In an effort to start some discussion, I'll post some things we can look at:

1) TwilightBard has shared some mechanics information that we can look at. Assuming he's being truthful about it, we can draw some conclusions about the nature of the game. If it looks like he isn't being truthful, then hey, "Lynch All Liars" says we have our next lynch (unless people don't care for this rule of thumb either, of course).

2) TwilightBard posted a role reveal for himself, and his read based on his power from last night. I'm guessing he read Bookwyrm627 rather than Adaliabooks last night, since I was more a topic of discussion than Adalia during Day 1.

3) Some people are scrutinizing Sage for the timing of her hammer.

4) If you have a different topic you'd rather investigate first, then mention it! We should have time to cover one or more of these, if people don't sit and stare at each other.

I would prefer to look at the mechanics first, since I think we'll be able to draw more factual type information from it. People should be checking back in today to see whether Night 1 is over, and If no one else has much to say in a few hours, then I'll start asking questions about the mechanics.

TwilightBard: The Nature of this game is that at the very least, power roles don't stick to one person, in my experience, so I don't know how much damage I can inflict by doing it now. At the very least, I am not a power role anymore, my death doesn't do anything except remove another person from play.

Ok, for the people that were curious, for Day 1 I WAS the Town Cop (Emphasis, HEAVILY on WAS). I don't have that ability now, it's gone to someone else, and I let RNG have it's pick of the townies so I didn't inadvertently do something stupid, and so I don't have an answer for anyone who tries to get me to prove it. I can't, and I don't have to resist the urge to slip up and ask for proof. Hell, I don't even know if it's the same power now, all I know is that it might be changed (Trying to keep from directly quoting my PM here), and that it's going to a townie.

As for who I investigated, I looked at Book to try to see if I can cut through some of the stuff we had been arguing about. And since I haven't come out immediately and voted for him, I can assume you all understand what the result might be. Not sure what it says about the people who were reading him as Town, everyone seems to be keeping their reasons too close to their chest for me to make an remote guess.
Interesting.
That sounds kind of what I'd have expected, so basically there is no such thing as a fixed role. Which means role claiming is useless, but also that scum can't hit power roles because the role will just swap to someone else...

More importantly, if Twilight is to be believed, Bookwyrm (I'm assuming as there was no s, and a capital B he meant Bookwyrm not me) is confirmed town. Which doesn't particularly surprise me. It does give more credence to the town tell thing, which puts dedo and RWarehall leaning town (I'm still sceptical that it 100% confirms them, although Lift telling RWarehall off for quoting his PM does suggest he probably is).

As for Hyper's NK, as other's have mentioned, I'm fairly sure he was chosen to deprive us of info because rereading his posts he really didn't engage with anyone significantly. I had suspected he might have a role (not gonna say why as it also implicates someone else as possibly having a role), and perhaps scum picked up on that too (combined with the lurking). But frankly I don't think there's anything to learn from that.

So far the thing that sticks out to me is Sage's hammer.. it just seems very out of the blue. It's not quite enough for me to vote on her, but she's certainly jumped up my watch list.
Hey everyone!

This is not game-related. I have to travel for the weekend and wifi access is nigh impossible here, so I won't be able to attend until I get home some time on Sunday. I hope things don't go too fast and the day will still be on when I re-emerge. If not, good luck!

I might like to add it also makes for an excellent opportunity for scum to false claim. IF scum try an early false claim and someone has information to the contrary, please do point it out ASAP! At least that way we can still have time to lynch one or both.

IF scum do hold the false claim in their pocket until late game, be VERY careful with that "walk in the park" victory dropped into your laps by a "cop."

Yeah, I meant Bookwyrm, sorry, didn't even realize that there was potential confusion there (I go by beginnings for most people here, easier to shorten). But yeah, I can confirm him.

As far as the town tell, that's harder to confirm. I still don't completely buy the one word town tell, and Robb's been holding any tells he's using fairly close to his chest. So I really don't know what way to call that, and at the very least, I don't think being able to call Bookwyrm's faction isn't a good indicator of the faction of other people.
Well boop. Boop boop boop. Stupid me didn't copy my message before hitting another reply button. Time to just type it straight in notepad.

This might be kind of long; I fully expect to be NK'd tonight (more on that later). It looks like everyone knows it is day, though Dedo will be gone until Sunday (at least).

Krypsyn: I posted my reply to Lifthrasil that erased my reads post (which I hurriedly remade without rationale). Ten to 15 minutes later Sage hammered. Ten to 15 minutes after than, I noticed it and posted my incomplete reads list. Five minutes after that Lifthrasil made the Dusk Post that ended the day.
Thanks Krypsyn. I feel a little better about the timing of Sage's hammer; I know I've certainly started a reply, gotten distracted, then not refreshed the page before posting. Still, seems odd to do so when we're in the "borrowed time" portion of waiting for nightfall. Sage's Day 2 posts haven't done a whole lot for my confidence level in her so far, though.

