FInal update of the year,

Went back and beat Ys Origin one last time with Toal, to fight the true final boss. He also had the most story (while Yunica had the least). That's the problem with the game, you have to play through it three times to get the whole story and there's minimal changes in gameplay, as well as the postgame content being grindy.

And I enjoyed New Super Mario Bros. 2 a lot more than I expected to (I wasn't actually interested in buying it and probably wouldn't have if not for a b2g1 free sale). I liked the level design, pacing, and powerups a lot more than NSMBW. Though the gimmick is a bit out of place, would make more sense in a Wario game. And it was a bit too easy, especially when you probably get a one up every couple of minutes without even trying due to coins all over the place.

Finally, I was playing almost to the last minute, but I beat Code of Princess. A bit disappointing for a spiritual followup to Guardian Heroes. Lacked the branches and such that GH had, and was a bit slower paced. Story was mostly silly, and had a tendency to toss out plot twists out of nowhere and then act like everyone knew it all along. Maybe it would come up sooner if I played the other character's storylines.

Biggest surprise of the Year: Hmm, Blood probably. I was surprised how good it is. Otherwise I usually got what I expected.

Biggest disappointment of the Year: XIII (Among unfinished games it would be Shadow Warrior. I was surprised how much worse is it than Blood)

We steal time from other people. It's why you never seem to have time for games. Parents, hobbyists and people who work a lot of overtime are prime targets.
