The genre-divining sequel is finally here.

Divinity: Original Sin 2, is now available in its full glory, DRM-free on GOG.com.
After captivating players throughout its In Development cycle, the ambitious sequel to the critically-acclaimed turn-based RPG is now about to reach new heights. Combining deep pen-and-paper design philosophy with modern-day enhancements it offers a vast world rich in choice and dialogue, innovative 4-player co-op mode, flexible character creation, a powerful Game Master Mode, and of course the chance to meet Eithne, the community-inspired GOG.com hero.

For more godlike goodies, go for the Divine Edition, which includes a Digital Artbook, a Lorebook, a Map, the Soundtrack, a digital Art Pack and a Making-of video. If you don't want to commit just yet, you can always upgrade later.
Newcomers to the Divinity universe might want to go for the Eternal Edition: on top of the Divine Edition's contents, this pack also includes Divine Divinity, Divinity 2: Developer's Cut, Divinity: Original Sin + Design Documents, an Art Pack and the OST for that game.

Watch the trailer.

petchema: Waiting for Linux support.
Still have to play the first one anyway
Me too. We are currently at Level 12 in our co-op playthrough of D:OS EE and since we play only once a week, there's a certain time buffer until a Linux version of D:OS 2 becomes important for us.

We bought the Collector's Edition for 50% on sale, but we would gladly buy D:OS 2 for the full price. Even if it's "only" as good as the first one, it's absolutely worth it.

Dear developers, hear the call of your (Mac and) Linux fans who want to throw their money at you …

Hey all. Hope you're digging the game a ton, I stayed up way too late last night. >_>

Regarding Kickstarter content – we're aware of the issue with backer keys only granting the base edition, and we're working with Larian on getting the extra content delivered to everyone who should have it. All the things should show up in your accounts automatically, and it should start happening very soon!

Nice release. Really looks gorgeous. Now I only need more time. In the last weeks/months I could hardly find any time to play, so I can only wishlist this game.
I can't launch it on windows 10 with gtx 960. It crashes on start (already send the ticket), sad...

markdirish: Any plan on upgrade for the Eternal Edition?
avatar
Barry_Woodward: Ditto. I already own the base version of this game and I already have the previous Divinity games, but there are extras included in the Eternal Edition that aren't available anywhere else. I'm willing to pay extra for an upgrade to that tier, but not the full $89.99.
Wait Barry, not even in the Eternal Ascension upgrade?
Check it out, I think those might be the goodies you´re referring to :)
It would be really nice to have a Collector's Edition upgrade pack for D:OS 1, as a few extras are only available there, but I have no use of second copy of D:OS that is included in the CE price, not to mention won't pay that money for the missing artbook and soundtrack that are my only interests...
The Eternal Edition has the missing extras (only available in D:OS 1 CE), however I do have all the other games and extras included so paying for them again is not reasonable.

TLDR; please release an upgrade pack for D:OS 1 as well without the extra copy of the game :)

OdanUrr: Wow, this was sudden. I don't remember seeing it up for pre-order or anything. Did I miss it?

Pheace: It was in-dev/early access
Oh, that's right, I forgot. Still, a heads-up would've been nice.

Thanks looking forward to seeing the art books and hearing the soundtrack.
I wonder if they did anything to improve the co-op experience. Combat was fun with a friend, but the story-telling part of the first game really wasn't suited for co-op play, unless you were both very, very patient. Way too much words with too little actual information in them, and the other player was mostly excluded from conversations and could just stand by and listen to all the blathering. There were even issues with following the conversation for the second player, it was easy to miss the beginning of a dialogue and the text would always scroll up again with each new reply, making it hard to read. Just adding support for more players won't do on its own if these things haven't been fixed. Finding more players who are patient enough to just stand by and listen or read will even prove more difficult ...

Crafting your own stories with Game Master Mode sounds interesting, but it remains to be seen how flexible it really is. Many games announced features like this and couldn't live up to the promise. IIRC, you were supposed to be able to create your own adventures with DO:S already, but it doesn't seem like anyone ever did.

Maybe GOG could start selling "spare time upgrade packs"? I'm sure they would be very popular! ;)

It's in the works.
Excited and sad to see the official release day. Excited because I want to play it, sad because it's not in the budget for now.

Someday!
Looking good, Larian. I'll make sure to add this to my collection (and hopefully even play it some day, I haven't yet started on the previous one)... as soon as you release it for Linux.

Have you missed the 'Quit Your Job' upgrade path? It gives you lots of time, but sadly, it's prohibitively expensive. Most prefer to save the money and grind for the 'Things I'll Do When I'm Retired' free upgrade.
