Minecraft is the most addictive game I've played in awhile. All it is is essentially a LEGO-style game in a 3D world, where you build pretty much anything, in an 8-bit art style.
My server has tons of extravagant buildings, pirate ships, hedge mazes, chess boards, and....8-bit art, made by yours truly. (pictures attached).
Everyone check the game out, it's awesome.

Just tried it. While it's fascinating playing around with the landscape for a while, it's not really so much a game, is it? It's more a huge sandbox of toy blocks. The name "Minecraft" leads me to believe that there will eventually be more to it, but as it is right now, I quickly lost interest. Maybe if there were more colorful blocks to build from, you could really do some 8bit recreations.

I kinda like it, but I'm guessing there is some way to protect your server from, erm, vagabonds, just munching their way through everything and ruining the place?

I can't get it to run, says I need Java but I already have it.

My community has a private server for it, weeds out all the..... vagabonds.
