friendly with all of its pawesome cat puns and for the most part, it is. However the epilogue in the first game when you finally enter Drakoth's cat lair after defeating him is the biggest tear jerker moment I've encountered in a computer game and has me crying every single time without fail. (Note: I have not played RiME.)

While I would strongly recommend Cat Quest 1 and 2 are really great games, I'd only recommend the second when it comes to children. Also if you have a pc gamepad, you can play Cat Quest 2 in two-player co-op mode where one player controls the cat hero and the other the dog hero.

So Insurmountable has the main game and the supporter pack discounted, but not the supporter bundle? Is that intended? Do I miss anything buying the DLC and the game separately?

It gets worse. The ending is downlight painful, especially if you have a child of your own.

The gameplay becomes similar to horror in that part, where you go to a dry wasteland in which you need to stay hidden from a predator most of the time, and when you need to come out from hiding, you need to be really quick so that this predator doesn't get you.

And it becomes even more impactful because 5~10 minutes earlier, the player was exploring a serene isle full of peaceful wildlife.