-Second, some people get a raised eyebrow:
1) Sage - Hammer vote and Day 2 posts, as described above.
2) Ix - seems rather erratic, though some of his posts look helpful.
3) Flub - also seems rather erratic.
4) JMich - Haven't heard much from him beyond the brief wagon analysis. Perhaps the lurkiest player so far on Day 2.
5) Dedo - Had time to contribute, said he was going to try, and now he's gone till at least some time on Sunday. I can sympathize with RL cropping up, but he's posted a few mostly empty comments in the last two RL days.
6) Me - What kind of weirdo has six eyebrows? (Yes, number 6 here is a joke)

-Third: Trent and TwilightBard have both moved toward the town end of my scale. Trent has some useful questions and comments, and Twilight's claim seems believable and will be very useful if true.

-Fourth:
The scum apparently didn't spend a whole lot of time discussing things last night. They picked their target, and maybe talked some about who they plan to try and lynch (and how). They might not have discussed a backup target, so if their initial plan fell through we can catch someone out.

Twilight, what else can you tell us about what you know of the mechanics? Can you lay it out in a list of facts? This might be something to coordinate with Lift, so you don't get zone-killed for quoting.
Example (using questions):
-You used your power, and now it has shifted to another player in some way. Was it because you used the power? Are you sure it will go to a townie, and not to scum?
-The power can change when passed to another player? How is this determined? Could another townie wind up with the cop power?

-Sixth:
I expect to die tonight, since several people are comfortable labeling me as town and now Twilight has claimed to use a cop role to scout me. Here are the possible scenarios, as I see them (assuming I were an outside observer):
1) TB is scum, and I'm scum. Neither of us will die unless scum has a janitor type power (no point in NK-ing killing team scum if town can see you did it). Even with a janitor power, it is still early to be whittling scum numbers.
2) TB is town, and I'm scum. Requires that TB got a faulty cop power and/or that I have a godfather power. Both of these scenarios seems kind of dick-ish in this format, but maybe there is more to the setup than we currently know. I, personally, know this scenario is false, but I'd say that regardless of my alignment.
3) TB is scum, and I'm town. This seems an odd play to me, though possibly workable. He would be confirming a townie and get some town points, but I'd need to be a NK target afterwards. Scum would also need to have come up with the rules for how powers work, which means they either have at least one power (so they already know) or they'd be shooting themselves in the foot by getting it wrong (we'd find out eventually and have easy lynch targets). If TB confirmed someone else instead of me, then my mouth might have made me lynch-able later, though I'm currently more town on a number of people's lists. I can be safely killed tonight while he gets town points.
4) TB is town, and I'm town. The power worked as expected. If scum kill him, that prety much confirms me completely (unless they janitor him as well), so they have to NK me later anyway. If scum NK me, TB isn't fully cleared. I figure this is the most likely scenario.

Either way, unless some other target manages to become awesomely un-ignorable (or scum tries to cast doubt by leaving us alone), I expect I'll be joining Hijack and HSL in the observer lounge. On the bright side, I'll be able to post more of my joke-type thoughts there.

Are you feeling guilty about something? Is there anyone who deserves to be trusted?

In this highlighted section, why did you refer to towns victory as someone other than yours? You said "dropped into your laps". Why did you not include yourself? That would have read "dropped into our laps"

Bookwyrm627:
I understand why you want to know about the mechanics of the game Bookwyrm, but I'm still not a fan of discussing it too much. All it does is allow the scum to know how to manipulate the situation. If some form of power is shifted each night, now the scum know that and it makes any false claiming they do easier. Would they have known that if we did not discuss mechanics? I'm not sure, but I would guess no. Any talk about roles, powers, etc.. can be beneficial in certain situations, but too much and the advantage goes to scum.

On a side note I will be leaving town tomorrow night and returning Wednesday, but I will have internet connection most of the time and will still post. If for some reason I will be out of touch I will inform Lift.

Yup, that's it I'm feeling guilty.....

I trust me only at this point. Although TwilightBard's investigation helps.

Finally the sun rises and a bleak new day starts. You soon realize that one of your first tasks for this day, apart from finding the killer(s), will be to bury the bodies and clean your shelter. Otherwise you will be sleeping in dried blood next to decaying corpses tonight.

Yeah, a communication error means I'm a week behind on a project, so that takes priority. While I still try to monitor the game, I haven't had the time to check the other wagons.

Ah, RL got you. That's different. Good luck!
interesting that Twilight reveals the mechanic of roles moving around so early...

I've not received a thing about any movement at all

Honestly? I'm not expecting to be around too long. I think there might be another push or two to lynch me and failing that, as I appear less scummy and more town, I'll be killed. I could be way off, but I don't expect to see endgame this one :(

Robbeasy: hmmm - this puts me rather in a quandary here - all i can say is go back to Ix's claim, look at my question, then his response to my question.

Then you will understand why I took my vote off him. My tell on Bookwyrm was different to Dedo's , but again, if you go back you will see what I mean.

I can say no more than that.
Ixamyakxim is NOT scum, correct??

avatar
Robbeasy: I have two confirmed town - rwarehall and bookwyrm.

Dedo im not sure about as he missed the obvious, as far as i can tell...

Everyone else is neutral / scum for me - long way to go yet though, I'm sure someone will poke their head above the ramparts soon...
It is difficult to rectify both of these posts.
Hi everyone!

I'm back now. I see not much has happened, I'll try to share some views later today after I unpack.
