I had the pleasure of actually never playing this until a few years ago. Simply a blast. The game is well crafted. It has A LOT of character with the portraits and voice overs. You see they used the development staff as the portraits dressed up in medieval style and I absolutely love it. Some of the stuff they say is hilarious. The gameplay is excellent AS LONG AS you get the basic mouse mod for it. Its a doungeon crawler with a huge overworld map to explore. Very challenging and you should look up good party mix. The dungeons are gigantic and contain traps and puzzles. The magic includes everything you would expect. Overall the game is a must have!
I remember playing this when I was young not thinking much of it. It was good but never really got into it. Now that Im older I see what a fantastically balance, challenging, rewarding and fun game it is! Its a simple RTS that wont be too hard for you to quickly grasp. There are mechanics that function well and lead to satisfying action. The AI is surprisingly varied and capable. If you are an RTS fan well by this point you should already have it and if not now is the time!
I think such a small team did a great job of a dark souls like game. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it quite challenging. Graphically looks great. Plays smooth and is respnsive. interesting areas. BUT It has a lot of problems: The difficulty is GREATLY determined by your level and development meaning that if you grind correctly and only for a short bit you will outclass the bosses. There is a critical lack of enemy variety. Its somewhat empty. So level design is poor. Quite unbalanced in ways. Limited replayability. Lack of variety of equpment. Overall though I would recommend it if you like good old Dark Souls and want a challenging but also frustrating game at times.
Awesome game my only gripe is there isnt enough of it! Its very similar to HofM&M but you wont have to run around the map AS MUCH to recapture assets continuously. Its simple but challenging. Each faction has their own playthrough but arent THAT different from the others. So you could easily finish an entire game in one day if you wanted.
The epitome of a good ol game! BUT make sure to instal unity and some texture mods to bring it up to speed and make playable. After that its addicting and fun! unlike other elder scrolls your will find this game actually challenging rather that a joke like oblivion and skyrim. Its a lot like the MM series and with the unity upgrades its easy to get into. Simply fantastic! Elder scrolls fans must play!
This is my preferred version. Ultimate has TERRIBLE UI that buries everything and makes it much harder to manage everything IMO. Ultimate is faster though but unit amounts are the biggest bottle neck in SR. Always start games without units and low funds and resources, haha more challenge yeah? Cause the AI isnt gonna give you much challenge! Still, the games a blast!
This game is very simple and has ZERO depth, BUT its quite fun. This is a game to play if you want to entertain yourself or need to burn some time. Its a simple RTS normally in that you build buildings and produce units, where it differs is that you have no direct control over your units. You instead encourage them to do things with bounties. There are a huge number of enemies and unit types. Most of all everything is voiced over and the voice overs are a RIOT! The units have so much personality its adorable and hilarious. Some of the harder missions can be quite challenging as well. Over all its a simple, quick fun little game. Totally worth having in your library! I recommend!
This game is bad. BUT its also really quite fun! Its basically like a live action baulders gate type game. On the ps2 was horrible I remember constant crashes and glitches. Many glitches are still there and its buggy but these bugs are all to game design not the code itself. The GOG version is far more stable than the original and I image the steam one since steam does nothing for games. Its slow, its clunky but its also very enjoyable and addicting. For such a low price it wont disappoint. Its old school so markers wont tell you what to do or where to go so you'll need to be an old school game detective. Which I enjoy actually. There arent many locations but the ones there are are HUGE. The character development is fun and has good power progression. Equipment and skills make a major difference on your play. The story aint half bad either. Lots of dialoge to explain things. Side quests are a mixed bag but are all pretty challenging. Its also a hard game if you arent careful, another positive in my opinion. All in all its a good bad game and I enjoyed it just as much now as I did 20 years ago!
For me this is great! Its for people who like dwarf fortress but wish it was easier and clearer to get into and manage. If you like rimworld, kenshi, sim city, and yeah its even like total war in some ways, you love SOS! Its essentially a city building game that turning into a grand strategy game later on! Very cool and unique. Think of Rimworld but instead of leaving on a rocket you instead subjugate the entire planet through military, trade and politics. Starting out you may be off put but the game not knowing what to do. Most likey your people will die quick DONT GIVE UP! The game is not really as complicated as it appears. Just tinker with it until you figure it out and bam you'll be addicted. The citizens are a lot more forgiving than rimworld and arent endlessly annoying primadonna whiny lunatics! Its instead about growing a mighty kingdom of prosperity and greatness from nothing. If you set everything up correctly and managed your growth responsibly, the city will tend to itself allowing you to focus on the next stages of your plan. If DONT grow responsibly, maintain your citizens needs, establish a military/defenses then things can collapse quickly. Overall its a great game so far but still in dev so could get better or worse later. As it is now its a great buy!
