2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

Hi!
We have just released new version of GOG Galaxy (1.2.24) with many bugfixes and changed. Please check the top post or changelog for the details.
For people not willing to search & read the changelog - most notable changes in the new version IMHO:

- Added option to specify command line options when launching games (in each game's settings)
- Reworked how the navigation history works, fixing numerous bugs (left/right arrows in top menu) - it should work flawlessly now
- Sound volume regulation is respected for in-game notifications (50% quieter by default)
- Some scenarios (e.g. importing older game builds with auto-updates disabled) will no longer show newest game version label if Galaxy is not sure about that (instead: unknown version)
- "Continue previous session" setting for starting page will now properly remember the last page you visited before quitting
- Galaxy will no longer lose games when updated from version 1.1.30 to latest :)

VanishedOne: Client update fails with a message telling me I can download the latest installer from https://www.gog.com/galaxy

https://www.gog.com/galaxy still points to https://cdn.gog.com/open/galaxy/client/setup_galaxy_1.2.23.4.exe
Can you send your logs to http://mantis.gog.com/ so we can see why the update 1.2.23->1.2.24 failed? Thank you.

p55carroll: After the update, the "More" buttons next to the green "Play" buttons don't work anymore!
Can you send your logs to http://mantis.gog.com? Attaching a screenshot to the bug report would help too.

Thanks!

p55carroll: No need. Today I logged in again, and everything is OK.
For anyone who's interested in monitoring the issue: http://mantis.gog.com/view.php?id=5344

Logs are of no help here. We'll do a fix for it soon.

Thank you for reporting this. :)

Enjoy your online games :)

MadDemon64: Anyone else have a problem where GOG Galaxy creates a "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" popup every time they start the compter? It's getting kinda annoying and wonder if there's a fix (short of reinstalling GOG, that is).
What operating system are you using? It should not happen. I would be grateful if you would put a bug report on http://mantis.gog.com
avatar
JMich: 2) Run the client with the /runwithoutupdating flag. But you really should be letting it check for updates.
avatar
BKGaming: Interesting. I wonder if the client still works online when setting this flag and/or if you can still connect online once you are behind a released update.

If so, I would say this is a security concern with it being public now. We really don't need people connecting to the Galaxy network on old outdated versions.
How is it a security concern? We could block older Galaxy versions if we wanted to do so. We do show an outdated message for some very old versions. But they are meant for the user convenience really, so he does not experience some broken features.

We've released GOG Galaxy Client 1.2.27 Beta (it means you have to enable preview updates to get it).

Most visible change is a dialog that will be shown if the cloud save sync fails due to not enough space in the cloud (very common Cloud Sync fail reason).
There were also some bugfixes, and some internal code changes that shouldn't affect you in any way.

For changelog, go to GOG Galaxy or pinned post above.

PainOfSalvation: Galaxy won't update to 1.2.27. It starts but then i get a window saying it failed to update and that i could download it from the scratch.
Thank you for the information.
Could you report this issue on http://mantis.gog.com and include Galaxy Client logs?
avatar
ScottGW: So, if this is a new requirement, could GOG explain what Galaxy is doing when it launches and why this is now a requirement? I am cool with it, if there is something critical happening here. But otherwise, it feels shady.
It's not a requirement of course. :)

Feel free to change the shortcuts at any time. To find the game executable, you can use MORE -> Manage installation -> Show folder

Some users have Galaxy Client running in background - and when you run the game through Galaxy (via "Galaxyfied" :P shortcut) - it allows you to have the game overlay, game time tracking, achievements etc. If it's just a single-player game and you don't care about game time tracking, or achievements - you can omit Galaxy.

NoAGood: On my Windows 7 64 Desktop computer with 17" NEC MultiSync monitor - Gog Galaxy is way to wide. Like in HD or something. I can size it up and down, but not the sides. In other words, I cannot narrow <- -> the gog window. It is way off the desktop. I have to click and slide the window left and right to see eberything. This isn't just when playing games, it is when viewing games library, the store, or whatever. If I double click on the top of the window, it changes to full screen and sizes properly at full screen. If I do the same again, it goes back to be being far to wide. So, I'm using it at full screen and Alt-Shift-Tabing out to other programs / windows. Why can't I size the gog window?

Please see attached screen shot - Thank You!
Hey NoAGood,

do you have display scaling? I mean the "Make Text And Other Items Larger Or Smaller." option in control panel.

NoAGood: Hi Liosan,

I can change the text size for eveything .. At the moment it is on the middle setting, (125%) because my eye sight is poor.

I'll set it to 100%.for a test and see if it works. The only program off the desktop and to large is Gog Galaxy.

I've set it to 100% and Galaxy window will resize. A double click on the top of the window bar will make
it full screen. Another double click will take it back to the "sized" window.

So in other words, this works for galaxy, but everything else is a bit small for me to read, due to my poor eyesight.

Is this the only solution?

Thanks!
You could try this: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/10436/using-program-compatibility-mode-in-windows-7/ - in compatibility settings there is an option to "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" which would affect only one application. I haven't tried it, though :)

Sphix94: Hey there,
I`ve problems with the gog connect service u`re offering right now. After 2 days trying now it still say that i`m queued to connect with my steam account. My settings on steam are public btw. Is there a problem right now,a bug or smth. else? Hope u can help me with that.
Did the issue resolve itself? There is a technical limitation about how many requests can be processed daily, so the situation you describe might be normal.

avatar
bushwhacker2k: Is there a way to make the "screenshot taken" image at the bottom right go away faster- or not pop up at all?

The sound effect is sufficient and the "screenshot taken" image is actually added to subsequent screenshots.
Wait, what? It's added to the next screenshot? In what game? I tested a few and it works fine...

Wraithcat: I'm sick and tired of GOG deciding that it is going to charge me in US dollars, despite the fact that I use the Aussie Dollar.
We have support for AUD. Did you choose AUD as your currency in account and locale settings?

Do you experience any problems with Galaxy Client on that matter? If so, could you try to change the currency in your profile settings from in-galaxy? (your avatar dropdown -> account management) Change it back and forth if it's already set.

Please send back your feedback when you're done. :) If we see any issue there regarding Galaxy Client, we'll add this as a bug to fix.

bushwhacker2k: Hey, not to sound impatient or demanding, but I'd love to hear if this problem has been recognized.
Hey, just a confirmation that we were in fact able to reproduce the problem, and that we have recorded this bug, and tagged it for further investigation. Thanks for bringing it to our attention :)
