Which side are you on, boy?

Black Moon Chronicles, an epic fantasy RTS about choosing the right ally and going to war, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Wismerhill is not a hero, yet when he comes into possession of a small kingdom, he knows he must become one and fast. War is brewing and the half-elf must choose who to side with, in order to ensure that the kingdom of Garundel does not get swallowed whole by the tidal waves of history.
Wismerhill can fight alongside one of four factions, each with its own personality, units, and unique advantages. Throughout his adventure he will hire new soldiers, research new unit types, spells, and abilities, fortify his castle, and pit his regiments against those of his enemies. Preparation for battle is key, but the tactical decisions you make during the real-time combat may prove to be of equal -if not greater- importance. Will you manage to maintain, and perhaps even expand the kingdom of Garundel amidst the chaos?

Guide an upstart king towards greatness and rewrite the Black Moon Chronicles, DRM-free on GOG.com.

HenitoKisou: EDIT. And for some reason this game never adds to wishlist even if it shows as such on game card...
Same problem here - shows as wishlisted on the game card but is NOT shown in my wishlist.
This looks interesting. The perspective reminds me of https://www.gog.com/game/tzar_the_burden_of_the_crown
Ooo, this looks nice. I positively suck at RTS (too much going on at once), but I enjoy them anyway. I must add this to my collection. Wishlisted until payday.

WBGhiro: This is nice but I wasnt Salammbo
I've given up on GOG ever getting this one, so got it from FireFlower.

Wolfram_von_Thal: I'd recommend to buy it on fireflowergames.com instead, for two reasons: a.) It's a charming little shop with nice people that deserves your love and b.) it's half the price compared to the always notoriously overpriced dotemu. ;)

http://fireflowergames.com/shop/salammbo/
IIRC, it was something around $10 when I got, so the price drop must be relatively recent.

But I wholeheartedly agree on the first point.

timppu: DotEmu has it though (DRM-free), just in case you really want it.

When did that shop appear? Catalog-wise, it looks like something at the crossroads between Shinyloot, Gamersgate and Dotemu.

The prices seem rather on the heavy side: Dracula 1-3 for 18€ (10 on Gog), The Amerzone for 3*5€ (the heck is that?) (10€ on Gog)

Brasas: Holy f#$%...

This is such a pleasant surprise. Especially if it implies more to come.
Well, it's from the Cryo/Anuman French duo so it's not so surprising for me to see more of their titles here as they have have a good track record with GOG.

I'm always crossing fingers to see Lost Eden come here :)
I can honestly say I've never heard of this game before. Looking it up, though... the reviews were pretty bad back in the day. Seems like a pass.

Russonc: Mostly turn-based... some RTS w/good pause features... First Person Shooters (usually on easy!).. and lately liking weird/artsy indie adventure games...
Thanks for reply. Interesting choices :)
Especially the FPS, since these need quite a good relfex and eye ... so you brain must work almost 100%

Does someone know if this game is the same as Black Moon Chronicles: Winds of War
I am asking this, because if I remember correctly it had cell-shaded graphic or not? Or are these different games and not related?

Well, Black Moon Chronicles: Winds of War was inspired by the same comic as Black Moon Chronicles but it's a multiplayer-only game.

As for prices, there's also this bit in the FAQ:

"I heard something about FireFlower donating half its profit to charity and games, what’s up with that?

You heard right. My aim is to promote crowdfunding for indie devs, and I pledge to donate at least half of my annual profits to projects that benefit the environment and game development. My goal in the end is to create a platform that not only sells games but gives back to the community as well."

Not sure how it works in practice though.

One issue is adding 25% to prices for buyers in the EU. Supposedly VAT, but that's (their) Swedish VAT, so doesn't even have the excuse of regional pricing according to the law of paying VAT according to the rate in the customer's country.

There's also the bit about "all cards need to have 3D secure activated". Wouldn't even know what that is, since I wouldn't use cards anyway, except something prepaid (and not traced, because it sure doesn't help me with anything if it is, so no reason to accept it) like PSC.
just bought the game
4Gb RAM? Well that's me out atm.

Would also like some clarification!
Crypo nice, though never heard of this one. Wishlisted and may buy this weekend to encourage further Cryo / Anuman releases.

Hmm, never heard of that store before. I have salammbo on Dotemu, though I don't buy from them anymore. A few installs of various games showed a general lack of attention dotemu had towards their install packages. Broken links and other such things. So I just decided to get everything I could on GOG. No idea if they have improved their QA since then.

Holy crap, I remember this game. Enjoyed the hell out of it back in the day despite (from what I recall) pretty bad reviews. No idea if it's actually any good, though.
First of...
HELL YES~!

I have waited for this...
Like some people here already said - this isn't a revolution, but still a solid game that gives me a huge nostalgia. And the soundtrack.

Now, GOG... give me Persian Wars, aka. Dark Souls of RTS games. Als by Cyro.

I remember I asked you about this game, Judas... If you knew back then... next time, wink twice if you know, and thrice if you don't. ;P

BTW: There are... no goodies? IIRC on game CD there were songs for the game, you don't have it GOG?
If you can find one of old Click! magazines, they once had BMC as cover game, their version had it.
