Season 1 can be painfully boring.

Nergal01: . Admittedly, season 7 is the weakest season of DS9

Breja: What? I'm sorry... what? It's no worse than the previous two season, and waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than 1-3.
Alright now into Season 4 of TNG.

Season 3 was good really good.

So anyway. What are the best episodes to expect in Season 4?
family the episode right after the best of both worlds part 2 is awesome
and gives us a rather rare glimpse in picards family life

i rather liked data's day too

Saw Family

That episode certainly futhered the character development of the crew.

This is a great season!

"Family", "Brothers", "Reunion", "Future Imperfect", "Data's Day", "The Wounded", "Clues", "The Drumhead" and the season cliffhanger "Redemption, Part 1". All of them good or even great!

Can I ask I recommendation? So the TNG movies came out after the TNG series concluded yes? So I like to ask how do want me to see the movies? For example:

1. Should I watch the movies in tandem with watching Deep Space 9 and Voyager? As in say I watch the first 2 seasons of Deep Space 9 before watching Star Trek Generations?

or

2. I can completely ignore Deep Space Nine and Voyager and watched the movies anyway?

You can ignore them, there are some small nods to the shows, but nothing major. Generations has none. In First Contact Worf is not on Enterprise in the beginning, but on Defiant, the ship from DS9, and the holographic Doctor from Voyager has a cameo (actually it's not him but the same actor as another hologram), the Dominion War from DS9 is mentioned in Insurrection as sort of a backdrop for the movie, and in Nemesis the captain from Voyager has a cameo.

No big Spoilers of Deep Space 9 and Voyager than?

You know I might aswell do both first watch the movies ignoring the remaining series' than watch both movies and series in tandem in the order of release date in order to get context.

Not really. Unless you count "Federation wasn't destroyed" and "Voyager eventually returned to the Alpha Quadrant" as spoilers, but that much was obvious for anyone form the start I think.

It's possible there is something in Nemesis, some line of dialogue, that might spoil some of the Romulan episodes of DS9, but I don't think so.

That whole Dominion War of DS9 sounds like a more groundbreaking event in Star Trek history than whatever the plot to Inssurection introduced.

TNG Season 4 episode 13 Devil's Due.

I see why they casted Patrick Stewert as Ebenezer Scrooge in his version of A Christmas Carol :D

Oh, there is no comparison. It's the biggest "event" we get to see. Even the Borg attack in TNG and the wipeout at Wolf 359 is after all coverd in two episodes. The Dominon War is two whole seasons (more than that really, but the last two seasons are the total, all out war).

By the way, since you enjoy the political/war side of Star Trek more, you might be interested in Axanar. It's shaping up to be a really interesting fan production, in fact even the Prelude short movie they already have is quite good. And having seen TOS recently you should still remember Garth of Izar.
By the way, you people have tricked me into watching "the doomsday machine" yesterday, and therefore i hate you all.
