Altho 5 is great, IV is DRM-free retail and after you purchase is with expansions, you're pretty much set for life.

Indeed. I see nothing wrong with wanting the games you like on GOG, specially when they aren't available DRM-free anywhere.

Saberwolf_Prime: Look what happened to PopCap games. Plants Vs Zombies was great, but after EA got their hands on them PVZ2 is smartphone and tablet exclusive with micro-transactions.

mistermumbles: Yup, I was totally bummed out when EA gobbled them up and that shit started happening. I wasn't at all surprised by the change though. I still don't get why they cashed out like that. They were well known for they're quality casual game fare. I highly doubt they had financial trouble of any sort, seeing how massively successful their Bejeweled and Zuma games, and the first PvZ was.

They even brought out one of my to date favorite 'mobile' games for free: Candy Train. Loved that game. Sadly, after the takeover it wasn't long before that disappeared. Also no surprise. =/
Yes, they were doing solid financially. I think Microsoft wanted to buy them earlier but the deal fell through and EA offered them more. Sadly EA is infamous acting like 'The Borg' when it comes to developers.

don't want anyone offended , i like Gog but i wonder if some day come this type of games to Gog
They'd have to be DRM-free. That means easier and safer pirating for users. So the publishers have to wait for games to get old and irrelevant before putting them up here. Also, blocking cheaters from online modes would be difficult if games let a user just make more accounts without rebuying games. Account-bound multiplayer is going to be around for a while.

I really enjoy Shadow of Mordor. It's a simple game built on the Batman Arkham games engine with a nifty Nemesis system painted over the top of it for even more fun.

Why am I only just learning this now?!

OK, initial incredulous reaction aside, I just checked a certain site that distributes .exe cracks. It seems there is DRM on Civ IV:
- SafeDisc v4 (C4: v4.60 / BtS: v4.60/v4.81) + Custom Code (SDAPI)
- SecuROM v7 (C4C)

Do have a link to this DRM-free version you speak of?
