Bug Fixes

Grid Combat

• Fixed issue during Eldritch Trials where the wave number displayed on lower center UI read 00 when reaching wave 100.
• Fixed issue where Fow-chan was not gaining XP from random scenario missions in Grid Combat, was only working in the Eldritch Trials and Space Combat random scenarios.
• Fixed missing Fow-chan DEVA portraits when viewing character info and the character queue.

UI

• Fixed text on the Credits button when on the main menu, it was displaying Exit.
• Fixed issue where Fow-chan’s carousel video was missing from the Main Menu.

Audio

• Fixed issue with track “Unassco” in the Jukebox not playing and instantly skipping to the next track.

Known Issues (Does not include all issues)

UI

• Some UI elements are currently loading at low resolution.
• Some SFX on buttons are missing.
• Taron’s shop UI has a work in progress layout in the 1.0 version, this will be changed in a later patch.

Navigation

• There is 1 anomaly in the Hydra Nebula that is not accessible due to a future update.

Space Combat

• Some boss fights may still need tuning based on sponginess and player feedback.
• Improved Gamepad Support.

• Blythe’s “W” attack will receive a VFX overhaul.
• Damage preview is not accurate in some cases.

Pandora

• The sweat skin is not noticeable when the Visual Effects setting is set to lower than high.
• Blythe shrank a few inches during her neutral idle! She should be back to normal height in a future patch.
• Some lighting issues persist on certain Pandora scenes at settings lower than the max.

Dialogue Sections

• A few visual novel scenes still need additional revamping.
• Erark’s hologram cuts off at the elbows.
• Some physics issues persist on characters like Celestina and Huntress.

Audio

• Taron’s audiotapes are not yet in the game.

Outfits

• There are clipping issues with the new outfits.

Performance

• Reports of crashes during the dialogue sections of the game.
• Alt-Tabbing potentially can cause the game to crash, especially during areas of the game where high loads take place.
• Yellow/White screen flashing artifact during space combat when using the FXAA aliasing method. Most likely due to the lens flare and or high bloom values.
• Switching through waifus quickly in the Gifting section of the Bar might not load the Gifting UI. Leaving the room and re-entering can fix this temporarily.

NOTES

• If you encounter pak file decompression related crashes try verifying integrity of game files as this usually fixes the issue.

Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer's Legacy

Updated to 1.7.32

Changelogs from SteamDB:

Patch 1.7.31 fixes almost 31 bugs!

This patch fixes roughly thirty bugs. Some minor, some fairly major. Among the major bugs fixed is one that caused many smaller quests not to resolve correctly. We haven’t had a chance to check all the instances in which this applies, but we hope that this should be largely something of the past now. Many thanks to all the players (special shout out to Crystal Clod!) that have been so diligent in making reports to our discord server.

Bug fixes:

• Outside the training area you cannot investigate beams of light.
• Dealing with a world machine or spirit tree only triggers a quest end when it was the active quest or when you didn’t have an active quest.
• Plants and mushrooms are no longer allowed to ‘repurpose’ an area in a settlement.
• You are not brandished as a thief for taking items from a monster hoard.
• Quests to achieve a diplomatic status with a clan are actively suppressed when that status is already reached.
• Correctly resolves ‘[AT HERE]’ in the HUD prompt for local quests.
• Adds lines for traveling healers when they cannot help you.
• Teleporters (hidden or otherwise) cannot accidentally be placed in too tight spaces.
• Fixes no less then 6 occurrences of texts that read ‘the the’ (where one the would have been enough).
• Exploring spirit realms closes the associated quests more consistently.
• Fixes an instance in which the secondary entrance into small caves was broken.
• Reduces the chance of wall decorations floating around after they are generated in the wrong place.
• Summoned creatures never gain the ability to talk (and thereby the power to make demands).
• If you complete the machine part quest, but fail to return to Haven, a little raven brings the missing part to Haven so that the world isn’t lost.
• Key items are never hidden in containers that are marked to disappear when a site is looted.
• Repairing and boosting scrying stone completes the associated quests more consistently.
• Dark stone rings no longer stack.
• Prevents a case where you could interact with objects through walls.
• When an inscription reveals a location, the location really appears on your map.
• Potential fix for soft locks while traveling on the map.
• You are only prompted with a local quest to uncover iron and similar resources when a clan sent you there for that purpose. (Might not work for existing worlds)
• Imperial loot should spawn correctly.
• Restores key features of the Unformed Labyrinth that went missing in some cases.
• When you cannot claim a keep because nobody asked you to, the flag pole in the keep makes this clear.
• Possible fix for blurred screen soft lock when inspecting other wayfarers.
• The exit of a serpent path should not go into a lake or to the top of dandelion highland sites.
• Picking up lost heirlooms completes the quests to find them.
• Fixes a case where the passage onto the lake with the flow elemental failed to generate.
• Heavy armor with 2 or 3 root sigils provide more than just root protection.

