I just checked the entire thread so far and I did not see this mentioned: Is there a way to get the achievements for a game I have been playing for a while before installing Galaxy? Or do I have to restart at 0?

Also, do I have to start games from the Galaxy launcher for Galaxy to monitor them or does Galaxy know (as long as it is running already) no matter how I start the game?

I think it depends on the game if earned Achievements will be recognized from your savegame or just the moment you are actually earning them. Gametime however will only be taken when you start using Galaxy launcher.
Just bought Dark Fall: The Journal, Dark Fall 2: Lights Out and Dark Fall 3: Lost souls.

Like usually I installed the games using the newest backup installer. I then tried to import the games into Galaxy.
NOT ONE OF THE THREE GAMES were imported into Galxy. No matter if I used the scan and import function or the import via library function.

Edit: Nevermind - I found out that all I had to do is try to install from the library and the game is then regognized. Did not know this was even possible with Galaxy.

Edit2: For this to work o Dark Falls 3 I had to rename the install folder to "Dark Fall 3" (instead of Dark Fall 3 - Lost Souls).

Probably been mentioned before but my lord why does it take sooooo long to load and show initial screen? I realize it is most likely doing checks and syncing before the page appears but why not at least have a page open immediately with a "Please Wait" notification?

I've clicked 2-3 times on Galaxy .exe because thought it wasn't responding. Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit if it matters.
Here's a question regarding the OG Galaxy 1.2 update - From what I hear, multiplayer games on GOG can now be played with Steam users. Now, does this include ALL of the multiplayer games that are available through both services, or just a subset of them?

MarkoH01: regognized.
That's punny.

Nope, the games have to be attuned to work in Crossplay and there are only a few (which already worked in old Galaxy). This is nothing new to 1.2.

Could you explain this to me? Or did you just want to say that it's a fun thing that my typo accidentally spelled "gog" in it? Just curious here. :)

Has anyone else noticed that the cloud sync of saves only happens when launching a game from within the Galaxy Client itself? In other words, if I used the desktop icon created during the install to launch the game I get neither the cloud sync nor the overlay.

Is this expected behavior?

It might change in the future to be more seamless (people probably used to other clients that force it), but this is the case. If you're using the desktop icon - it will take you straight to your game without GOG Galaxy time tracking, overlay, cloud saves sync trigger (it will sync later of course) etc. So if you'd uninstall GOG Galaxy (for some crazy reason!) this icon still works.
I recommend running your games through in-Galaxy play option. :)
So there is still no way of choosing only 1 language when downloading a game still? I want to download Blackguards but it is a 17 GB download with Galaxy. HTTP download is only about 4 GB with just English.

Are you sure you are not confusing the game dir with the install files? Both blackguards 1 and 2 installers show the same size in browser, gog downloader or galaxy (4/5 GB).

Nah, what I mean is:

In Galaxy, when I go to my library to download Blackguards, Galaxy tells me it will be a 17 GB download in order for me to play it.

Using a HTTP (browser) download, I only need to download 3 individual links adding up to 4 GB.

So what I want to know is if Galaxy enables me to download games without the additional language files so that I only download 4 GB and not 17 GB.

Select blackguards in the galaxy sidebar go to more --> backups and extras and the installer listed is 5.3GB. if you install directly from galaxy it will download the full uncompressed files thats why you see 17 GB

Doesn't that just download the standalone .exe though? Unless Galaxy auto-installs it?
