Investigators,
We are constantly scouting for new recruits for the Orwell Project. But, as many of you have legtimately voiced, our surveillance effort would never be able not realize its full potential as long as it didn't include more languages.

This changes today! The Government of The Nation has spared no expense to present you official localizations of the Orwell software in
- German
- French
- Spanish
- Russian
- Chinese
as well as an unofficial localization in Portuguese (Brazil), put together by some of our most loyal citizens on translate.orwell-game.com. Also, we would like to say thank you to all our citizens who have pointed out errors minor imperfections in the Public Localization Beta, which is hereby concluded. Note that more languages will be added through future updates.

Additionally, the update brings tons improvements our engineers have worked on tirelessly in the recent months, such as a much demanded phone call text speed slider, a brand new hack effect intrusion warning, some reworked documents, and much shorter loading times.

Along with the launch of our Kickstarter campaign for Everspace 2, we've just released a new patch for the original Everspace featuring a number of tweaks and bugfixes.

Here's the complete list of changes:

Tweaks

- Show energy allocation of passive devices in ship stats screen
- VR: tweaked the display of some HUD markers
- Linux: Added missing option to change the size of the HUD markers
- Added button in main menu advertising the Kickstarter campaign for Everspace 2. Will automatically remove itself on January 8th, 2020 (Windows, Mac)

Early Access Hotfix I (28 September 2019)

We had a big day yesterday. We played Encased with you, watched streamers die in Magellan's elevator and, of course, read your reviews. Thank you for all your warm words, support and many many questions. We’re still working through your emails. Some of them are bug reports, reporting game errors.

Having closely reviewed these messages, we prepared the first quick patch that should fix the most critical and unpleasant bugs. Here’s a short list of corrections:

- Fixed Training day completion on GOG version,
- Fixed Cain achievement,
- Smoothed player’s character movement,
- Weapons close range precision tweaked (most of firearms),
- Fixed a logical error in the dialogue with Jana Zilberman,
- Fixed the title of the article on the tablet (-4 floor, laboratory),
- Fixed discovered errors and spelling mistakes,
- Training ground: Fixed access to the ammo box,
- Residential floor: Fixed access to the locker,
- The dialogue with Ben Koch no longer shuts down, and he takes lunch from the player correctly,
- Problems with interactivity and access to certain areas have been resolved,
- Gas Station: the turret has been moved closer to the cafe entrance, and the truck has been moved to the cafe entrance. Player can now see Clara Morgan,

- Fixed incorrect display of the font on the clock in the interface,
- The message "Happy find" is no longer displayed if nothing is found,
- On the character creation screen, added a window to confirm skill selection,
- Expanded active zone when selecting a favorite skill,
- Fixed a bug where the tooltip on the weapon did not turn off after closing the container, using barter, or "Pocket Theft" skill via hotkey,
- Fixed a bug that occurred when opening a container while pressing F,,
- Fixed a bug with opening the location window when moving to the selected location on the global map.

Early Access Hotfix II (1 October 2019)

Hello, and welcome everyone to our next set of patch notes! This will likely become our “regular column” for the next couple of months. An Early Access launch is certainly no time relax, and in addition to eliminating bugs and finalizing localization, we’re also adding some additional content that should breathe life into the trackless desert.

Thank you to all the concerned users who regularly send us bug reports about anything that spoils your immersion or gameplay, or interferes with playthrough. And yes, hello too to our torrenting friends. We’re grateful for your input, but please make sure you’re running (pirating) the most recent version. Known Issues:

-In some circumstances the game may require a restart in order to apply graphics quality settings changes. e.g. If you have ‘Low’ settings applied at launch and change them to ‘Epic’ the game will require a restart in order to apply the changes

-When using a SteamVR device (Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, etc) the first time a user enters the minecart they may find themselves facing backwards. We’ve attempted a fix for it, but it caused more problems than it solved. User should be able to turn in the minecart and face forward with no issues.

Windows Mixed Reality headsets:

-A crash can occur if the headset is unplugged, fully powered off, etc. during gameplay

-Under some conditions with certain WMR headsets, the laser pointer will not take effect on the main menu, forcing the user to point with the headset and select the menu entry with the main button on the wand. Once in game, the input will correct itself.

-Ambient occlusion differences in each eye visible in some areas:

-Under some conditions, a difference in shadows and lighting can be noticed in each eye in some VR headsets.

-Mac OS Catalina (beta) may exhibit unusually long pauses and stuttering video playback.

-*MacOS Users: Due to changes in how and where save files are written to disk, once the game has been run after receiving the update, your save files will no longer be available in an older release. Users who choose to roll back to the previous release will need to manually move the files back to the original save location. Your original save file location can differ between two locations depending on OS release and when the directory was created: ~/Library/Containers/com.cyan.obduction/Data/Library/Application Support/Epic/Obduction/Saved/SaveGames or ~/Library/Application Support/Epic/Obduction/SaveGames