Patch 1.7.32 lets new players leave the temple in Haven again.

Just like previous week, our main effort has been fixing the bugs that were reported to our Discord Server. We have mostly caught up with the issues that were easily reproduced. We are especially happy to report that the newly introduced issue that prevented new players from leaving the temple in Haven has been fixed.

Our top priority bug right now is an issue that is causing the wrong quests to register as complete at the wrong location and time. Unfortunately this issue has so far proven to be quite elusive. If you encounter it please send in a report!

Bug Fixes:

• While still onboarding you can leave the temple after you committed to the first quest.
• Prevents underground rivers from spawning too high and creating accidental underwater tunnels (cool as they may be).
• Taking casts at a forge no longer counts as stealing.
• Adds the missing text for serpent gate quests.
• Activating and deactivating serpent gates has an effect on the sky magic level.
• When returning to the temple in haven travel gear is automatically repaired alongside weapons and armor.
• When creatures drop meat, skins, and furs more consistently when they are defeated.
• Quest items are correctly placed in dandelion deep cave levels.
• The generator can move ramps when they are generated in too tight spaces.
• The robbery encounter should no longer try to advertise itself in the HUD.
• Correctly filters out a few incorrect combinations of the spire ruin level template for new worlds.
• Defeating all enemies of a random encounter more consistently ends that encounter so that the level registers all threats have been dealt with.
• Solves a possible soft lock while traveling caused by a ‘machine event’.
• Unfortunately placed spawnpoints can no longer interfere with the orientation of a doorway.
• Clarified that to operate a specific abacus you first need to find a clue.
• Fixing some minor text issues.

Updated from 0.9.1.19 to 0.9.2.7

Changelog from SteamDB:

Content Patch 0.9.2.0 - Changelog

Hello everyone!

Meet patch 0.9.2.0, bringing a wealth of new content focused on Brigands and their Bastions, along with various fixes and improvements. There's also one previously unannounced surprise that we'll reveal below…

ADDITIONS

Important: due to changes to the Bastion generation algorithm, all previously saved dungeons have been reset. This means that if you have a save in a dungeon, loading it will spawn you outside.

• Added 3 new Bastion Contracts: “Underground Workshops”, “Stolen Shipment”, “Hostage Rescue”.

• Added 3 new Bastion Conditions: “Iron Discipline”, “Hefty Stockpiles”, and “Revelry”.

• Added numerous new room templates to the Bastions.

• Added one new Catacomb Condition: “Rite of Ascension”.
• Overhauled the Brigand faction to make their tier progression more gradual and visually distinguishable. Many old Brigands received new abilities, stats, and sprites.
• Added 13 new Brigand types, including 3 Mini-Bosses.

• Added 11 new Brigand abilities (7 of which are connected to one of the Bastion Conditions).

• Reworked each character’s unique perk:

• Dirwin - “Ranger's Grit”:

Starts the game with "Make a Halt" already learned.

Grants "Butchering" 20% chance to harvest pelts, regardless of the damage type used to kill the animal. Increases this chance by 1% and grants +1% Experience Gain (up to +20%) for each Hunting Ground visited for the first time.

Grants 1 Ability Point and 1 Stat Point for every 3 Ability Points invested into the "Survival" tree.

• Jorgrim - “Blood and Glory”:

Allows "Butchering" to harvest various trophies from Mini-Bosses.

Delivering a trophy while turning in a contract grants additional +10% Reward and +10% Reputation. Also grants 1 Stat Point and +2% Weapon Damage for every 3 trophies delivered for the first time (up to 5 times).

Killing enemies grants +5% Experience Gain for 60 turns (the effect stacks up to 10 times).

• Arna - “Vow of the Feat”

Each enemy within Vision increases the rate of "Heroism", "Optimism", and "Prudence" activation by 20% (up to 100%) and grants +5% chance to trigger "Second Wind".

Each received level improves the effects of positive Psyche states by 3%. Additionally, reduces the cooldown between their activation by 50%.

Killing dangerous enemies grants additional Experience depending on the character's level.

• Jonna - “Magical Erudition”

Grants +5% Power of the corresponding School and +5% Miracle Potency for each unique magic treatise in the Inventory.

Grants -1% Backfire Chance for each magic treatise read for the first time. Grants +1% Experience Gain for each Ability Point invested into Sorcery trees.

• Velmir - “With Great Vengeance”

Killing Mini-Bosses replenishes Morale and Sanity.

If there's a Boss or Mini-Boss within Vision, applies all enemies within Vision with +1.5% Damage Taken for each Mini-Boss killed for the first time (up to +30%). Grants +1.5% Experience Gain for each Mini-Boss killed for the first time.

