2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

lordhoff: When I log into the current game I'm playing, I get an error message of sorts stating that there is a disagreement between files on my PC and the cloud and asking which is the most current so they can be synced. One can also choose, "ignore". I really have no idea which would be most current so have either chosen "ignore" or my PC as the most current. How does one even know? Am I doing something wrong that causes this? So far, I haven't noticed any impact but it is making me nervous.
We're aware of this issue. It's specific for a few games, that seem to modify some additional files outside just save games. We're investigating why this is causing a conflict, as it should not happen.

If you're playing on one computer, than you can safely choose "This computer", and all your saves will be backed up safely. If you're playing on more than one machine, please choose the option, that has the latest date.
Hi folks,

we just did a double release - 1.2.20 on the main channel, and 1.2.21 for the BETA. 1.2.20 includes mostly accumulated bugfixes from the previous BETA releases, but we're still keeping the new menu on BETa. Here's the changelog:

# 1.2.20 (August 25, 2017)
## Changes and Improvements:
- [Windows] CPU usage improvements for GOG Galaxy Overlay
- [Windows] Overlay will now react to change of keyboard layout (eg. from EN to RU characters)
- Improved version detection of imported games. Galaxy will also not perform file adjustment if it's not needed. Supported only by newer games
- Importing and updating The Witcher 3: GOTY (DVD version) will properly use differential patch mechanism (greatly reduced download size)
- Galaxy update popup made more reliable

## Bugfixes:
- Game updates will no longer fail with disk access problem, after redeeming single DLC with a gift code
- Slightly optimised download process, Galaxy will no longer stop downloading for a while during unpacking small files
- Galaxy will not freeze after quitting during applying diff patches
- It is now possible to log out without internet
- [Windows] Fix for screenshots in Dragon Age: Origins and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
- [Windows] Mouse cursor should not duplicate when opening overlay and moving the mouse simultaneously

# 1.2.21 Beta (August 25, 2017)
## Changes and Improvements:
- Added desktop notification if there are unread notifications in the top menu

## Bugfixes:
- Top menu won't switch to mobile mode in Galaxy
- Fix for excessive memory usage in top menu

klappis: Unfortunately the "import folder" doesn't work with games installed in the old galaxyclient folder.

How can i see which gog-installers are goggalaxy compatible or not?
Sorry, we're working a fix for the Import Folder bug right now.

A game can be imported using Scan&Import if there exists a file called goggame-<something>.info in the game folder.

avatar
TheTomasz: There’s also a new menu notification system and some improvements to desktop notifications.
avatar
BKGaming: Anyway we can combine this into a single desktop notification? Like "Hey you have 8 notications waiting..." or something?
We just did :)

staredcraft: Can someone please help me out, this is like the third time this has happened. Like the 1.2.17 public update, this one refuses to install properly on my computer. I get it stating GOG is updating, I approve of it and GOG Galaxy exits. It restarts and installs it...and it says something is wrong and I should download the installer (which is still 1.2.17 NOT 1.2.20) and now everytime I exit GOG Galaxy and (even with Administration allowed) it still refuses to fully install 1.2.20. What gives? What do I do? Why does this happen with each major public update?
avatar
boroncarbide: The most recent update, after it finished installing and restarting, rendered Galaxy unusable (maximised window that contained nothing). Closing Galaxy didn’t work — at first — but after manually killing all of Galaxy’s processes and restarting the client everything is working A‐O.K.
I don't recall any bug that could cause this problem. Could you post a new issue at http://mantis.gog.com, attach your logs, and we'll investigate.

avatar
murkki: Comodo contains scriptinterpreter.exe as trojan.
Possible false positive'?
I would hope so :) That executable is part of GOG Galaxy, something developed internally at GOG. It should be perfectly safe.

avatar
odisos: "Top menu won't switch to mobile mode in Galaxy"
Does this mean it will no longer switch to the mobile version or does this mean that it's now possible to switch to the mobile version? I own a Windows tablet and the client menu is impossible to use with touchscreen so I insist on an option to control the client over touchscreen. The top menu is also the only thing that doesn't work with touchscreen at the moment.
Hm. The bug was that it would switch to a version which would work in lower resolutions, not actual touch support. I'll file a bug report on that, but I'll be honest - tablet support is not high on our priority list...

RTA: What have you done this time ?
Oh dear, that's a big set of problems :| I several separate things here:
- it fails to upgrade to the newest version. Could you report an issue on http://mantis.gog.com, and attach your logs there? If you still have them.
- I don't understand what you mean by "Galaxy keeps losing what it had, then going through the extreme pain of replacing the games yet again in my genre folders as it just throws them all in the root of gog.com" - as far as I know the only thing that could cause Galaxy to lose a game is if it where physically moved to a different folder, and that shouldn't happen by itself. Then again, I'm open to being corrected on this :P care to elaborate what's going on?
- The ton of stuff in ProgramData is an issue we are planning to fix, but it shouldn't cause Galaxy to break like you describe

Gurlok: Are the fps showed during normal play still limited to beta updates?
No! :) Sorry, we forgot to mention that in the changelog. Non-beta users should have in-game FPS as well.
avatar
RTA: Galaxy periodically trashes its own database...
I second what BKGaming said - your folder setup seems unique. What does your hardware / filesystem setup look like?

