Which side are you on, boy?

Black Moon Chronicles, an epic fantasy RTS about choosing the right ally and going to war, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Wismerhill is not a hero, yet when he comes into possession of a small kingdom, he knows he must become one and fast. War is brewing and the half-elf must choose who to side with, in order to ensure that the kingdom of Garundel does not get swallowed whole by the tidal waves of history.
Wismerhill can fight alongside one of four factions, each with its own personality, units, and unique advantages. Throughout his adventure he will hire new soldiers, research new unit types, spells, and abilities, fortify his castle, and pit his regiments against those of his enemies. Preparation for battle is key, but the tactical decisions you make during the real-time combat may prove to be of equal -if not greater- importance. Will you manage to maintain, and perhaps even expand the kingdom of Garundel amidst the chaos?

Guide an upstart king towards greatness and rewrite the Black Moon Chronicles, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Bethezer: Wait... can we listen to the music outside of the game, or not? Because it's what I mean - the music could be listend and copied from game CD, to listen it separetly.

And why can't you? Not enough time for it, or it's a legal thing?

Thiev: You can find MP3 / OGG files in game folder.
As for the other question - legal issues.
Thanks for the info! :D

And I hope you manage to get it as goodie, with high quality. And maybe some other stuff... but still - great addition to GOG.

<whispers> Persian Wars.

doccarnby: Oh, sweet! I've been intrigued about this series for a while, but sadly the comics weren't translated to English, so this is probably the closest I'll get to that.

Unless GOG wants to add the comics as bonus material for the game? Eh, eh? :v

JudasIscariot: Yeah, no, that's not going to happen. Sorry to burst your bubble :(
Yeah, we know... but we can still dream? Maybe Humble or Groupees someday will add it...
Neat. :) I'm curious what else is worth releasing (and not legally entangled) here:

Got a chance to play Salammbo? Good storytelling, got me hooked for a couple of days; although, well, it's a little weird in a way.

Hopkins FBI: brutal to the bone. First Linux game I've ever played!

Yes, so many great games! Some of my favorites are: Lost Eden, Commander Blood, Riverworld, China, Hopkins FBI, KGB, Ring and Ubik.
Nice this looks awesome, will have to make time for it.
Black Moon Chronicles is one of the greatest and severly underdeveloped games at the same time. In its basis it's really entertaining RTS, with quite interesting plot (although there are some differences in comparison to comic's plot,
for example origin of Wismerhill's sword and armor were strongly connected with his first encounter with dragon knight (and they were definitelly hostile), but in game Wismerhill has his blade from the beginning, before meeting with dragon knights)
Sadly, it has serious problems with controlling your units and AI. Not to mention about lack of multiplayer. I really wish that this game could have at least a couple of months more of developing. But I really like this game, despite all painful lacks.

By the way - there is also misterious disappearance of siege towers (they're introduced in bestiary, but other than that they're absent).
Reviewer compared it somewhat to Warhammer Dark Omen, instabuy. Looks cool either way.
4GB RAM? Maybe this really is a typo?

Seriously, GOG, is it really that hard to address this? Is the the listed 4 GB memory requirement a typo or what? I would consider getting this, but the 4 GB memory appears rather out of spec considering the other requirements which are rather modest by comparison.

Clearly, there may not be any one there when I post this, but please consider addressing this when you guys are in the office. I am sure will not take long to do so.

To be expected.

Gameplay-wise, how is this compared to Myth? That's the RTT game I really adore.

Sadly I think I got as far as installing it then got distracted and didn't get back to it. One of my many failed attempts at gaming due to lack of time / competing priorities.

Wow I never realised they had so many games out. I have a few of their exploration type ones (myst style wandering about), China: he Hidden City, Versales 1685 that I never finished, would love to see them come here and I can retire the discs. Though I'd keep some of the stuff that came with Versles, I think I have like map that came in the box.

Looks interesting.
This is a very interesting game from the good old times of Cryo.

Would be great if the the soundtrack could be made available in high quality files; like FLAC. It's definitely one of the best there are.

tburger: 4GB RAM that's a lot for a game from 1999 :-P
avatar
Vythonaut: 4GB RAM was a sci-fi scenario back in '99. :P

SolDaeDra: Clearly, some work was done to make it run better on modern systems, but the other listed minimum requirements are very modest compared to the 4 GB memory requirement.

This has to be a typo of some kind. Can't we get some official clarification on this?

DABYX: 4Gb RAM? Well that's me out atm.

Would also like some clarification!
