Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

Outstanding game just lacking more

Open world RPG with THE best combat, bosses and MAGIC ever presented in a video game. MONSTERS There are many horrific and MASSIVE creatures that you fight in real time and at real scale. Think of shadow of colossus but less restricted. Absolutely one of a kind and EPIC fun and terror. COMBAT is very fluid and the furthest thing from clunky, again as action goes nothing has come close since, you'll love it. MAGIC the first game I ever played where magic felt right. I mean you are magic user with command over mystic energies of the universe. It takes you an eternity to cast a spell and you are vulnerable the whole time but if you manage to unleash your power then the destruction the highest tier spells can bring down is breathtaking. Unfortunately the game is pretty weak in all other respects. The world is pretty lifeless and you wont give a damn about any of the characters save a few. It offers very little in the "open world" sense and your path in the game is obviously very linear. The NPCs and quests are rather boring and the areas you frequent will quickly become non challenges. Truthfully, I enjoyed battling through Bitterblack Isle over and over again and never bothered with the main game much after that. There is no variety to the gameplay. There is a huge variety and of monsters and their AI and scripts are very well developed. Their animations clearly took a great deal of effort. This game could have been one of the best games ever made if they took the combat, monsters, magic and some of the beautiful epic landscapes and coupled it with a deep and immersive game world of options and freedom. Nonetheless if you like RPGs should definitely own Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen. You get many hours of really exciting action out of it. Just dont expect and emotion or immersion.

Master of Magic

Same as original, needs more features.

Its very much the same as the original just with SOME added QOL improvements but not much. Seems the focus was more on graphics. The art is great for everything but not so much for the units. Im gonna ignore the bugs because its new and they have an in game system for reporting. Its very difficult to see everything. The campaign map is a hot mess. The minimap is terrible. Battle screen is also a mess very difficult to see whats going on. Everything is too 40k looking and it just doesnt work imo. Overmap animations too slow. Battle speed fine though. Clunky and slow ui. No improvement to cast system. Ideally instead of cast a buff for one unit at a time instead select how many casts you want them cast them on units in a stack at ONCE. Need option for even smaller maps the very small map is still way bigger than the original. Its just too much for whats labeled as a very small map. Need more options in the option menu for ui and animation control. Newly made units should be snapped to not ignored. Disable battle snap camera option. Myrran map too dark, even out of fog of war. Ring around cities is annoying and ugly (like me). I dont want to give the impression its a bad game, if you liked the original then you have to have this and you'll easily fall right into it because its almost exactly the same. Thats fine but it needs far more options and QOL improvements, it has some mind you but needs much more. It doesnt seem to be a lot more balanced which is good but not enough was improved aside from the graphics, and the graphics wasnt really a downside in the original it was the barebones control of the game.

Project Wingman

Worse than Ace Combat

This is an ace combat clone but they do everything worse. Has only two games, campaign and conquest. No free flight and you have to unlock all planes just to use it. The UI is hot garbage and SLOW. Not intuitive or slim. Their goal appears to have been to make the game pretty, not functional. Its also quite boring. Loadout screen is confusing again with a focus on being pretty. Honestly its just very boring, not enough fast function I mean I want to fly right away in interesting maps and planes.

Grim Dawn Definitive Edition

If you like diablo or titan quest

Quite a fun and challenging game with a unique experience compared to diablo and titan quest. Simply if you loved diablo or titan quest, you wont be disappointed with Grim Dawn. A huge variety of builds available to you. Vast skill trees that really allows you to tone your character the way you like. Plus you can respec your character if you dont like the way you are going. Has challenge dungeons that are very difficult and rewarding. Can play through at different difficulties multiple times with same character. Crazy amount of varied loot to strive for. An excellent hack and slash game.

ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game

Not good needs reworked

The game is ok but all of the stats and skills need a complete rework. As it is there are only a few ways to successfully have any chance of advancing through the game. The abilities tree skills are utterly worthless. You cannot have a viable playthrough with radical or varied builds like you can in fallout. You need to get an assault rifle and focus entirely on dexterity and guns. Also the quest system is beyond useless because there is no region map that you can look at to see where you have been or plan out where you need to go. They have a fairly large game but places are mostly empty with little to do. The crafting system is quickly superseded by purchasable gear. Of purchasable gear you will find little variety or usefulness. Character growth is painfully slow and combat is pretty boring. You dont have a lot of options is what the game pretty much boils down to. The dialogue and characters are unremarkable and again pretty boring. Exploration is boring and unrewarding as well. I still see a lot of potential here and if you liked the fallout series you may find ATOM interesting even though I didnt.
