Hey,

we have released a new update for Galaxy, 1.2.31.

It fixes the problem with Galaxy autostarting, despite the setting, which started happening after Windows 10 Fall Creator's update), we also improved how Galaxy keeps track on time you've spent in game.

Full changelog, as always you can find either in Galaxy or in sticky forum post.

Enjoy :)

DesmondLonghair: Sorry if this has been addressed somewhere, but does anyone else have trouble with Galaxy just... not downloading things? Or at least being incredibly slow to initialize? It happens every time.

I selected Blood from my library, and it took an honest 15 minutes for the "install" button to light up. I timed it. Then when I clicked install, it took easily another 10 before it would even let me authorize the install. It's now working just fine, but the time it takes to initialize a download is ridiculous.

Although it's a great piece of software otherwise, so I feel kinda bad having to complain like this!
We are aware of the issue, the version we just released has a slight improvement for this problem, we are planning some more.

And thanks for the appreciation! :)

The Avast/AVG malware alert is a false positive, most probably due to the change of the certificate used to sign the GOG Galaxy executable files.

We're contacting the anti virus software providers to fix this issues globally, but in the mean time you can manually allow GOG Galaxy to run.
Hi all,

Both Avast and AVG updated their virus database and marked GOG Galaxy as harmless. This should prevent future issues. If you already had Avast / AVG quarantine one of your Galaxy files, you might need to repair the installation. Here are detailed instructions for doing this: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004238733

KingEG: I have no anti virus program and gog starts like 5-6 minutes after clicking on it. Something is odd. After clicking on it only the processes GalaxyClientService.exe and GalaxyUpdater.exe are running. After a while GalaxyClientService disappears and even a while later gog finally starts. Starting having the problems since today with the update.
Hm. There was a change related to that in the current release. Could you create an issue on mantis.gog.com, and attach all your logs from C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs ? Thanks!

IIHectorII: So, a reply would be nice dear GOG team. The client is starting after like 15 to 30 minutes after launching it. I have this problem since the client updated the last time.

This doesn't seem like a minor problem, does it?
We can only help you if you send us your logs on http://mantis.gog.com/bug_report_page.php

Out of curiosity: How many games do you have installed?

IIHectorII: I will post the log files later, when I have some time to test this, thx for the link. Currently I have 9 games installed.
OK, from what I can see we had this reported through support, and will work on a fix for that. Sorry for the issue. :(

Harzzach: I have ... ähem ... currently nearly three hundred GOG games installed. Galaxy also takes ages to start, around 15-30 minutes, like he reported. And also since the last update. Do you need more logs or do you already have enough information?
We have some, but the more logs the better, use mantis.gog.com
This bug is rather weird...

ElPrimordial: It doesn't work in all games as Steam client do and thats really awful.
In which games are you having issues with screenshots? Please let me know, and we'll investigate the issue.
avatar
LoucoDiamante: Same here. Says it cant autoupdate at first. Then it opens but not connected. Then if i try to reeenter my credentials, it stays unlogged,
We are aware of the issue, and we will be releasing an update in the next couple of days to fix it.
Hey,

we have released a new version of GOG Galaxy.

This should help for the problem with Galaxy start you have reported on the forums :)

It also brings couple bugfixes and improvement in our update process, that should help with choosing server with most performance.

Enjoy, play games and Merry Christmas!

Ninlil: How I completely disable the notifications?
I have already deactivated all the options in the menu.
It's emptying the wishlist the only way to get rid of them?
You can disable both e-mail and desktop notifications about wishlist discounts here:
https://www.gog.com/account/settings/subscriptions

And you can disable it also in the GOG Galaxy Settings (top-left logo -> settings) under promos & wishlist discounts notifications.

If those settings doesn't work for you, please report it. :)

We've made some changes, but this is not one of them.
It did work fine for me as well. Could you tell us with which game you have problem?
