The Last of The Dreamers is you.

Omikron: The Nomad Soul, a remarkable action-adventure game full of unique gameplay ideas and featuring a groundbreakingly complex alternate reality, teeming with life and waiting for you to explore it, is available on GOG.com, for only $9.99.

A fair warning: when you play this game, your very soul will be sucked into a strange realm where the glorious city of Omikron is troubled by demonic forces. The essence of your being will be trapped in this different dimension, doomed to inhabit one body after another, until you manage to find release. You'll have to explore the mysteries of Omikron, uncover the evil plot pushing it towards ultimate darkness, and fight your way through many dangers. You're the only hope of the Omikronians, and even your own fate is at stake. Sure, you might not believe it, but let's suspend disbelief for a moment. What if it's all true?

Omikron: The Nomad Soul, came way ahead of its time, with its lush and complex virtual world, diverse gameplay mechanics, and original immersive storytelling. It succeeded in creating an illusion of stepping into another world and obliterated the barrier between the virtual reality and our own. The project was so fresh, imaginative, and ambitious that David Bowie himself was more than willing to take a prominent part in the production. You can even meet his lookalike in the game and listen to him performing!

A brave new world awaits you in Omikron: The Nomad Soul, for only $9.99 on GOG.com. Just be advised, we take no responsibility for whatever happens to you in the other reality.

tinyE: Two things. For starters I thought my joke deserved a bigger laugh. :P

Second, I didn't scan the enire thread but are you arguing over Labyrinth or Bowie's film career period? If it's the latter, shame on you! He has put in some great performances in some great movies and all you wanna talk about it a bunch of singing mideval muppets?! Oy! "The Man WHo Fell to Earth" Anyone!? :D
Let's not forget his role as Nikola Tesla in The Prestige. Pure class.
Has GOG really fixed the 16 bit colour banding and alpha channel problems?
Thanks a lot for releasing it! :)

Iain: Went straight to 1920x1080 resolution for me, looks really nice for its age.
Its not stretched or cut off vertically compared to 4:3?
Have the original and the DC version, but nice to have this too, thanks gog!

JudasIscariot: In terms of screen time, it can be. Note I haven't seen the movie :D.

deadfolk: What??!!?!?? You need to remedy that situation, quick-smart!
I agree, Labyrinth is a nice movie.

BoKeRoN: Not adding the soundtrack to this masterpiece should be considered a serious crime. Period.
Must have to do with licensing issue. This is a common legal problem (that will surface later) if you're hiring outsider to compose the soundtrack, especially by A-list musician like David Bowie.

It's frustrating to me that more people don't realize this. (I mean, obviously there was a time when I didn't, but still... :P) I mean, as a I mentioned earlier perhaps GOG could have added some of the non-Bowie songs to make a "partial" soundtrack, but getting his music here probably would have been really difficult.

Anyway, I created a thread in the game forum for links for listening to the soundtrack.
Wow. After SS2, Omikron. This is awesome. The day they will bring Grim Fandago, it will be a huge win for all. :)
You did it again GOG! Another classic I've been wishing you would release! Nice timing with the release of the new Bowie album as well.

Thank you!
Thank you gog,for this very important and wonderful game.

I do agree in case of the none Bowie songs and ambient music, I think that could be included.
If GOG would include Bowies soundtrack he would lose money on his album sales, or GOG has to make Omikron twice the price to compensate him.
Just buy Hours and be glad the game is here at all.

Thanks GOG! This is one of those rare games I never got a chance to play back then and heard so much about.

You sure its not cut off then? Easy way to check is to take a screenshot at a widescreen resolution and compare it to a screenshot of the same spot in 4:3. Often you see that in 4:3 you see more area vertically (think of the lazy way some people turn 4:3 movies into widescreen by simply cutting off the top and bottom of the picture). I almost NEVER see a game that old with proper widescreen support.
