Teiresias: My Galaxy client is continuously failing to update for a day or two now. A post from today says 1.2.29 has been released, but my client is at 1.2.26 and will not update (failed to update prompt as I said), and the client download page still only has the 1.2.26.8 client so I can't install that either (since my installed version is the same or newer.

Any word on a fix or when the newest version will be available on the download page?

SuperSunshine21: Same here, can't update, and when I go to the site and download the installer, the installer says I have the newest version.
avatar
BKGaming: While I was able to update right when the patch released, I have now also started to get update failed messages again even on 1.2.29. It's possible the update service is down right now.

GOG hasn't updated the download page yet, but I believe you can find the newest version here:

https://cdn.gog.com/open/galaxy/client/setup_galaxy_1.2.29.28.exe
Thanks man, same here still got the update problem when I start Galaxy 1.2.29, but at least I didn't get an error when I ran the installer/could install version 1.2.29.

I'll add that I get the message saying GOG was unable to update. Used the linked 1.2.29.28 installer and was able to update but still got the error when launching Galaxy. I get it on my Windows 10 PC as well as my laptop running macOS High Sierra.
When I look at the changelog, it includes two copies of 1.2.29, both of which were updated on November 4th according to the changelog.
Same problem here.

It says problem updating gog galaxy and when i download last version...
"a recently version is already installed" ......

HAHAHA.
Good evening,

any idea what's causing the behaviour illustrated on the following screenshots?

Store page:
i.imgur.com/Dy9FB2U.jpg

Library:
i.imgur.com/beRP3z2.jpg
i.imgur.com/lXKUWYY.jpg

Client should be up to date (as indicated by "1.2.29") and logging in works no problemo.

Already tried a couple things like reinstalling or running the client as administrator, reinstalling and running the setup.exe as administrator, but no cigar.

Running Win7 x64, by the way.

Edit: Everything community-related like the forums or the wishlists is displayed correctly.

This may possibly be a fix for your update glitches:

I don't quite understand.

Firewall, antivirus - try to disable it and check who's the culprit. :)

The changelog still isn't showing for me... the last update shown in Galaxy changelog is 1.2.28 BETA.

---

I also uploaded my clean logs to the following issue to help find the problem related to the "There was a problem with updating the application but you can always download the latest version from gog.com/galaxy" popup that is still happing.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Tried both temporarily deactivating the antivirus service and bypassing the firewall (via "exposed host", the firewall itself cannot be deactivated) but to no avail. The store and the library are still messed up formatting-wise.

Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Yes it is. I've had it since 26. Glad to know I'm not alone.
