Final surprise of the GOG 17th Anniversary!

From its haunting beginnings to a bold new era – SILENT HILL f is now available on GOG, alongside its Digital Deluxe Edition and Digital Deluxe Upgrade!

For decades, Silent Hill has stood as one of gaming’s most powerful explorations of fear, emotion, and the human psyche. Now, with SILENT HILL f, the series embraces a new generation while staying true to the heart that defined it. We’re proud to welcome this title to GOG, where it is DRM-free and yours to keep forever.

Check it out!

Please note that the Pink Rabbit Costume DLC and Bonus DLC (including the Artbook and OST) are currently available only through GOG GALAXY. We’re aware of the issue and are working on a fix to make them fully accessible offline in the coming days. We apologize for the inconvenience.

i have no problem with the price. I can definitely see myself replaying it at least twice to see different endings. happy i waited, i nearly bought it on ps5.

petravonkant: As expected, GOG forum continues to be the most penny-pinching community on the internet. Even Clair Obscur, which released at a relatively budget price, caught a few "nah, I'll wait for a sale" comments.

I know it's been discussed to death, but GOG really needs to restrict reviews to people who've actually bought the game. It's far too easy for people to review bomb games on here without buying them.

A perceived high price is not a reason to give a game a one-star review. It IS a great way to make a major Japanese publisher re-consider releasing games here at all, though, when anyone with no interest in the game can trash it the second it arrives.
Reviews from non verified owners should really not be an option imo :l

UCrest: However, I've also seen some things in the store that I'm still not convinced about, for example: Users can now delete their GOG accounts.

And I ask, who would delete their GOG account when they're buying DRM-free PC games?

Because someone who has bought from the store and spent money on it would delete their account.

[...]

I don't know, I like to see favorable changes in the store, but there are other things, including the possibility for users to delete their accounts, that I honestly don't like.
The option to initiate deletion of one's own account has been there in the settings for several years at this point. I wouldn't be too surprised if it's existed in some form for as long as I've been here (which would also mean for as long as you've been here ;) ), but I'm fairly certain it's been five years at the very least.

Any site should offer users a way to delete their accounts, and/or most user data that the company might've collected on a given user, upon request. There are very solid privacy and security reasons one might want to do so. Leaving an account active when you know you're never going to touch it again can be a bad idea, depending on the site in question and what info that account might have tied to it.
Granted, there should also be a bit of friction to account deletion -- particularly in cases where there are actual, persistent purchases tied to the account in question. I don't know how GOG's process for it works; if it's literally one or two clicks, with no extra 2FA verification or double-check from Support, then that's not a good implementation. But the option should absolutely exist.

Chacranajxy: They'll probably just dump the Master Collection here at some point instead. Wasn't the issue the licensing for some of the footage they used in cut scenes? That might have only been resolved for the Master Collection, specifically.

BanditKeith2: True though wouldn't surprise me if seeing as they can be bought separately just dump 2 here and leave the o.3 third game so we'd need to get Delta . Would love to be proven wrong getting the whole Master Collection volume 1 and yes it was some archival footage licensing they refused to renew

BanditKeith2: I'd say depends on a games age to restrict or not. Like ''fairly new to new.'' restrict.. fairly old ones don't restrict
The option to only see reviews from verified owners has existed for a few years now, and there's also a specific rating average that only takes verified owners' ratings into account. I don't know why this bothers some people so much when the problem has already long since been solved.

Why not? People could own a game on a console or another PC platform already, what's wrong with allowing people to share their opinions?

Also GOG already lets you filter out non verified reviews which makes this an entirely moot point.

True I juat knew mentioning that fact would get a''Doesn't matter non verified owners shouldn't be allowed to review '' as is usually the case so was looking for a ''middleground'' situation

Not really I silent Hill fan, but I think it's a pretty cool thing for Konami to do to have a DRM-free release of a brand-new title.
AFAIK Japanese devs and pubs tend to be very wary of releasing anything without DRM.

Then they should leave a review there instead ;)
This otherwise is a huge opportunity for abuse, witch hunts and personal grudges to come into play.
I just dont think it belong anywhere on the platforms itself to be able to do this. Maybe on general universal non sale sites but not the stores themself.
Just my oppinion, it falls in the same nono category as fake/bought reviews, I hate them :o

Yes I filter them out by default, but its not a moot point imo b/c some ppl do read them, some reviews are from ppl who did NOT buy/own the game but just leave a review based on something else, not their actual gameplay.
Also not a moot point if those actually count in the review score, im not sure if they do?
Or maybe just in the total review counter but not the score itself?

If they do count, its a huge risk factor. Ex. you could go and create 20 accounts here, leave a bad review without wanting to buy it on day 1 to hurt the devs, b/c u have a grudge against their previous release of another game that had something or another that put u on a path of revenge for whatever petty reason.
That sort of stuff makes me think it shouldnt be posible /shrug.
Unless ofc u got the option to link it/prove u own it elsewhere so u go in the verified category:)

Sadly, without a 10-15% launch discount, I can’t day-one buy like I want to, but I’m definitely wishlisting for Black Friday. $80 is just barely too much after last weeks haul of E33 and several others, but I’m really happy this came so soon, and I will definitely pick it up as soon as I can afford to.

Now if only Capcom, Square Enix, Bamco, Marvelous and Koei Tecmo could step up their game here. Need more Senran Kagura, Resident Evil, Mega Man, Final Fantasy, Warriors, Ninja Gaiden, Klonoa, Code Vein, Dark Souls, Atelier, Nier, Balan Wonderworld, Star Ocean, Nioh, Monster Hunter…

No me gusta la saga Silent Hill , pero Silent Hill f con la ambientación japonesa y el giro de mecánicas me ha hecho querer este juego.

$106.49 Canadian ....

Even if I was filthy rich I would not pay that for a full game. Ridiculous.
