Maybe EA is trying to push their EA Play subscription service and just keep it all there?
Maybe EA wants to sell their games only on their EA Origin or EA Desktop App clients?

Maybe EA plans to remaster or remake these games?

Who knows. [shrug]

Thank you
It's obviously Ziggurat Interactive going after EAs classic titles and they will be back "soon"

SmollestLight: We’d like to inform you that, on publisher's request, Ultima Underworld 1+2, Syndicate Plus and Syndicate Wars will be delisted from our catalog on Monday, June 28th, 1 PM UTC.

For everyone who purchased the titles prior to delisting, they will remain in their GOG library.
Ohh no, this is a really bad new, I have both Syndicate games on my wishlist but I don't have money to purchase it right now :/
They will release a remaster or something to replace them? With the originals as goodies?

It seems smollest light edited their post to say "on publishers request" so that was an error on GOGs end.

Heh, the posts came flying in since I saw yours. It was second to current when I replied. (I think) :D

They are not exactly pricey right now. However, I did donate 1 of each to the GOG giveaway so if you are quick you might be able to request one if you are eligible. Good luck. :)

Yes, thanks, I noticed.

What surprises me though is that your quote of SmollestLight's post partially shows up in standard white rather than moderator blue. I think we just stumbled upon another hitherto unknown bug in gog's forum software!

Maybe it is as you say and Ziggurat bought the IP for those titles from EA and that is why they are being de-listed. ;)

Just for the exchange of ownership.

Bing.777: These games were fantastic btw, especially for their time. Hard to believe Ultima Underworld was doing full 3D environments a year and a half before DOOM was released.
They still hold up even today, they are still a load of fun -- I highly suggest everyone grab these gems ASAP!

wolfsite: I created a thread on EA's forums

https://answers.ea.com/t5/EA-General-Questions/Why-are-EA-games-starting-to-get-delisted-from-GOG-com/m-p/10460479#M368977

don't know if anyone will respond but if more people voice there complaints there we could get something.
Yeah, just came from there myself, I hope the community manager isn't blowing smoke up our ass, and will actually communicate this to the "teams" I still doubt it will have any effect as ea could give two shits about the people buying their games!

SmollestLight: It was the publisher. I have changed it, sorry for the brief period of confusion!

tfishell: In the future, consider automatically posting this to the GOG subreddit also, unless there are legal restrictions somehow.
Actually, this is how I found out about it in the first place!

Game disappearing makes me always sad:/

Are there any hints, this may be the case?

karnak1: I admit I'm a bit shocked at the apparent lack of reaction from the GOG customer base (usually so fast to jump at certain controversial issues) :(
I hope it's because many are not used to pay attention to the "stickies".
It's likely a combo of that(many seem to mostly ignore the stickies section of the first page of GD) and also the fact that the forums aren't used by much of the userbase.

Fonzer: Just bought ultima underworld and syndicate plus. Syndicate wars i don't have money currently for it but don't know if that one is a good game and reached 400 games on gog. Though a few are just goodies counting as games. Weird that they are removing them from the store
If you haven't purchased it by the time of delisting & still really want it(as in you'll probably likely play it at some point), then make sure to hit me up(PM or forum reply) sometime after the delisting & i'll see what I can do. :)

fronzelneekburm: Typical and rather expected move on EA's part, really.
Corrected that for ya ;)
