One of the most anticipated releases of this year is now available on GOG in its full glory – Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian Studios. The time has come to gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade is also available in our catalog. Remember that if you’ve purchased the game during its early access, you will get the Upgrade for free!

After more than 20 years you once again immerse yourself in one of the most iconic series of video games and embark on the grand RPG adventure that is here to redefine the genre, just like the original entry did all those years ago.

Prepare for the expansive and original story, a vast, detailed and diverse world, a grand, cinematic narrative, great character customization, evolved, turn-based combat based on the D&D 5e ruleset, and just so much more. Prepare for Baldur’s Gate 3!

In the third entry of this iconic series, mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power. That power may help you to survive, but there will be a price to pay, and more than any ability, the bonds of trust that you build within your party could be your greatest strength.

You’ll choose from a wide selection of D&D races and classes, or play as an origin character with a hand-crafted background. Adventure, loot, battle and romance as you journey through the Forgotten Realms and beyond. Play alone, and select your companions carefully, or as a party of up to four in multiplayer.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is truly a next generation RPG. Forged with the new Divinity 4.0 engine, it gives you unprecedented freedom to explore, experiment, and interact with a world that reacts to your choices. A grand, cinematic narrative brings you closer to your characters than ever before, as you venture through Larian’s biggest world yet.

The Forgotten Realms are as alive as they’ve never been, filled with detail and secrets to discover. Here, no adventure will ever be the same, and how you survive, and what mark you leave on the world, is up to you.

Of course, such a grand release is bound to completely overtake our gaming sessions. That’s why we’d like to invite you to join not one, not two, but seven Baldur’s Gate 3 streams on our Twitch Channel! Some of them will include a multiplayer adventure, here’s a schedule:

Thursday, August 3rd, 8 PM UTC, NoodleBeefNoodle
Friday, August 4th, 7 PM UTC, Multiplayer: KaurTube and Marc
Saturday, August 5th, 1 AM UTC, LovelustGames
Saturday, August 4th, 12 PM UTC, Multiplayer: Inanda and her son RockAndRollNerd

Clownski_: We'll look into it, thanks guys!
According to gogdb.org the incomplete version (1.7 GB) was replaced by the presumably complete one (2.2 GB) a few hours ago.
The download link in the library however, instead of pointing at bg_ost_wav.zip refers to a bgost_wav.zip (note the missing underscore) which downloads a corrupt 620 MB file.

Adding the missing underscore still downloads the old incomplete 1.7 GB zip archive.

Swedrami: What did everyone go with for their first attempt then?

I thought to make it a little more interesting and instead of the standard blank slate with one of the run-of-the-mill backgrounds I went for the Dark Urge origin, with a Human Monk.
Also in the hopes that this way there's going to be additional connection or continuity even (besides Minsc or Jaheira) to the original Baldur's Gate and/or Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal.

Solo for now, which has been manageable thus far, even on Tactician. No doubt difficulty is going to ramp up eventually, and there will be no way around teaming up.
Lolth-Sworn Drow Rogue here, identical to the one I rolled for the beta.
Mainly because I always play sneaky backstabbers for the first time around but for the positive side effect of not having to rely on that insufferable vampire prick as well. Who already got staked by yours truly yesterday and is slowly rotting away in the camp.

Can we address that 100GB is completely overkill for games? There's zero excuse for games to be so big.
First, you want to require a SSD, then you want to take up 20% of my SSD.

Congratulations Larian, it's getting a great reception could be a GOTY.
I can't wait to play BG3! Then I remember how many other CRPGs, just the CRPGs, are in my backlog and how big BG3 is, and I have a minor breakdown. I hope Larian's next game will be Dragon Commander's length.

There are games much bigger than 100GB. It's necessary because if you want a big epic RPG, all the graphics, audio, animation, etc. just take up that much space. And they're already compressed. You'd have to degrade the quality or remove content to make it smaller, and then you'd complain about that.

Get a bigger SSD? Maybe stop living in the past. Whining won't make games smaller; that's where the tech is right now.
I have been finding out what I can about the game and I am in love.

Maybe next year I can buy some new computers and then I can play it.

Until that I can be listening to the soundtrack. Down, down, down, down, down, down, down by the river......

Maybe I don't want to spend $200 more just to play a game. Stop making excuses for bad practices. It's not as if they need to include 4k textures in every game when most people still can't take advantage of them. They also don't have to include every language I'm not going to use. These things used to be optional extra downloads for those who want them, which is still the best practice. The truth is that developers don't respect people's hard drives and to be lazy include GBs of unnecessary bullshit that literally no one person will actually use all of. Instead of letting me download the language packs I need, they just include all languages, and since now a days virtually every line is unnecessarily voiced, that tends to be 30-40% of a game's files, which is preposterous.

So eat a bag of dicks if you expect me to just "stop living in the past" instead of voicing complaints about bad practices that are just the way things are now, derp. Especially when they don't need to be.

Swedrami: Anyone wondering about the alleged SSD requirement - looks like it's actually more of a recommendation than anything else.
Maybe it's a tad snappier on a SSD, but Baldur's Gate 3 boots up, runs, saves, loads and basically functions just as expected, and despite not meeting this particular requirement.
Interesting!

Ancient-Red-Dragon: I watched some video reviews of this game, and as expected from the artwork and gameplay videos that were released earlier, literally every single character in the game is aesthetically displeasing to look at, a.k.a. ugly. D:OS 2 had that exact same problem too.

I'm not sure why games like this get such high ratings from most gamers despite all of the characters being hideous.
avatar
eric5h5: They're not hideous at all. It's bizarre you'd even think so. Maybe go see an eye doctor.
Do you get paid for defending Larian? If not, its you who should see a doctor. You keep telling people to not live in the past, to move on and finally buy a few tb ssds AND you defend graphics that look like they were coded fifteen years ago. BG3 at best is Skyrim-level, nowhere near to a quality title like A Plague Tale.

I wouldn't say the characters look that bad.....that said, I find it interesting(though i'm not
surprised to see) that there is a junk customization option, but not a breast customization option.

*Larian puts in junk customization options*
NuGamers(and review sites): "It's totally cool having more options!"

*Larian THINKS about putting in breast customization options*
NuGamers(and review sites): "Omg that's totally misogynistic! How.....dare....you"

J Lo: I faced the same dilemma when I levelled up Lizzy (is it okay if I call Lae'zel Lizzy?)
What's your party setup?

Mine's Karlach as a Wildheart Barbarian, Lae'Zel as a Battle Master fighter, Shadowheart as my Cleric and my half-orc MC which is a Berserker barbarian. I will probably face a couple problems with my almost completely melee focused party, but I think I'll be mostly fine, I can swap Gale in when I'm in a pinch. :P

For me, that immense amount of visual displeasure greatly ruins my ability to enjoy such games which suffer from these problems.
?? Your avatar is aesthetically displeasing - but nobody has complained about it yet.

But I get it. Your post is written as if roleplaying the Red Prince. You are trying to be pretentious and image-obsessed to play that role. Bravo!

Oddly enough, I'm seeing the exact oppostie play out. People pearl clutching over having junk customization while simulataneously complaining that there's no breast slider.
This game is a must
Perfecty to have it here
