ddickinson: I will be calling it a day for now. I am not going to push myself like last time. I will probably be on a little later, but if not I hope you all have a lovely day!

And a big thank you to all who answered my question.

And just for Agent:

Hey everyone! *Waves and hugs* I hope your day is going better than mine, because so far it's sucktastic.

Between six hours of commuting, an emergency dental appointment to look forward to and the fact that my house no longer has water or electricity, I'm not having the greatest time right now. Add to that the fact that my landlord would rather argue over who is to blame rather than fix anything, and well... I'd want this day to be over but I'm still not even sure where I'm going to sleep tonight. So that's why I'm not doing so awesome. :P

Good morning, everyone! Sarge, the lady and I all had restless nights, but there isn't a damn thing in the world we really have to get done today, aside from resting up and maybe getting a wee bit of cleaning done.

I hope you're all doing well today!

*hugs and waves all around*

Ixamyakxim: I can relate - I haven't been sick in AGES but I've had a cold the last few days. I don't feel that sick beyond sneezing, bit of a runny nose and there was a sore throat the first day or so but MAN have I just been lazy and tired. Silly little stuff feels like an effort.

Didn't know the PoE DLC was incorporated into the main story (at least it sounds that way from your post). I can't wait to dig into this game when I finally grab it - any idea if the second DLC (I assume - I think I saw "Part One" on the recent release) will also be a campaign "enclosed" in the story of the main game? I admit I hadn't been following too much of the post-release news so I didn't even realize there WOULD be a DLC until a few days before it arrived here (or maybe even the day it was released - whenever I first saw someome mention / ask about it on the forum here).
It's rare that I have a cold, too. I've always got something going on with my health, or am at least busy injuring something when I'm not in some way sick, but I only get a cold or the flu about once every year or two. I hope yours passes soon!

PoE is a fantastic game, but yeah, having the DLC incorporated into the main story was a bit disappointing. I'm enjoying the DLC content so far, but knowing that, regardless of what happens in this content, the end of the game will be more or less the same, it makes it feel a bit too much like I went back to read a chapter that was added late to a book I've already finished. But I really did enjoy PoE more than I had most games in a long time, and I'm enjoying the new content a lot. One thing I found upon starting the DLC, though: there are two new areas open on the map for the new content, and one is specifically meant to be taken on first. I went to the "high level content" location first by accident and had a standard group of enemies run me into the ground repeatedly... and it wasn't just that the enemies were harder to take down, they were smarter... the new enemy AI is much more impressive than the enemies in the vanilla game, so using the same tactics I did to successfully beat the hardest enemies (and boss) in the game previously just wouldn't work on these guys. I won't be trying to take on that group of enemies until I've gained a level, at least.
I'm guessing the "part 2" of the DLC will also be incorporated into the main story, so I figure I'll wrap up what's out now, then just leave the game unfinished until part 2 is released, so I can finish that before completing the game again.

Eep, so sorry to hear things are going so poorly. Dental visits are miserable enough, I'm guessing an emergency visit means either you broke a tooth, or just had a dental visit where they screwed something up... whatever the case, no fun at all :(
The first house my wife and I rented together, we had a landlord like that. Our heater broke, the electrical was an absolute mess, the hot water heater broke, several other problems sprung up all around the same time, and the land lord ignored our requests to have something done about it. Our electric bills were several hundred dollars over the average a month, and there were some obvious issues with electrical and the heating that were contributing to the higher bills, and it finally took submitting a formal complaint to get a response from the landlord... and his response was that he didn't want to have to deal with it, so we had 30 days to either move out or to buy the house from him (at an absurdly high price for that run down little house.) Fun times! ;)
I certainly hope your day gets better!

Thank you, and wow, that's even worse than my situation! Landlords can really suck. Mine never does maintenance and when something breaks we have to pay for it ourselves because it's not covered by the contract. Naturally.

Any thoughts? Opinions?

The only one I've spent more than a few minutes playing was System Shock 2. I bought it the minute it showed up on GOG, and was done within 24 hours... then started it again immediately :-)

I wouldn't say worse, not ultimately, as that landlord inadvertently started us along the path to home ownership, but certainly a "comparably crappy" time. :) Landlords can be awful. I feel so lucky that the lady and I stumbled into an opportunity to own... I do miss the "instant handyman" that could be found in *good* landlords from time to time when something goes wrong, but I've found that homeowner's insurance is a hell of a lot more handy and reliable than most landlords when it comes to fixing what's broken.
Fingers crossed that your day improves! :)

Bad Mojo is a rather unique game. And Darklands is a very interesting open world RPG set in a "realistic" Middle-age-Germany - with all the beliefs and superstitions come true. So not your usual Tolkienesque/DnD standard fare. It's not very nice to look at though, and sometimes rather clunky.
