Rimworld. Something really funny happened this morning. A rabbit went rabid and attacked two of my settlers. Their bites got infected and one of them died. The other became too weak to do much, leaving only one settler to do all of the work. Shortly after, a fire broke out during a lightning strike, and my entire outpost burned to the ground.
And it all started with a vicious rabbit attack.
I was defeated by Bugs Bunny. Think I'll just take a break from gaming for a bit. I... I may be getting too old for this.
This is a close approximation of what happened (the footage of my outpost exploding in a goddamn ball of flames was left out for time considerations)

Let me tell you my story: turtle goes berserk (yes, a really slooooooooooooooow turtle). Bites my "colony marshall", the guy loses his leg, and after months of being prostrated, a trader ship came by and sold me a replacement pegleg. I almost put him in a cryo chamber an the miracle happened.
The game's a fucking emotional rollercoaster.

Recently there's been some shuffling in my most-played-games list:
I have quit and uninstalled Return to Castle Wolfenstein (the old Steam version) and 7554. Return to Castle Wolfenstein got too hard for me when I had to fight Deathshead and his Übersoldat. 7554 turned out to be too difficult even in the beginning on easy, when defending the first building you find yourself in during the uprising in Hanoi.
Games installed that I'm mostly playing now:
Bioshock Infinite (got it because of getting it for €1,- by voting for the Golden Joystick awards)
Rome: Total War II (got it in the Humble Total War Bundle, together with a Total War T-shirt and lots of codes that I should start a giveaway for, like Napoleon and Empire that I already have and Total War: Battles games that I won't do anything with).
XCOM: Enemy WIthin (base game for €1,- by voting for last year's Golden Joystick awards, then bought the expansion at a discount)
All of those are Steam games, I know. I reserve heavy-handed principles for not buying things that impact the environment or animal welfare, like not flying (because of the fuel usage), buying only organic meat - and only eating meat like once a month or so - I don't see a point in making DRM a total-boycott thing, to me it's just a minor issue, compared with overpopulation or loss of biodiversity. I'd rather keep my gunpowder dry for those things.
If there's a game I like for sale for less than €5,- (an acceptable as-long-as-the-service-lasts rental price) I do buy Steam games sometimes. However as you can only play them as long as the service lasts, I tend to play them first, reserving most of my GOG games for darker times when internet shuts down (though I don't know where I'd get the electricity to run my desktop in times of a societal collapse due to Peak Oil).

I just finished Hitman: Codename 47. Jesus, what an aggression evoking game. This game should be banned worldwide because of this. But the aggression doesn't come from the story or the violence but the bad controls, the lack of saving and the trial and error gameplay. I'm not sure I want to play a Hitman game ever again!

Borderlands 1, played 134 hours so far Solo, only have 2 quests to finish 'braaaaaains' and 'it's cristmas time'
Went to put some stuff in the bank at the underdome, and thought lets have a go at the big tournament [gully] solo, already did the little ones.
Six hours later, I'm on round 17[out of 20] wave 3 [each round has 5 waves 5th is a boss] and the game crashed. so gutted, can't save playing the underdome. had lots of good upgrades..
I'm on my first playthrough level 48 Hunter, this has really pissed me off, loaded the game up a few minutes ago, I'm back with my old crap gear, six wasted hours.
Have a good weekend.
PS @viperfdl +1 for 1000 congrats

Resident Evil IV
I'm enjoying it. There are quicktime events, and it's a third-person action shooter, but there's no strafing, so controls are clunky. But, clunky controls were part of the charm of the first two games, which I loved.
I'm having fun with it.

Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition(XBOX360)
Putting a good deal of time in to this one(again), I would play the pc version but well I run into some problems running under wine and well my xbox 360 version is a lot farther along. Really enjoying all the dlc this edition has though I keep running into a forever loading error when entering in freeside north for some reason which requires a reset of my xbox which is driving me crazy.. though I completed 95% of the missions in that area so it shouldn't be that big of a issue for too long.
Civilization 5 Complete Edition
After finally beating the vanilla game on normal difficulty I decided to buy the complete edition, still enjoying the game though getting used to all the new dlc at the moment.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes(XBOX360)
Wow this has got to be the shortest "game" {demo} I've played in years.. I just got it "free" with my last month of live gold so I thought I'd check it out since it's been years since I've touch a MGS game(since mgs3). Didn't really like the openness of everything compared to the older mgs games and feels to much like a full on action game at times(if you choose to play like that).
