Andrey82: For example, what good game have Denuvo? MGSV? With cut out last third of game? With same missions in second Act? When almost every gamer CRIES that only first third if that game is good and other 2/3 is not? When it price on Steam dropped VERY FAST even when crack wasn't present?
Yep, that game would be a good example, because despite those complaints you scrounged from other people's experiences the game has absolutely stellar gameplay, which is specifically the part you chose to criticize Denuvo games about. The gameplay is widely praised.

Sure, the game as a whole could've been better, but it was still a great game.

Fenixp: DOOM for one.
Game gets boring very fast. And repetetive executions start to annoy very quickly. Levels also mainly the same - only two or three types of rooms. If i need game with a solo protagonist who can execute enemies with an a great animation - New Order or Old Blood is MUCH better. Even last CoD have better variety and story that last Doom.

avatar
Fenixp: Mad Max too.
Also very boring game which look like a very cheap version of GTA.

avatar
Fenixp: Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Already written why it is bad. Let me repeat:

Gameplay? Less variable that Uncharted 4. For example, no levels where you ride a car.
Graphics and detail is nothing special comparing to Uncharted 4.
Story? It is TERRIBLE and DISGUSTING! Especially, from Russian eyes: the story, characters and even some quests is awful. For example, quest where you need to burn posters with Russian cosmonauts. These men and women explored space for all the humanity, like US astronauts, and some of them payed their lives for this. All other thing is also terrible starting from extremely strange locals, problems from other countries (like cage-houses from Hong Kong) transferred to Russia and helicopter boss in the end.

And yes, i hold no love for communists or USSR (my ancestors was cossacks and suffered from them quite a lot), but this... This... I just don't have any words to describe how BAD and DISGUSTING this story, characters and background.

avatar
Fenixp: The new Deus Ex...
With an a cliffhanger in the end? An obsolete graphics? And DLC sold for real money which consists consumable items which are not re-usable? Truly a masterpiece! In marketing. :)

Pheace: the game has absolutely stellar gameplay
In this stellar gameplay:

1. Enemy soldiers and even TANKS (!) can be lifted in sky with a small balloons for capture, they easily persuaded to forget about their families and join your ranks. But other enemies rarely gets alerted by screaming comrade rocketing in the sky with an balloon. Great design and AI.

2. Box for hiding. Also looks like an implemented cheat code. And soldiers in an warzone (which consists many IEDs) never asks themselves: hey, this box wasn't here a few minutes ago! Maybe there is a bomb inside it? Great design and AI.

3. Awful multiplayer design. For example, if player who created match disconnected - everyone else is automatically returned to lobby. Host disconnected - you immediately returns to lobby - stellar gameplay! Or 3-4 enemies respawning on an point you trying to take control (especially good in Comm Control). Right on your head. Stellar gameplay! :)

4. Quiet. Of course running almost naked through rocks, bushes and jungle is very pleasant and you wont need all those pathetic clothes to protect your skin from abrasions and scratches. Oh, she is like an a plant and eats sunlight + water? Then why she wears tights which reduces food for her (sunlight and water), but doesn't protects from environment? Oh, and she says only a few phrases in the game. Great character design!

The fact that you don't like games doesn't make them bad. DOOM got a little repetitive but was a great homage to its predecessors as well as forging an exciting new game. I enjoyed Mad Max immensely as well. Was not a fan of Rise of the Tomb Raider, but that's fine. THe game itself delivered as evidenced by its ratings. Same with Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Sure, a lot of games out there aren't worth the money, but those ones are pretty damn good in most peoples' eyes.
I can imagine DOOM being a tad repetitive, but what old school style shooter wasn't?
The fun is in the manic destruction ;)

Talking of destruction, steam forums are a minefield re:Denuvo mess, few cancelling pre-orders, others calling them cry babies, some even defending Denuvo.

One even said something in defence of Denuvo as "Yes, because as PC gamers... we've NEVER seen such a service shut down before."

