What kind of hero will you be when our new big publisher joins GOG.com?

Wow, a Monday release and big news today? Is it the end of days?

As we‘ve already told you, 2012 will be a year of grandeur for GOG.com. To prove that, another big publisher will join GOG.com in a move that wasn’t predicted even by the Mayans (and they knew a lot about 2012). Our new publisher carries an impressive portfolio with some of your all-time favorite game heroes that will join the GOG.com catalog in coming weeks. Two game characters that are now a standard in their genres will grace our catalog on this Thursday with as we launch the publisher with style, bringing you two new games on one day.

What kind of hero will you be on that day? What are our two major releases?

GOG.com will be giving you clues about the new publisher right here on our forums, hints about one of the two heroes you’ll see on Thursday via and clues about the other hero on [url=http://www.facebook.com/gogcom]Facebook.
"Our Hero 1 is cold, solid, and a bit of a loner. Also, he "works" for a huge organization. Can you find him on the list?"

Well, stormtroopers are cold, solid, and works for a huge organization.
An infiltrated rebel "works" for the huge organization and is "a bit of a loner".

Kyle Katarn does fit the role.

de_Monteynard: I can't remember, does Agent 47 speak both Russian and French?
According to the storyline of the video-games and the film, he can speak French, English and Russian fluently

EDIT: meganinja'd :)

Lafazar: And in October 1982, Konami began manufacturing and selling PC games...
And Jessica Biel was born in 1982 so it's ....
Deffo Eidos.

"Our Hero 1 is cold, solid, and a bit of a loner. Also, he "works" for a huge organization. Can you find him on the list?"

I'm thinking Hero 1 is JC Denton from Deus Ex, and I quote Wikipedia:
"JC Denton is revealed to be sharp, intelligent and perceptive, yet cold, stolid and a bit of a loner."

The second hero I think is Garrett or Hitman.

But the publisher is Eidos no doubt.
Hmm time for a countdown. My first two thoughts were:

Broderbund (Prince of Persia, prince and the princess in the blocky picture, Carmen Sandiego, etc)

Lucas Arts

aaaaand I haven't read the thread, just my two opinions. Eidos was created in 1990, so... well and Garrett isn't exactly portrayed as a hero, yet I really love both Deus Ex and the Thief series, two games that "made me". :)

mozzington: If this is Grim Fandango it's going to be amazing!
No joke. That would be crazy!
Thief would still be awesome, but LucasArts... now that would make for a string of insta-buys!

Huh, nice catch on the Denton one.
Any good old strategy games that Eidos has the rights too?

taczillabr: Eidos was created in 1990, so...
Except Eidos is since a while ago owned by SquareEnix, which has a much longer history.
If it truly is Eidos... Then wow. I'll be spending some money.

And that picture must be from Thief Gold..

Oh yeah, that big detail has escaped my mind while posting, thanks dear Miaghstir.

Well I have no idea what game would be the one featured in the picture, if that's an Eidos/SquEnix title.

Not really. It might be part of the fluff from the beginning of the game, but you're just murdering scores of people. Any pretense of working for the Empire is dropped by the first level.