Also - what exactly do you mean by "you move the game to the genre folder" ? You go to a game folder, ctrl-x the whole thing, go to genre folder, ctrl-v... and then? I would expect in this case Galaxy would "forget" the game - it would not appear in the sidebar after restarting galaxy. Do you move games while Galaxy is running, and then (without restarting Galaxy) the client downloads the game back to the old location...? I'm sorry, you probably already answered this, but I'm confused :)

avatar
rs2yjz: So GOG gaaxy has failed to load for a number of days for me, I've tried reinstalling it a couple times but it is not loading. How can I play my games? I used to see ways around using Galaxy, but games I've recently downloaded say Try GOG Galaxy and I cannot get to download files.
If the problem still persist (and you didn't uninstall Galaxy yet) - could you please report an issue on http://mantis.gog.com and attach all the logs there? A zip of everything from C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs would help us investigate what happened.

JDVMSR: IT appears that there have been dozens of FIXES in paast few months, a continuation of the last five years. NONE of them allow us to access the DL page to update or DOWNLOAD additional material.
Can you be more specific which page you can't access and what error message you're getting? It would be helpful if you could open a ticket at https://mantis.gog.com and provide your logs (instructions are available at the linked page).

GOG Galaxy haven't had any long lasting outages since it's launch, and we constantly monitor number of online users to spot any issues.

Sirspamalot12: I hate to invade but I got a code for a discount on a game and I entered in the code and clicked continue but now I cant get the discount how can I use the discount.
Please contact support here: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us and describe what do you mean by discount code. :) As far as I know we have only codes to redeem games for free (you can do it here: https://www.gog.com/redeem ).

BKGaming: So I got a friend request in Galaxy with no way to accept it. I get the notification and when I click it, it opens the friends list but there is no friend request showing.

I can accept it from the website though. Just letting you know. This was on v1.2.21 BETA.
I cannot reproduce this :( friend requests list is in a bar on the bottom of friends window. But you most probably know that.

Geralt_of_Rivia: While he most likely talks about a gift key GOG does have discount codes and you as a Blue should know that. ;-)
Wow, I've never seen one. :) Probably because I have everything for free. ;)) Thx for teaching me a new thing about GOG!

haydenaurion: Minor issue with Galaxy, it will periodically start increasing the disk usage anywhere from 20% up to 50% according to task manager. Running version 1.2.20 and Galaxy wasn't doing this before and it doesn't seem to be updating games so I don't know why it would be doing this.
Hi haydenaurion,

that's a bit worrying. I mean, there is a periodic background check for game updates that could do some disk operations, but it shouldn't be 50%. Could you report a bug on http://mantis.gog.com, and attach your logs from C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs ? A zip of everything would be best. I'll try to take a look. Also, please indicate at what time you saw the disk usage and how long it hang around (like 10s, a minute, or longer than a minute) so I can compare than information with what the logs say.

haydenaurion: Done. I used WinRAR to zip them, I hope I got it right.
No problem, thanks for the logs :) I'll look into that.

TomiikV: About notifications in Windows 10:
PLEASE, use Action Center for desktop notifications.

I can't find a way to read missed notifications once I didn't got a chance to read them an a very short time they're displayed (I need to first adjust my screen magnifier and position my magnified screen to be actually able to read any notifications)
We were considering that, but we decided to go for notifications looking the same on all systems, the same in-overlay and on the desktop, and as customizable as we needed. We will be adding a way to read most missed notification types in the nearest Galaxy update (though the system won't include notifications about "game updated" or "game installed").

If the notification size is a problem, what's your screen resolution? And do you have Windows scaling enabled?

avatar
TomiikV: Any chance to set notification display duration? I have set 30 secs for Action Center notifications.
Any chance to set font size of notifications?
We didn't plan this, but I'll make a note :)

avatar
TomiikV: And last - any chance for direct link to this topic from Galaxy's menu? And I think there should be separate forum branch for GOG Galaxy
I don't think there's enough being talked about Galaxy to warrant it's own forum branch, and linking to a specific topic, is... I'm not sure it's worth it :)

Hey,

we have released GOG Galaxy 1.2.22 containing a new top menu already known from public Beta updates. We hope it will help you be in touch with everything that's going on in GOG as well as with your friends.

For MacOS users we have renamed Galaxy bundle name to "GOG Galaxy.app" to make it prettier :)

Other than that we have fixed some bugs.

Full changelog you can find in Galaxy or in the sticked post on this forum
