What kind of hero will you be when our new big publisher joins GOG.com?

Wow, a Monday release and big news today? Is it the end of days?

As we‘ve already told you, 2012 will be a year of grandeur for GOG.com. To prove that, another big publisher will join GOG.com in a move that wasn’t predicted even by the Mayans (and they knew a lot about 2012). Our new publisher carries an impressive portfolio with some of your all-time favorite game heroes that will join the GOG.com catalog in coming weeks. Two game characters that are now a standard in their genres will grace our catalog on this Thursday with as we launch the publisher with style, bringing you two new games on one day.

What kind of hero will you be on that day? What are our two major releases?

GOG.com will be giving you clues about the new publisher right here on our forums, hints about one of the two heroes you’ll see on Thursday via and clues about the other hero on [url=http://www.facebook.com/gogcom]Facebook.
I keep being amazed by how people can turn *any* clue into a clue pointing to their most awaited game :D
Consider me excited. If it turns out to be LucasArts or Eidos/Squenix...

...TAKE ALL MY MONEY!! if I have some to spare that is :'(
It's Eidos / Square Enix. Hopefully the "rabbit" and "detective friend" references aren't just red herrings, though, and LucasArts is actually in the pipeline.

Well, the GOG guys carefully craft the clues so that the clues don't really reveal anything and everybody can interpret them in their own favorite ways. Maybe they should consider writing horoscopes on the side.

Fuzzyfireball: Thief Gold Edition
The colors are debatable but yeah, that matches Garrett.

Hope so, the Thief series deserves to be updated for Win7. And while a Thief 4 presentation may take place at E3, it makes sense for a series release on GOG.
It's definitely Eidos/Square........also I get this info from a time traveller from the future who hired me through an ad in the local paper. He had only tried this once before.....well now twice.
"Our Hero 1 is cold, solid, and a bit of a loner. Also, he "works" for a huge organization. Can you find him on the list?"

47 "worked" for the International Contracts Agency.

Could also be Solid Snake, but 47 is more likely.

So the Fb hint points to Metal Gear and the publisher hint from here to Konami... Which leads me to guess at Castlevania as 2nd launch title, since it's about heroes.
So it seems like its Eidos/Square Enix and the hero 1 hints resemble Deus Ex while the hero 2 hints are almost certainly Hitman. However, the main page gives a picture of Thief.

So which 2 games is it?

Nah. Hero 2 is more likely 47. Facebook and Twitter are giving hints for separate heroes. Its probably JC Denton.

Well they said the games about the "two heroes" clues will be released.....I guess this means Deus Ex and Hitman......the main page graphic is a hint towards publisher(not a specific hint towards a game they will release on Thursday) so I guess it is a hint for Eidos. They could publish Thief later on though.

Lafazar: And in October 1982, Konami began manufacturing and selling PC games...

keeveek: And Jessica Biel was born in 1982 so it's ....
...she appeared in the film "Stealth", so it must be "Thief"

...and she also appeared in the film "Next" and her initials are JB, and we all know what comes next after JB ---- JC (Denton), so it must "Deus Ex"

...and her first name is Jessica, as in Jessica Rabbit and we know Agent 47 was friends with a rabbit, so it must be "Hitman"

Anyway you look at it, it's Eidos (QED)

Wait.....

"Our Hero 1 is cold, solid, and a bit of a loner. Also, he "works" for a huge organization. Can you find him on the list?"

J.C. Denton isn't on the list. Does Garrett "work" for a huge organization?

Garrett work(ed) (and works for albeit reluctently) for the keepers on occasion.
Just to summarize so far:

I. Publisher:
1. Started making PC games in 1982, but the company is older than that.

II. Hero 1:
1. Is not a hidden hero.
2. Is male, cold, solid, a bit of a loner and "works" for a huge organization. Also, may be found on this list.

III. Hero 2:
1. Knows how to stay unnoticed.
2. Was friends with a rabbit.
3. Can speak French and Russian.
