Has anyone tried this game on Linux with Wine?
I've got a more or less strict 'No Tux, No Bux' rule, but I'm totally willing to break it for this one (provided I'm able to play it, that is). :P
I had no luck. I tested it with Debian 8 and Backportkernel 4.6 and R9280X with proprietary fglrx driver. I used playonlinux with wine 1.9.18-staging and 1.9.19-staging. I tried to install vcrun 2013, 3dx9, 3dx11 and dotnet 4.5 but the game always chrash while loading the mainscrren. Installation works and the 2 intro video, too.
But the game does not run jet for me. Perhaps anybody has an idea. Here is the output from starting the game from cli:
/usr/share/playonlinux/playonlinux --run "Zenith" %F

I think the problem is 3dx11....if I google that problem I have found another game, with the same message: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=33920
Here is the bugreport: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41295
Hope I could help and I hope anybody finds a solution....
The thing I've noticed with a lot of games lately is that they tend to have a DirectX 9 fallback mode and for some reason when you run them in Wine they want to use DirectX 11. So all you need to is disable DirectX 11 support in your prefix by disabling it in Wine's configuration utility.
Once you disable DirectX 11 in Wine, most games will simply use DirectX 9 and will play just as well as if they had DirectX 11 support.
I had no luck. I tested it with Debian 8 and Backportkernel 4.6 and R9280X with proprietary fglrx driver.
Thanks for the info though (and for the effort!)
The game more than likely has DX9 support but Unity games (I can tell it's a Unity game by Patsche85's terminal output he/she posted :P) like to default to DX11 for whatever reason.
