Mobs are now active on the GOG server. Watch out for Creepers though; server-client latency can make it much more difficult to fight them at close quarters.

YES BRING IT!!!

TO THE BLACK HOLE CAVE!
If it hasn't changed recently then mobs and critters are nigh to impossible to kill on SMP, at least without the help of lava/fire so I would suggest turning them off again instead of having our work blown up by creepers.
Can't get on the server :(

It's working fine for me right now. Try 78.240.217.126:25565, that might do the trick (or, if you're already using that, try removing the port part, i.e. using just 78.240.217.126).

The lag and the bugs in SMP make the GoG Server hard to use, who's in favour of a SEA/Aus/NZ server?
It was much more laggy today than yesterday, for some reason.

Sounds good, but it would probably be best to wait a bit; the Halloween Update is making major fixes and additions, some of which might require a newly-generated map in order to appear (this happened in the past with the Redstone update).

Works now, may just be the network on the school.I had a pc crash and now I get this error every time I try to join :(
Internal client error: java.net.ConnectException: Connectuib refused: connect

EDIT:
Nevermind it was because the client ran in offline mode because I had no connection to minecraft.net for some reason.

I love Minecraft. It's great. I'm a sucker for sandbox games, you know?
Truly one of the greatest indie feel-good stories.
