Added them all, thank you :)
2001 was another great year. Some of the highlights for me are:

- Aliens vs Predator 2
- Clive Barker's Undying
- Grand Theft Auto III
- Half Life: Blue Shift
- Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2
- Max Payne
- Red Faction
- Return to Castle Wolfenstein

I started playing Blade of Darkness, recently. Never played it when it came out, but I'm looking forward to continue it.

NOTE: My second son is expected to be born in the next couple of days. I'll try my best to keep this thread updated as much as possible, but if it starts to get behind, now you know the reason. Thank you.
And some more:
-- Tropico, from Tropico Reloaded
-- Siege of Avalon: Anthology, although Siege of Avalon was released in 2000

-- Icy Tower
-- Lego Racers 2
-- and another MMO, RuneScape
Quite a few games listed in my backlog that I've been meaning to play. If my computer wasn't doa I'd be in for a couple. I might be able to play some of them I have on ps2.
I haven't taken part in one of these before, but I like the idea.

2001 was a huge year for console gaming, what with the PS2 having just launched and the Xbox and Gamecube both launching. Perhaps a smaller one for PC gaming.

I've had Anachronox on my backlog for a ridiculous number of years. I think I'll actually give that a go. From that list I also have Soul Reaver 2, Red Faction and Wizardry 8 in my backlog. I'd rather play the Legacy of Kain games in order though (almost done with Blood Omen), and I'm not sure about playing Wizardry 8 before 6 and 7.

Added all of these. RuneScape was already in the list. Thank you.

If you decide to play any game that's on the list, or one that isn't but is from 2001, let me know and I'll add you to the list.

Oops, I missed it.

I think I'll give campaigns in Cossacks a try.

Awesome! You've just been signed!
Lot's of great games on the list. First one I will play this month is Runaway: A Road Adventure. It was pretty high on my priority list anyway and it seems to be a game that isn't too long. So I'm quite optimistic that I will be able to complete it this month.

Congratulations bluethief! Thanks for sharing this joy!

About the time travel, it is so tempting as usual having so many good vgames to visit...
But I am sorry that I have pending time jumps all over the place already...
This time, I change my strategy and will leap forward silently to play the game(s) and once I return I'll report to you the mission accomplished :)

Happy journeys fellows! I am eager to meet the new Captain jr :)
Read you around!
I've already started playing and I hope this first screenshot isn't a warning for the player.

It seems that the thread has caught up to me instead of the other way around, seeing as I'm playing Diggles. So sign me up with that. But I started it back in October and just recently went deeper, to where you can also find iron and coal, so chances of finishing in the foreseeable future seem slim.
2001 was another great year for PC gaming. Playing games chronologically I've already been in 2001 for a while now (lots of very good user-made maps for Age of Wonders was released in 2001).

Games I replayed:
Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter
Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter - Trials of the Luremaster. Completed it this time.
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Overall not as good as the base game, but still fun.

Games I played for the first time:
Gothic. Very solid RPG.
Serious Sam: The First Encounter. Surprisingly fun FPS, "old school" already in 2001.
Wizardry Chronicle. Missing from the OP's list, this rare JRPG made for Windows is the only CRPG I've ever had to grind in order to complete. Also having good level design it's a solid CRPG of the blobber variety.
The Earth Lords. Very obscure, but surprisingly fun indie CRPG.
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. Pity about the poor combat system. Could have been a masterpiece with Icewind Dale style combat.

Games I tried, bit found lacking:
Clive Barker's Undying (boring)
Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel. There is a lack of control compared to Xcom and Jagged Alliance.
Grand Theft Auto III. Only tried it due to having a physical copy still wrapped in plastic after 20 years. "Cool" shaky cam and a gargantuan "quest arrow" made me instantly hate it.

I passed on Half-Life: Blue Shift. I loved H-L and Opposing Force, but Blue Shift was I remember thinking was rather dull in comparison
I couldn't play Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis AKA ArmA: Cold War Assault, due to getting motion sickness, and there's no way to turn off head bobbing.

Looking forward to Civ 3 and Wizardry 8.

I used to love Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, but I'm not so sure I would like it so much today.