Grants +10% Reputation Gain and 2 Stat Points for each killed Boss.

• Added 55 new weapons and armor pieces, 17 of them unique.

• Added new rare hunting trophies: Gulon Liver, Wolf Tongue, Moose Kidney, Troll Gland, and Boar Tusks.
• Added three new dishes: Taiga Rassolnik, Gulon Liver in Apples, and Glazed Wolf Tongue.
• Replaced Giant Rats with Rat Swarms.

• Added wild bird nests with lootable Eggs.

• Added Rats to certain locations as small neutral animals (similar to Crabs)
• Added Seaweeds to beaches, which can replace vegetables in certain cooking recipes.
• Added a new plant - Lavender
• Added Owls to the woods
• Added new Caravan Camp animations to Leif and Verren.

CHARACTER PACK

And now for the promised surprise: we're excited to present a free Character Pack, adding three new playable heroes - each with their own unique perk, starting equipment, and lines!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3423690/

• Mahir of Jacinth. A follower of the ancient teachings that interpret the Path to Truth quite literally, Mahir draws strength from long journeys and the relentless pursuit of self-improvement.

• Leosthenes of Nistra. Trained from childhood to serve as an Agemon, a bodyguard to the Great Despot, Leosthenes knows better than anyone that traditional warfare and magic are far from mutually exclusive.

• Hilda of Fjall. This seasoned huntress and shipwreck survivor relies not only on her own prowess but also on the blessings of the spirits, which she appeases with regular offerings.

We hope these new heroes and the mechanics they bring will add a bit of novelty to your adventures before the proper implementation of Custom Characters ;)

BALANCE

• Significantly increased the duration of most dishes’ effects.
• Increased the amount of Experience granted for killing most enemies.
• Adjusted some cooking recipes to allow for more flexibility.
• Added a new stat, Abilities Energy Cost, that acts as a base coefficient, while Skills Energy Cost and Spells Energy Cost serve as its modifiers
• Expanded the range of the Backfire Chance stat: it can now go into negative values, allowing it to properly reduce the base Backfire Chance of spells.
• Caltrops now do more damage when thrown and will no longer break when hitting the target directly.
• The “Miasmas” Condition: reduced the base Intoxication Gain (independent of the Dungeon’s danger level) by 20%.
• Adjusted the Supply and Demand system to track each Commodity type individually. In practical terms, buying or selling grain will no longer affect the prices of coal, for example.
• Ranged enemies will now drop their remaining ammunition if they have any left upon death.
• Reduced the negative impact of Followers and installed Caravan Upgrades on Fodder Consumption.
• Reduced the base price of Fodder.
• Reduced the amount of Fodder received from most ingredients.
• Reduced the base repopulation time for Distant Dungeon by 4 days.
• “Cleaving Strike”: increased the base Bleed Chance.
• “Onrush”: increased the base Weapon Damage bonus.
• “Mutilating Lunge”: increased the base Bleed Chance.
• “Cut Through”: increased the base Weapon Damage and Armor Penetration bonuses.
• “Onslaught”: reduced the base Daze Chance.
• “Armor Break”: increased the base Daze Chance.
• “Arcane Lore”: reduced the bonuses by half.
• “Will to Survive”: reduced the scaling of the Damage Taken bonus by half.
• “No Time to Linger”: no longer allows “Sudden Lunge” to be used without spending a turn, instead granting it a significant Weapon Damage bonus and greatly reducing its Energy Cost and Cooldown Duration.
• “Impaling Lunge”, “Precise Hits”: the effects are now also activated if the target is affected by “Net”.
• Changed and fine-tuned the stats of many items.

QOL

• Improved camera handling while edge panning and moving it with MMB. Holding MMB no longer resets when hovering over UI elements, and edge panning now allows for smoother, more precise camera movement instead of being limited to cardinal directions and diagonals. Additionally, edge panning now works with the Global Map.

STABILITY

• Fixed the crash caused by activating the “Sleep” effect while moving items into the Caravan Storage.
• Fixed the rare crash caused by “Defiled Remains”.
• Fixed the softlock caused by Girruds dying on the same turn as using “Tongue Pull”.
• Fixed the Esc key softlock caused by removing a currently active mode's icon from the hotbar.

