Time Travel #4 - random year challenge
I'm in. Let's see, if I'm able to find more daredevils for that ;)
What about two concurrent threads for the 4th trip(call it a timeline split maybe)? Like the normal thread for 1998, and also one for a random year...both running during the same two month period.

Sound good?

Hello ciemnogrodzianin and dear fellow time travellers!

I would not mind to include the random destination onc in a while, and do agree with GamezRanker's suggestion of two concurrent threads (one for the regular sequence destination and one parallel for the random one).
Having choices is good... although, I myself am still continuing my games from 1996 for a while after an health issue and a lack of focus did hold me back from reaching a certain selfimposed milestone in them.

Good luck travellers!
And have fun!

Kind regards,
foxgog

And doing so would please both those who want to keep going in order(1998, 1999, etc) and those who like the random year idea. Plus if new threads now go for two months instead of one, it would make doing the two concurrent threads more viable.

Hello GamezRanker!

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I suffered an accident a couple of weeks ago that affects my mobility on my upper right body side. I am somewhat recuperating, but it seems that due to the pandemic the doctors here do not want to investigate further into anything that is neither Covid-19 nor immediately life-threatening. Instead of thoroughly examining the actual cause they only treat symptoms by means of medications...

Anyway, I am grateful that I can walk, continue doing my work (already teaching for some years) and daily activities, but having almost no strength and reduced mobility in my right arm is challenging. I stopped taking painkillers while waiting for a potential upcoming consultation by an orthopedist who might authorize further examinations.

Due to the circumstances, I was trying out some more relaxed, slow-paced games, such as the recently released Links golf games (and similar ones).

The extended two-month-period is favourable for me, as well.

Kind regards,
foxgog

Thanks! OP updated.
With the last thread getting a single entrant and no follow up posts even to that, interest obviously dropped to basically zero, and there was no new thread at the start of this month anyway. But, if somebody is to continue this, I wonder if we could give a shot to going back, just in case a part of the problem is that we got into neither here nor there territory, games too new for those who are interested in older ones and too old for those who generally play new ones. Sure, the sweet spot is probably late 90s and early 00s, and those were already covered, but with the first year having been 1995, maybe doing 1994 next might rekindle least a little interest, in which case we could keep going down for a few more years after that.
In my case i didn't participate more because i was a bit shame. Last entry was in 1997 with Blade Runner, City of Lost Children and Zork but my few time playing games and tastes didn't match in time with the active years.

My time machine broke, stuck in the 90s.

I participated in several time travel threads and even completed a few games.

Don't know how I missed the last thread. Probably I was distracted by other games I was playing (I'm looking at you DYSMANTLE and Yakuza 0). It's a shame, because it was the year of Runaway 3 and I completed the first two games informer time travel threads.

If the time travel goes on, I will try to participate again. But I would like random years and not a strict order. Maybe put everything from 1985 to 2022 into random.org and let the fate decide (maybe just exclude the last three destinations).
