Even though it's long labeled as "completed" I've decided to bring back the Wishlist entry for these games.
It's likely to be a wasted effort, but maybe someone at GOG will try to convince EA that they can still earn some bucks by selling here.

If anyone is interested in having these games on GOG, please vote:

It is sad to see UU 1+2 being delisted from GOG. Glad I bought it a long time ago, though fortunately the news comes while the Summer Sale is still in effect.

Also, if there is a remake or a remaster being made, it might be interesting to see how it developes. That's a BIG assumption of course. :)

I created a thread on EA's forums

https://answers.ea.com/t5/EA-General-Questions/Why-are-EA-games-starting-to-get-delisted-from-GOG-com/m-p/10460479#M368977

don't know if anyone will respond but if more people voice there complaints there we could get something.

If you check out Stephen Kick (CEO of Nightdive) Twitter, he seems to hinting that Nightdive will be releasing new "big box" editions of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, and possibly even Half-Life. Maybe Nightdive, Limited Run Games, or a similar company got the rights to do a "big box" run of these games and that's somehow related to the delisting?

I think a 10-year contract expiring and EA not caring enough to renew is the most likely reason though, sadly.

Just FYI: GOG isn't going to "uncomplete" these wishes (since the votes were fufilled and GOG wants "recent" info on how many people want the games back) so voting for these specific ones is I think a waste.

The wishes I created for "re-releases":

I'll certainly chime in but at this point I don't think EA cares (seeing as both you, I and others have created similar threads for years asking for more releases here), unfortunately

Just a matter of time until someone brings up the "muh piracy!" argument.

Consider editing in and promoting the wishes I created for "re-releases" instead, please:

Fixed.

Syndicate Wars is not even available on Origin. A removal from here will send the game back to Abandonware Hell. As for the first Syndicate, the Origin storepage makes no mention of it including the expansion, so it might also share a similar fate.

SmollestLight: It was the publisher. I have changed it, sorry for the brief period of confusion!
In the future, consider automatically posting this to the GOG subreddit also, unless there are legal restrictions somehow.
Ultima Underworld 1+2 were released on 2nd of June, 2011. If it was the deal with EA was expiring and EA not wanting to keep those games on GOG, they would have requested it earlier (I think that the license for 10 years didn't start with the official release, but with signing the deal, which had to be even earlier).

Syndicate was released on 30th of April, 2012 and Syndicate Wars on 23rd of May, 2013.

Of course it could be that both Syndicate games were signed at the same time as UU, but other EA games are not affected (for now?) and I don't think that GOG signed separate deal for UU and other Ultima games.

I'd rather say those games will get remakes or EA sold them to someone else (THQ Nordic?)
Terrible news for great games. :-(

Why was this announcement made only now, so close to the removal date?

karnak1: Maybe they're gonna be removed sooner or later as well.
I fear this is exactly the case. If anyone wants EA games, now's the time to buy them specially with them being on sale.

Grargar: Syndicate Wars is not even available on Origin.
Which makes me wonder if the delisting could be happening out of pure spite.
The contract for Ultima Underworld 1+2 and the Syndicates is running out, perfect time to take them away (and put them back up either over on the other platform, selling a few copies to those who still haven't picked them up on GoG or on Origin where virtually nobody gives a toss about games older than 10, even 5 years).
Ouch, that's a loss. Thank you for the heads up.

Any chance you can convince EA to add regional pricing to these? Please? I've been asking for years.

An EA community manager actually replied to your thread. Good job! Also added my voice in.

But anyway, the games are currently all for $1.49 a pop. No reason not to grab them. Better be safe than sorry in case they never come back. And even if they do, you are risking they will come back with a big price bump, as has already happened to several games.

aluinie: Well might have found a clue. Just went to when i purchased Ultima underworld when it was first released here and the date was June 2011 so might be gog could only sell those games for 10 years.

Mr.Mumbles: That sounds like the most plausible reason: their original contract is expiring. That still sucks though because all the others will go up in smoke, too. :( It's not like anyone really goes to Origin to buy these or signs up for Origin Access/EA Play to play them. It's just such a baffling move.
We just have to hope and twist this into a possible opportunity. Letting yourself be heard in the thread wolfsite made on EA forums is probably the best thing to do right now so they don't forget GOG exists and that they have games here.

I also think making a separate thread about it on the general discussion forum would be good to get more eyes on it as the sticky threads often get overlooked.
