I dont think ive ever played a silent hill game, how good is the series? Where does this game place?

Based on my reading, this game is considered the black sheep of the Silent Hill series. I recommend starting with the remake of Silent Hill 2, or if you want to explore deeper , emulate the first game.

SH f is more of a standalone title in the vein of SH2, tho it doesn't take place in the town of SH

As someone who hasn't played Silent Hill, you might actually be the best audience for it. People who haven't played Silent Hill before seem to be more receptive to the game than longtime fans. I've heard a few people say it's a good game, but not a good Silent Hill game.

There's definitely some shared lore between games, especially in how Silent Hill (the town) functions, but most of the games aren't so connected that you can't pick one up and mostly enjoy it as a standalone experience.

So, everyone was right. Which means no worthwile releases for me during this sale. Ah well, not really much of an issue, seeing how I already have 140 games on my wishlist, but still irrationally it feels a bit disappointing.

I have very mixed feelings about this release. On one hand it is nice to see a new Konami game come to GOG so relatively soon. On the other is yet another case where GOG users are deprived of a chance to acquire a full game.

If it was set to release on GOG merely 2 weeks after Steam, Konami should have just allowed us to pre-order too, despite the delayed release, or offered a launch bonus, like Bloober Team did with Cronos.

I don’t feel very motivated to buy this at full price if it will forever be incomplete. I may as well wait for a massive discount and hope for a mod that will enable the pre-order content.

Already got it on PS5 and double dipping at 80€ is a bit too expensive for me, but this is an amazing release. Will get it once it received a discount. :)

Guess i will as well wait for a tiny discount, as i got the PS5 version already... kinda same situation. Wrong maths... ~90 CHF are 84 GBP and 113 USD, for the Deluxe at least.