Such short memories since Gamespy debacle...

No hope for the future it would seem.

Yeah, DOOM is great. And even the executions that some people criticize can be avoided for the most part (and can even bring you into disadvantageous situations if you don't think through using them). Of course, -some- people would first need to actually play it to realize this...

Heh, avoiding any online drmd single-player games seems to pay off. I don't know that franchise to begin with (besides having heard the name occasionally) and care not one bit about the inability to play it*. Yeay :)

*for me personally at least. More games on gog are always welcome of course.

This is hilarious... complaining about a box for hiding... Welcome to Metal Gear. If you thought you should take everything in it serious you definitely are new to the franchise. Some other complaints are major plotpoints, lol.

Awful multiplayer design I'll agree to but then I never expected much from that and it was still fun to do for a while.

Ironically my ex, who tends to really dislike how female characters are handled in games really ended up liking Quiet and felt people needed to look beyond her skimpy outfit rather than just complain about it. (and no, just having a few lines doesn't mean she doesn't have character)

Little? What is not little then?

paladin181: but was a great homage to its predecessors as well as forging an exciting new game.
And comparing to what was done in the Wolfenstein series - it is not. :)

avatar

They both horrible.

avatar
paladin181: THe game itself delivered as evidenced by its ratings.
Then Guitar Hero and Halo - best games ever.

avatar
paladin181: Same with Deus Ex Mankind Divided.
Enjoy your DLC with usable medikits. But don't cry when few years later you will have to pay for them real money in most games.

Fenixp: Ah. In other words, no matter how good games with Denuvo are, you'll try your damnest to consider them bad.
They are bad what shown by their relatively low sales for AAA games.

Guys, eat dirt! If you never did that - never say that it is not tasty and other shouldn't eat dirt! :)

No game is perfect. Because a game has a flaw or two doesn't make it bad... That's all I'm saying.

Pheace: This is hilarious... complaining about a box for hiding... Welcome to Metal Gear.
Yep. Hid in the box - came to blind and deaf guard - jump from the box and hit him - evacuated gim by balloon - hid in the box again and go for next guard - repeat 999999999 times - stellar gameplay!!! :)

And what she have behind her look and how she reveals it NOT talking? Well, i understand that voicing characters is totally not needed and we can just guess what designer have in mind - we all have telepathy after all. :)

The fact that you keep repeating this just shows how little you know of this game, and I'm not going to spoiler it for those who still want to play it.
has Denuvo been completely cracked in any game thats been released with this piece of turd so far?
avatar
Andrey82: They are bad what shown by their relatively low sales for AAA games.
First of all, this is not true - not for DOOM which reached it sales goals and definitely not for Mad Max. Secondly, I assume you consider games like Arcanum, Planescape: Torment or System Shock 2 some of the worst games in history.

avatar
Andrey82: And what game you mean exactly?

Not a single mention of gameplay.

avatar
Andrey82: And what great in it?
The finishers you criticized so much? If you have to use them that often, you kinda suck at the game as they always put you into a disadvantageous position. The repetition is usually felt by people who play on easy difficulties and never even need to swap weapons to adjust to new situations.

avatar
Andrey82: Guys, eat dirt! If you never did that - never say that it is not tasty and other shouldn't eat dirt! :)
Oh my god, such a flawless analogy. ... Of course, aside from the fact that majority of people consuming dirt will tell you it wasn't a great experience, whereas majority of people playing DOOM, Mankind Divided or Metal Gear Solid V will tell you they're great fun. We have a nice proverb in Czech - "He who wants to beat a dog will always find a stick." As long as you actively want to dislike these games based on reports of absolute minority of players, you will. Don't try to present it as anything but that tho, considering how you're obviously just parroting negative reviews you specifically looked for as opposed to speaking from any semblance of experience.

Ah, so that's why I don't spend a lot of time on Steam forums. Yeah, I'll just keep lurking over here.
Oh, and you forgot those calling others pirates.
