EndreWhiteMane: Hello people! Glad to hear everyone is at least OK today, I'm pretty much OK too.
Moon, I hope things continue to rapidly improve for you.
Hentai? No comment. ;)
Hello, Endre !!
How is the day treating you ? any plans ? :-)
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: I'm OK today, doctors appt this morning then a relaxing day.
Who needs hentai, one of the nurses was Japanese. :-)
See, I knew I was right. You did take a few of them home :-). Who needs and animated Japanese nurse when you have the real thing. And I'm betting there are less alien tentacles and other weird stuff with a real nurse. :-)

I hope everything goes okay at the doctors, and enjoy your relaxing day!

Hi Little Owl! Day's going OK so far, just a trip to the doctor and then another lazy day.
Hope all is well with you and you get a little extra sleep this weekend! ;)
Good morning fellow GOGers.

I feel too lazy to check through the inmense backlog of unread posts, so just tell me if I've missed something important.

Yesterday I told Crow that since completing the DLC my newly found interest in Dark Souls had waned.

I lied.

This game is worse than crack

What's this about hentai and japanese nurses I see? hrrrm perhaps I should check a few of those posts afer all...

EDIT: Oh, so there was a short discussion on hentai?

*takes out pipe as he straightens his tweed jacket.*

I happen to be an expert on the topic.

Nudge, nudge, wink wink.

moonshineshadow: Good to hear that you are fine and who cares about many hours of sleep. Sleep is great (at least in my opinion). For me I'll still stick with the answer I gave to that question this morning. Could be better but could also be worse. And at least better than the last few days.

LaPtiteBete: I wasn't very present the last few days, so I must have missed something... but I'm glad you feel better now anyway :") **hug**
Nah you did not miss anything. There was nothing I wrote.

ok, that is a very good reason to skip the hentai stuff :D

tinyE: BCOD is basically an expansion for #1 so yeah, there is a huge difference.
avatar
AgentBirdnest: Bah... My mistake of course. I was thinking BCOD was the first game, and BEL was the expansion :P

I have been playing the first game, BEL.
I recall that you love Commandos. What think ye, green one? I am getting bored with the first game. Would the sequels offer less boredom, or is more of the same?
They are TOTALLY different, but for the better, well #2 is. #3 is kind of a let down and has a lot more out & out fighting and speed missions which kills the spirit of the series.

#2 however is timeless. There are easily 100 ways to complete each mission, though the way you choose will determine your end score. The missions are for the most part huge. A 1st time player may spend a day or two on each.
Whats more is just the added options: Added views (rotation), search guards (never run out of ammo and if you kill an SS Officer make sure you snag that uni for your spy, he'll be able to go anywhere without notice, minus Admiralty). You can search and or hide in almost everything. There countless hidden caves, holes, weapon stashes. Even killing has been expanded: feel free to just knock the guard out, take his cigarettes, and tie his ass up. Anyone can drive, two of the players can set boobie traps, the Thief can unlock doors/chests and climb walls/poles. I could go on and and on and on. You even get a female, Natasha to help you out! Oh and don't forget poison! Load that wine with some pills, give it to the guard and it's 'night night'. :P
OK, quick shower and off to the docs. See y'all in a bit. ;)

I'm not sure if that's what's in hentai, that's just some stuff I heard happens in some strange Japanese porn. I think it was mentioned during the Girls of GOG giveaway a while back.

moonshineshadow: Why the sad face. Was it so bad that you could not enjoy watching it together with her?

l0rdtr3k: I've watched Boku no Pico.*shudders*
Ah yes, Boku no Pico, one of /a/'s most beloved animes, universally lauded as one of the best animes ever made.

That is of course, best anime to troll someone with.

Shotacon yaoi in its purest form.

Just count yourself lucky that you were not shown the "CORN" one.

Warning extremely NSFW and more dangerous for your sanity than gazing unto the visage of great Cthulhu.

Usually the tentacles are not exactly alien, but belonging to youkai, which are japanese folklore monsters.

It's an important difference. Like the difference between the Ordo Xenos and the Ordo Malleus. Although if you get involved with any of them, you're royally screwed anyway.

Now you know.

And knowing is half the battle.

The other half is bullets.

There are different kinds of hentai. So if you ever should become interested in watching one, check the labels out before to see what kind it is.

Be glad that it does.

toxicTom: Is it comparable to The Moon Sliver by one of the community members here (can't find the name right now - not even in my PM list - something seems to be broken...)?
Genre-wise, yes, though it's much deeper and with higher production values.

avatar
ddickinson: I think it's the latter. The game is nicely designed to help guide you on the right path. I only got stuck at one point near the end, but I quickly figured it out.
I'm well stuck in the lava level now, unfortunately. I have a sense of what is supposed to be my next course, but no clue yet as to how to make it happen.

Overall the game is getting better since my last post. There are more strange wonders in the world, and the gameplay continues to be more engaging.

My only real criticisms at this point are (1) the oxygen aspect is a needless story element, since it never seems to become an issue unless you are within walking distance of the next top-up, and (2) the transitions between areas are often abrupt. An example of that is the night level where you are struggling through the dark to make it to an alien building. When you arrive the scene fades out and suddenly it's morning and you are in the valley, the building nowhere in sight. Similar is the sudden transition from the hot springs to the volcanic fields. It tends to make the game feel like a series of vignettes strung together, rather than a continuous environment.
Thank you dd and tinyE for your responses regarding Commandos. +1 for both of you.
I think I'll pick up the sequel pack this weekend.
