This works brilliantly- thanks.

Only problem is that it does crash sometimes, in a variety of situations (turning round, opening a chest... etc).

I'm on Win XP and using HD radeon with the correct fix procedure followed.

Any ideas?
Just wanted to add my thanks as well. Now have one of my all time faves running great on my Alienware r3. Thanks again!

try updating your radeon drivers. if that does not help, you should consider downgrading your drivers to catalyst 9.4, that would allow you to use the standard version of TGfix. unfortunately, that is only possible with hd2000/3000/4000 cards, as the 9.4 driver does not support anything above that.
The latest version of TGfix with the new install file worked perfectly. Thanks.
Works perfect for me, thanks.

Latest drivers did not fix it. However, I removed them and put in Catalyst 9.4 as you recommended, then re-installed Thief and TGfix, and now it runs solidly with no crashes at all.

For anyone who might need to do something similar: I'm on Win XP with a Radeon HD 4890.

Thanks a lot for your help!
Thanks for this! Downloading now. I'm excited to play this game. I've always heard awesome things about it.

I hope someone does a similar post for Thief 2 soon.
as soon as the thief2 forum pops out, I will. or are they going to use this subforum? anyway, for now: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106

check the latest post for beta releases. also, I haven't tried out GOG compatibility yet, so as usual, use at your own risk.
1.04 is out, check the first post. integrated the texture pack mentioned here

Any idea what could cause the videos to not work? Tried everything, including re-encoded videos, and can''t seem to get a solution. Windows 7 professional 64 bit. Tried running as admin (and not) tried tgfix, no tgfix, newest ddfix. No help.
codec hell, I would assume. I have tried tgfix on quite a number of pcs, some of them did not play the videos-in that case, removing all codec packs and getting cccp has always helped.
Codec hell it was! Thanks for the help.
1.05 is out. replaced the 8bit marshmallows in the second mission for something that actually looks like a sky.

"hmmmm... I understand GoG wants to keep the game as close to the original as possible... "

You know the idea that GOG tries to keep games as close to the original as possible isn't always true... for example their release The Beast Within (GK2) includes the fan patch that removes interlaced graphics from the videos.

In some ways out of nostalgia I prefer the interlace videos, and would like to have that option as well... I don't know if its possible to 'remove' the patch...

That, and there is that unsightly "& Gabriel Knight Project 2K www.gabrielknight2k.tk" overlay when the program firsts loads... I don't want to see unofficial company logo/title...

As for TGFix, is there anyway to get Bloom/HD to work on Thief Gold, or does it only work with Thief 2?
