Fonzer: Just bought ultima underworld and syndicate plus. Syndicate wars i don't have money currently for it but don't know if that one is a good game and reached 400 games on gog. Though a few are just goodies counting as games. Weird that they are removing them from the store
Check out some gameplay videos or something. It's pretty good. Nuclear grenades are fun.
Well crap! That sucks. Maybe this is the end of EA on GOG :-/

I'm surprised EA hasn't thrown the classics up on Steam by now.

karnak1: It's also possible that EA have plans to launch a new game in the Syndicate or Underworld franchises and want to regain absolute control over the ip and selling rights.

teceem: So why are other EA games that have non-GOG sequels here? Assassin's Creed, Dragon Age, etc...

Anyway, sad news.
Assassin's Creed is not an EA game lol. That one is developed and published by Ubisoft.

I know, funny mistake. I don't know why I wrote that when I was actually thinking of Dead Space (yeah, not much in common with AC).
Edit: I'll correct it.

SmollestLight: on developer's request, Ultima Underworld 1+2 will be delisted from our catalog
Late payback for refusing Underworld Ascendant? Oh well, at least there won't be any more complaints about "why can't I buy the complete series on gog?".

Or is the sad reality that the developer (which has been defunct since... the year 2000, I think?) had nothing to do with this request and the removal was requested by EA (the publisher)?

Inquiring minds want to know!

It was the publisher. I have changed it, sorry for the brief period of confusion!
Very odd move, does EA actually expect those games to be profitable exclusively with Origin's main audience?
These "old ass games with shitty graphics", really?

Thanks!

Bizarro move on EA's part, really.
WTF? Are they planning some "remaster" or what?
Luckily I already own all those titles, but delistings are always annoying.
Luckily I already bought these games years ago.

Honestly I would see two possibilities, either the creator or somebody else managed to purchase the rights from them (e.g. Devolver) or EA is planning on a remake. Given that their first tentative to "remake" Syndicate was a commercial flop I don't see EA trying again but you never know maybe they plan on some mobile version.

Possibly but I doubt it. They already "reimagined" Syndicate, years ago, into an FPS. It's not horrible but it isn't quite Syndicate. One of the co-op maps is the Atlantic Accelerator. Not sure if any of the other maps are from Syndicate Plus.
Very sad to see some of the best games getting delisted due to EA. I hope they will come back soon enough

aluinie: Well might have found a clue. Just went to when i purchased Ultima underworld when it was first released here and the date was June 2011 so might be gog could only sell those games for 10 years.
That sounds like the most plausible reason: their original contract is expiring. That still sucks though because all the others will go up in smoke, too. :( It's not like anyone really goes to Origin to buy these or signs up for Origin Access/EA Play to play them. It's just such a baffling move.
