What frustrates me is that when I'm done with this game, I"ll likely go back and play Morrowind. And, at first, I'll breath a sigh of relief over how much more open and free that game was... and then I'll start getting frustrated because it lacks some of the polish and more advanced features of the newer games. Morrowind, would likely be in my my top 5 picks for an official game remake (since that is all the rage these days).
I'm just pointing at them, but don't really know what they're like, as I own all three games but never played Oblivion, Skyrim and Morrowind I both played just for a few hours, but I bookmarked the Morroblivion site for when I try my hands again at Morrowind, I intend to do it in the Oblivion engine as Morrowind has quite ugly early-3D-looks in my eyes.
But I love the fan works and can tell that aside from bone-headed concessions made during development, the original devs still put a lot of love into the game. Its definitely bitter-sweet in my book.
