The Last of The Dreamers is you.

Omikron: The Nomad Soul, a remarkable action-adventure game full of unique gameplay ideas and featuring a groundbreakingly complex alternate reality, teeming with life and waiting for you to explore it, is available on GOG.com, for only $9.99.

A fair warning: when you play this game, your very soul will be sucked into a strange realm where the glorious city of Omikron is troubled by demonic forces. The essence of your being will be trapped in this different dimension, doomed to inhabit one body after another, until you manage to find release. You'll have to explore the mysteries of Omikron, uncover the evil plot pushing it towards ultimate darkness, and fight your way through many dangers. You're the only hope of the Omikronians, and even your own fate is at stake. Sure, you might not believe it, but let's suspend disbelief for a moment. What if it's all true?

Omikron: The Nomad Soul, came way ahead of its time, with its lush and complex virtual world, diverse gameplay mechanics, and original immersive storytelling. It succeeded in creating an illusion of stepping into another world and obliterated the barrier between the virtual reality and our own. The project was so fresh, imaginative, and ambitious that David Bowie himself was more than willing to take a prominent part in the production. You can even meet his lookalike in the game and listen to him performing!

A brave new world awaits you in Omikron: The Nomad Soul, for only $9.99 on GOG.com. Just be advised, we take no responsibility for whatever happens to you in the other reality.
This is a solid release that I know will make a lot of people happy. I wasn't interested in this game when it came out, but I might pick it up now.

timppu: Could we get Oni next, please? :)
I second this!!
Wow, I found this game truly awesome back then, a lot of WTF moments. :D
Unique style too, somehow those french gamedesigners know how to do offbeat sci-fi.
And the menu theme is really cool.

I'm stunned by the releases lately, System Shock 2, Blade of Darkness now Omikron, what's next GOG, Half Life maybe? ;D

Khalaq: I've been waiting 14 YEARS to play this game. Sure, I got to mess around with the demo, but I never got a chance to get the full game because it didn't like my hardware.

ONCE AGAIN, GOG SAVES THE DAY!

This is why I try to buy all my software from GOG. You guys rock!

I almost read, "GOD SAVES THE DAY!" XD
Damn, GOG! How do you always know how to make me reach deep into my wallet?

l0rdtr3k: Didn't David Bowie collaborated with something in the game.

Iain: He did the soundtrack for it, you also get a version of him later in the game - kind of like the movie Labyrinth back in the 80's where he had a smallish part but it was important.
Ummm...being the villain is "a smallish part" in Labyrinth?
I really think GOG should stop punishing its loyal customers by making us pay for new releases.
I cannot express my thanks to GoG.com this is a title Ive wrestled with for a very long time to work on modern hardware, and never succeed... thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Nice one! Still have the BigBox staring at my face from the shelf, so I'll be passing, but definitely recommended. A lot of hidden stuff, little touches that make the world feel alive and immersive as hell (and in a more meaningful, less superfluous way than in QD's newer games).
Wow this is awesome!!! I'll be buying it as soon as I get home.

I absolutely loved this game. I am very happy that I will get to play it again.
Damn, you GOG! <shakes fist>

In terms of screen time, it can be. Note I haven't seen the movie :D.

What??!!?!?? You need to remedy that situation, quick-smart!
Two things. For starters I thought my joke deserved a bigger laugh. :P

Second, I didn't scan the enire thread but are you arguing over Labyrinth or Bowie's film career period? If it's the latter, shame on you! He has put in some great performances in some great movies and all you wanna talk about it a bunch of singing mideval muppets?! Oy! "The Man WHo Fell to Earth" Anyone!? :D
Not adding the soundtrack to this masterpiece should be considered a serious crime. Period.

No soundtrack? Seriously? Okay so I will keep spending all my money here just not on this game.