FIXES

• Distant Dungeons will now close one day after being cleared instead of immediately after arriving at the Caravan Camp or a Settlement.
• Fixed the bug that caused the Well of Souls to stop spawning Wraiths indefinitely after summoning three of them at the same time.
• Fixed Life Drain triggering twice when reflecting damage.
• Fixed Contract-related debuffs with indefinite duration (such as the “Curse of Decay” applied by the Grimoire) being removed from the character after receiving a similar but finite debuff from a basic enemy.
• Improved the system for spawning contract items (such as Anatomical Diagrams) in Dungeons, allowing them to be more evenly distributed rather than appearing mostly on the first floor.
• Fixed the bug where the Expiration Time of Cabbage would reset after splitting it into parts.
• Fixed one of the Craftsmen at the St Wald's Bridge repairing incorrect item types.
• Fixed the hover of Leeches displaying incorrect stats.
• Fixed the incorrect positioning of pop-up hints on certain screen resolutions.
• “Unstoppable Force”: fixed the interaction with “Keep Them Coming” to allow the activation of “Mighty Swing”.
• Restored the missing Orient Quiver and Reinforced Bolt Quiver.
• Fixed the issue with Charge skills' targeting around multi-tiled enemies.
• Fixed the money exploit in the Brynn Bank.
• Fixed some dishes missing their intended Crit Efficiency bonus.
• Fixed the incorrect categorization of “Seal of Finesse”.
• Fixed the bug allowing the Manticore to sometimes occupy the same tile as a Runic Boulder.
• Fixed the issue preventing some unique items from spawning.
• Fixed Bran missing his Damage Dealt stat.
• Fixed the possibility of activating positive drug effects while affected by “Aftermath”.
• Fixed the bug preventing rain in some locations.
• Fixed the momentary “blinking” effect displayed by every Crowbar in the inventory when prying open locks (now it will be displayed only by the actively used ones).

AI

• Enemies are now capable of using abilities while in smoke.
• Fixed animals ignoring thrown items.
• Animals in settlements will no longer flee if the player disturbs the order there.
• The Brynn Hospital Patients will now longer flee if the player disturbs the order there.
• Fixed fleeing Wolves incorrectly switching their AI state when affected by “Howl”.

• Wigmar now has his own special Contract dialogues, descriptions, and certain other phrases related to them.

Edit: Changelog is available now.

Build 0.0152 (2025-03-30)

Knights of the Chalice 2

Updated to 1.85 for Windows and Mac.

Changelog from SteamDB:

Knights of the Chalice 2 Version 1.85

Hi everyone! Here's a small update for Knights of the Chalice 2.

• Fixed a bug where an attack of opportunity (AOO) against a character casting a spell would cause a freeze. This would happen only if the character has performed an attack in the same round before receiving the AOO, and the enemy performing the AOO comes right after the character in the initiative list, and the AOO knocked out the character. Thank you so much Badger for helping with this!
• Fixed an AI issue with consumable items that activate an offensive spell being ignored by the AI in combat.
• Fixed a sprite display problem with one of the goblin armour types (brigandine) which wouldn't be displayed when the creature moves in combat.
• Added new humanoid modular sprites: one for an Ooze-like character and two for Shadows. There's a male and female version for each one. Also added a corresponding hair sprite for each one of those. I've been working on these for use in KotC 2 The Dark Arena and other modules.

Please don't hesitate to email me at enquiries@heroicfantasygames.com if you find any bugs and annoyances, so that I can fix the game quickly.

Die in the Dungeon update for 29 March 2025
EA Update 5: The Big Relics Update!

Hello everyone!

Today's update is all about relics, bringing new content and changes to increase run variety when relics (and curses!) are offered as rewards. We've also adjusted some rarities and tweaked a few behaviors based on community feedback. Let's go through the changes!
12 New Relics!

Twelve new relics of all rarities are now available in all runs, with a special focus on supporting more offensive playstyles. The relic selection algorithm has been adjusted to increase the variety of relics offered during Elite Battles, Treasure tiles, and Boss tiles. We're planning to continue expanding the relic pool over time, hoping to incentivize even more diverse builds in the future!

By the way, you might have noticed this already, but some of these relics are designed as shout-outs to content creators who have played the game over its many iterations, helping us reach even more players. Can you guess who we’re talking about? Here’s a quick reference for those who just want to know:

- Wandering Helmet - Wanderbots
- High Wizard Cloak - Olexa
- Visionary Egg - Northernlion
- Caffeinated Feline - Sodapoppin
- Corrupted Mushroom - Vinesauce
- Top Hat - Silithur
- Equestrian Piece - checkmate101

4 New Curses!

Are you one of the brave amphibians taking on the toughest challenges in difficulty levels D5 and D6? Well, we’ve got some good (or maybe bad?) news for you: the curse pool just got bigger!

When designing curses, we aim for a balance between drawbacks that make runs more challenging while also opening up potential synergies. But that’s not always easy! Got an idea for a curse or relic? Drop it in the comments or join our discord server to discuss directly with the community!

Let us know what you think about these new relics and curses! Which ones are your favorites? Which might need a few adjustments? Your feedback is always helpful!
